    I've always heard golfers need "forward shaft lean" at impact, but I've never understood HOW to do it correctly until now. You've explained it wonderfully in simple terms, and your Solid Strike video course is awesome:)

    This past winter my wife Virginia, who has great golf genes, gave me my all time favourite Christmas present, a lesson with Adam. The great thing about that lesson was that I left with a single concrete idea that improved the quality of my ball striking immediately, without filling my head with technical ideas. A classy man and a brilliant teacher.

    I had a lesson with Adam last March and this is basically what we covered. I was asking him how to "drive" the ball better (meaning power). One issue was lack of shaft lean. In the last segment where Adam hits it, he told me to imagine driving a nail into a piece of wood. If you lean the club correctly, striking the ball feels very much like that. In fact, for the drill, he said to just take the club back 1/3 of the way and only let it go 1/3 past vertical. It helped quite a bit andI can hit the ball 150+ yards easily with that simple 1/3 swing. Adam is such a great teacher.

    Very good. I was a 11-15 HC depending on time of year (weather) and then applied your simple instruction and am currently a 7 under the new HC system. I’m 67 years old and play from about 6400 yards. I will be honest and say I’m a nut when it comes to golf and probably was obsessed until the bell went off from this impact concept. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Like your 6 minutes too. Man some of these guys go on & on & on & on. Lol

    When I was younger I was given advice like "hit into a firm left side" which is true, but your advice has been much more detailed and helpful to understand the correct impact position. One thing I would say is please give as many drills as you can. They are very helpful for committing good swing habits to muscle memory. Hoping to get down to a single digit handicap again after quitting the game for 25 years (family, career, etc.). I am enjoying both your free and paid instruction videos. Thank you!

    Did this one tip my last round. With an honest stroke count, shaved 10 strokes from one round to another. Simple key was to make sure the grip of the club was ahead of the head of the club on that crucial torso and ball center line in the down swing motion. Also my lag shot #7 iron great tool to just even practice swing in the T box.

    Great simple explanation of concept and drills. I love this video. Adam? Could you either explain how 'supination' or left wrist bow applies along with the shallow, downward swing at impact. I understand that it will deloft the club but I also suspect that solid contact as more to do with the compression through downward swing than it does with a delofted clubface. Kevin

    Adam I've found your teachings tremendously helpful! I recently became a lifetime member and you reviewed my swing and prescribed this same preset drill to feel the hands ahead at impact. I've done everything in the video above to get the feeling, I can get hands ahead on small shots (where the ball almost goes as far as my full swing), but when I swing full the old instincts kick in and I can't hold lag or get my hands ahead at impact for anything! Even with a lot of conscious effort. Is there anything else you would recommend?

    Are there any negatives to setting up with the hands in front of club head (delofting). How come players don’t lineup with that angle?

  • @Scratchgolfacademy

    @Scratchgolfacademy

    5 жыл бұрын

    Owen, Nicklaus did it a little bit, so it couldn't be bad. That said, a forward press by no means guarantees the shaft will also be forward at impact (might do on a chip where the swing is so small), so it can create some distortions in grip etc that can be problematic. Hope this helps. All the best, Adam

    Great videos Adam. You demonstrate a high level of hand-eye coordination (bouncing a ball on your club). I cannot do that and I suspect most average golfers cannot. That disadvantage plays a lot into the outcome of our play. Can hand-eye coordination be learned- improved.?

    RE: the title of this vedeo - - Golf Swing (IMPACT POSITION) ''Perceuses'' pour une précision mortelle!. Drill may be translated by perceuses (to bore holes; understand electric drill)) or exercises/répétitions (training or learning drills). As well, deadly precision is used to mean ''very accurate precision; it should be translated by précision accrue (increased).

    but how to really get there is more than a "will" it is far more complicated and "illogic" than mainstream instruction. Thats the secret of golf

    @@Scratchgolfacademy So why having an instructor then ? What's the purpose if "we have to do it by ourselves" to refrain your terms

    Think of it this way. When you teach a child some skill (drinking from a cup, riding a bike etc) you can make sure they are safe, coach and instruct, but you lecturing on balance (in the bike example) won't mean much. Them spending time on the bike will. A good instructor can really help provide shortcuts to improvement by explaining, prioritizing what to work on, and gic=ving feedback. It's still the student that ultimately has to do it. Best, Adam

    @@Scratchgolfacademy The bike and golf analogy is not convincing. The golf is far more difficult and like Hogan said : You have to reverse your instincts... This is where an instructor should be at task ; these days it is too lip tied.
