Goodbye England's Rose (Candle in the Wind)

Музыка

A gripping video version by Sir Elton John during
Princess Diana's funeral in London. The pictures speak for themselves One wonders how Elton kept his composure during this incredible tribute to England's Rose, Princess Diana. Bernie Taupin re-wrote the lyrics for Diana from the original tribute to Marilyn Monroe

It's so spectacular how one woman could capture the heart of not just a nation, but the entire world. She used her title and her spotlight for good, and the lives of so many people were made better because of her. Even 24 years after her death, she is still mourned.

Sad to see that Harry and William have neither of their parents alive eventhough their father is physically alive. And now the royal family bicker over the name of Harry and Meghan's daughter. Shame on the English royals, they have no idea what the actual royal office means, nor common decency. Maybe UK should consider democracy. Decency and reason died with Princess Diana, bless her immortal soul.

She was unequivocally a PRINCESS, an ANGEL, a QUEEN - I feel the word Princess was coined for her. She is no longer with us, but SHE will always remain. it's still emotional 20 years later. you can clearly see how heartbroken and devastated the british were when Diana died. she meant a lot for them and it saddens me to know that she cant see her grandchildren and her kids growing up. its unbelievably sad that such a great person was taken from us so early

I still dont know how Elton John held it together, while singing this beautiful tribute to her...she was the queen of hearts. If the rest of the royal family could be as kind as she was the world would be a better place. RIP beautiful lady.

Every time I watch this video, the suffering of the English people is never forgotten. The rest of the world that knew about her grieved also. What makes a person memorable in the public memory. What does it take to be unforgettable in living memory. Listen to the words of his song. She was recognized in her own country was a very nice person and a good mother. She represented the crown with great pizzazz. Her beautiful smile, the time she took to interact with the people in the different charities she worked with a representative of the royal family showed that she would take the to reach out and listen. She treated everyone the same. She became the popular royal with the public. According to the magazines, this wasn’t true inside the royal family. Her husband played with a stacked deck. She was much younger, they didn’t seem to share a lot of common interests, and he was false in his intentions in taking a wife. He needed the heirs but he loved someone else. When they were divorced and the princess took her charity work to other countries, many more people saw her and recognized her worth. It didn’t matter what the royal family tried to deny her, she was much loved, and would always be treated like the princess she truly was. She set a constant public example of persevering in her life despite the tremendous odds against her. We remember an outstanding example of what it takes to be the best person you can when your own life is desperately unhappy. At the time of her death she had found someone who loved her a lot. Her death left us with the videos of her life, her interviews, her time with her children, her official trips. His song wont let us forget what we lost. Let’s hope you tube keeps this memorial to her.

I remember when we got the news in America right after it happened. I was up for almost 3 days crying, hoping the first 24 hours that she had made it. Praying for her 2 boys and her family. I find myself immediately crying right now. The world lost an absolute angel that horrible day.
