I like the new lift. Which one did you go with after all? Similar thing happened to me with the cam actuator dropped it also and damaged it; those things are flimsier than they appear.

I love your videos man! I’m getting ready to pull a motor on a friend’s mk7 gti, I just installed a 2 post lift in my garage but I’m debating if I should follow the vw manual and drop the subframe / motor out the bottom of the car or just pull the front end apart like you did in your other videos. Do you think your method is easier / faster? Thanks!

  • @Phoenix_Core

it all depends on if you have acc and r134a or yf if you have yf, fuck that just do it the right way and drop the subframe. if you have r134 whatever. if you have acc then you will need a recalibration at a dealer for the proper setup with thrust angle adj etc.

I was wondering why this was being done and read it was preventive maintenance? Although VW has no such recommendation for timing chains on MK7's? And I found several folks with well over 200K miles with the original chain still running just fine. I know many VW owners are some of the most anal retentive people in the world, but this is just absurd. This had to cost well over thousand dollars, for something that did not (by any stretch of the imagination) need to be done. So when they aren't doing things like this, do they normally flush their money down the toilet, or set it on fire? 😂

Hello I don't like the way you work at all, you don't use a torque wrench to tighten the manufacturer's specification. in the future it's ok to tighten the torque so as not to damage the thread VW is following you

He literally made a video so we can DIY. When you DIY this job, you can thank him for teaching you how to do this job while the engine is in the car! Almost all other shops will charge you thousands because they usually remove the engine to do it! When you DIY, you can torque each bolt according to manufacturer spec. There are plenty of other videos, that have also been made for your benefit, that show the torque specs for this job. Stop complaining. You aren't paying him to do the job are you? LOL. If you don't like his work, don't send your car to him. It's very simple guy. Oh, I mean male Karen...
