I totally appreciate the industry needing a date to reopen, but to ask for that date *without* social distancing measures just doesn’t make any sense at the moment. That’s the same as asking “when will the pandemic be over?” and unfortunately we just don’t know the answer to that. Even the advent of a vaccine isn’t going to be the panacea that ends the pandemic, and unfortunately Carries comment that by the middle of next year everything would be back to normal struck me as extremely optimistic. I’m not British (I’m a Canadian PhD candidate in cell biology) so it’s possible that it’s easier to stamp out individual outbreaks in a smaller country, and enough people may indeed feel that the risk of attending a full theater is worth the reward. But to ask for a date at this stage? I just don’t think that’s something that anyone can give 😭

I was thinking that too - it's just impossible to give a date for no social distancing and have confidence it wouldn't have to change 😭

You voiced that really well. I agree with you but didn't know how to put it into words. I absolutely understand the beed for a date, but unfortunately it really is too much to ask at this stage of the pandemic

Oliver I LOVED this one! It's always fun for you to just talk to us about your experiences and the reality of being an actor. You and Carrie seem more bubbly today after taking a trip to the pub. Just leaving the house helps so much. Love starting my "lock down days" with you both.

A different perspective to changing things on stage. A show has a natural rhythm. Whilst that is given by the cast, the DSM has to be thoroughly in tune with that rhythm - not just for giving the actual cue, but when to start speaking and how quickly you need to speak so that you finish speaking a second or so before the actor gives the cue. I've had it before when calling shows and the rhythm changes and it can honestly throw so much out of whack. But things are always also naturally different and glitches do occur - this is again where a good DSM is completely in tune with the cast and the rest of the tech team. They honestly do feel things and sense that there is an issue (not always exactly what it is), but through experience will know who to follow in order to get things back on track. It all adds grey hair - but also helps keep the show fresh!

Here in Belgium we're going through a second wave right now and I just want it all to be over .. I'm ready to live again ;)

Lol for me I’m in Winnipeg and it’s 4 in the morning I stay up all night just to watch the videos the second they come out lol

I had a very strict acting teacher who said that being early is wasting someone's time as much as being late because they aren't READY for you yet. If you are early you should never go inside until right on time. Wait in your car or around the corner. Thoughts?

Phillipa Jensen I work with a youth theatre and 100% agree with this. We have such a tight schedule at the theatre (as we have to pay to hire it by the hour) and when the parents try and drop their kids off 20mins early it really screws us up as one of the team has to drop whatever we are doing and chaperone the child. Parents dont understand that even though their child is really quiet and well behaved, we cant just let them go upstairs and get changed on their own and we usually we wont be ready to do anything else such as mic them up yet so its not helping by giving them to us early.

Remember when we went to ironbridge and our house backed onto the pub garden. You could pass a pint over the back fence😂 But that pub did a decent breakfast and a good loaded nachos 👍 Great video!

Good luck with getting a 'date' ..... they couldn't even give schools a decent warning, and that was something they were really supporting on happening. I don't feel that theatre industry has that support.

I've got a feeling I know who the ironing board is 😆 because as an audience member, I noticed them every single time.

I thought the papers were saying from August 1st. I’m pretty sure that’s what the stage said. Maybe I misread it! X

You have to read all of the information! if they opened now they would be only 1/3 full and would have to put SO many safety measures in place... Just because the idiotic PM says they can open doesn't mean they actually can...

what is carrie drinking ? i love it's colour and need to know if i should try it XD

Please be careful opening, don't be like us in the USA. There may not be a normal as we know it but a new normal.
