The DF 2.1 has changed my game. Versa 7 to start out, then switched to a TM Spider which I putted well with but was very streaky. The 2.1 is hands down the most consistent and easiest to hole putt with IMO. However, it is IMPERATIVE to get past the learning curve. The first 2 rounds with it were mediocre at best. You have to practice and find the feel. When your feel changes and adjusts to the putter the results are hard to ignore. It is the straightest putter I have ever used, and the roll is pure. Once you get a feel for it and it becomes "your" putter, go pick up your old putter that you switched from, and you'll see just how weird it feels. I know this isn't a DF video, but thought I would share my LAB golf personal experience
The putter isn’t the problem…the green is like cobblestone!

Great as always Andy! Something that deserves mentioning though is that the majority of the top 100 players on just about every Tour now are using mallet putters not blades. It's about 60/40 mallets vs blades. You said something about better players using blades so thought I'd mention that.

Very few pro’s use “traditional” blades anymore too!
His current putter looks great. FYI in large screen mode I have sound issues with your mike in small screen with Lou's
Just bought the link two days ago I love it so far practicing just gotta get used to the stroke and leaving the hands out of it
Maybe a slight weight adjustment for the slower wet greens of winter in the Uk. I live on the Oregon coast and we have slow and wet greens during the winter. Actually not that slow but concrete hard and fast in the summer! So, I’ll need 2 Link putters!? Great video! Thank you!!
Andy, I’ve had 4 LAB putters but you haven’t mentioned being fitted for putter length and lie? I only did the LAB remote fitting recently and was surprised the suggested lie angle for me was much flatter than I would have thought. To get the very best out of the putter paying almost £500 you need to get that fit surely? I saw a big difference on start line and result but your video is almost have a go with this. My tour player pro friend would have a straight putt set up with a line and want to see that putter hitting the start line. If you can’t aim a 6-8ft putt you are not going to knock anything in no matter how much you like the feel or look. I’m still sold on the concept of LAB but it does need to be dialled in.
Love this video! Great job as always Andy! Interested to see where he is with it in a few weeks.

@@TheAverageGolferany update?
Love the videos. The ones with Lou are great!
I use a Ping Anser putter
Mezz is T6061 Aluminium Alloy whereas Link is 303 Stainless Steel.
Cobra Supernova 3d Printed putter left hand low straight back straight through perfection with a black and silver Jumbomax grip to match the color schema of the putter and on my irons with black and silver tour Jumbomax (Small). If anyone of you have elbow pain nerve pain hand or wrist pain I HIGHLY recommend using them I was going to quit golf over a 10/10 pain from tennis elbow (left arm) now I can hit 200 balls VERY HARD (103mph 3 iron SS) and NO PAIN or very very minimal 5% max and that's only if I go over 100 balls but again 5% pain yeah I will do 200 but 300 balls now I am at 25% pain so I rarely go that crazy anymore. I am using Graphite (Aerotech Steelfiber 95i S) Steel is out of the question but the aerotechs give me the best of both worlds. God bless!
I think that we all knew that Lou would love the Link.1👍👍 It will be interesting to see how he gets on with it during his extended loan period and whether it displaces the Scotty
Which putter is it?
How's it going with the Mezz? Im looking at the Mezz Max. Is the Mezz still in your bag??
Great video, both of you. Let us know how he gets on. I really love the Mezz but i need to try it first. Its a massive price. Thanks Andy

Worth it 100% once you get used to the stroke it’s great worth the money since putting is where we can gain strokes the most if you can always start a putt on line it’s priceless good iron shots and big drives won’t necessarily lead to lower scores as does improving putting in my opinion

Same I'm over here on the west coast USA with lightning fast greens. UK looks like you need to hit it twice or 3 times as hard.
That Red X was notorious for not only being a bad Scotty but a bad putter in general.
Putting on that green in that condition is a lottery!
I use a heel shafted putter. Works for me. Importantly according to the foot spray analysis I find the centre of the face. The biggest change I made to my putting was routine, introducing a 180 walk around (without slowing play) and the use of a secondary distraction. Implemented this the other year and went 74 holes without a three putt! Of course having said all of that I had 40 putts first time out in 6 months……and the April Greens were as usual “like cobblestones”! 😂
L.A.B. - revolutionary (or at least unconventional) design. Big claims. Loyal fanbase. All we need now is video evidence of users actually putting noticably better than they had been with their legacy putters.
I have the Mezz, I like it but it doesn’t fit my eye, I go back to my Scotty!

@@TheAverageGolfer Looking forward to seeing the follow-up video. Your work is very informative!
Really interesting video, I love what they are doing. Perhaps you can compare a PXG putter that has a lot of weight and MOI to the mezz. One small annoyance, the camera was bouncing all over the place on this video.
I’m very content with my Costco $99 putter!
Link has stainless head while Mezz has aluminum, thus Link will always have greater more dense feel, more similar to Scotty
Nice putter.
SEND me one!! im sold
The audio listening through headphones or surround sound is completely not doable.
Played an identical Scotty for 1-2 years. To me it’s the most beautifully elegant shape from above. Suddenly the romance was over then a few years of hot affairs, I’m back (2 years today) to my 40 year old Ping Anser 4 with tons of lead tape and fatter Superstroke grip. My first love? “The magic of our first love is our ignorance that it can never end.” -Benjamin Disraeli. IMHO, as far as putters go the level of trust and confidence at address is the ultimate consideration. I feel I make just as many birdies with that old Ping as with the Scotty’s and Redwoods and Bettinardi’s, and Spyders, two balls,... Never liked inserts... it’s like making love with a cond... Oh no, that Lab Link 1. That center shafted beauty. My Anser is not center shafted. The one flaw of my endless love. That Link 1. Beauty from every angle except for me, the back face. You don’t see it at address so it shouldn’t matter; like a beautiful lover with buck teeth. Still that Link 1 is a putter after my heart.

The Edel EAS is a far better looking bladed putter and does the same job.
I game a 35+ year old Taylormde blade style putter. Very unforgiving but because i practice I am putting better now than ever before. yea a new putter might help, but $300 - $500 for a putter...not worth it...practice is free! 😁
It ain’t pretty, but if it works, it works

When will golfers learn that you can not buy a better golf game. The best putter you can own is one called ‘Practice’ You probably already own one and spend about 3 min. on the practice green with it. Increase that time to 30 min. and save yourself a lot of money. Why has Tiger and Rory used the same putter for decades? BECAUSE THEY PRACTICED with it.

@@TheAverageGolfer The average handicap in 1975 was 19. Tens of millions of pounds have been spent on new clubs , putters etc that 'promise to make you a low handicap golfer' The average handicap today is 19. £10 spent on Dr. Bob Rotella's book. The clickbait title of "mind blown" seems to sum up this video up. My mind is clearly blown on why I watched it. I'd say from what I did manage to watch is that the seasoned Tour Pro's putting issues and lack of confidence aren't about the putter he's using, more about what's between his ears.
@TheAverageGolfer

My mind is blown when I read this kind of comment, are you suggesting golf pros don’t change putters?
Andy, the putter is actually used much more than the Driver but putting out the same amount of money on a new putter as a new driver is a very large pill to swallow?
@RunFreeRyan
Жыл бұрын
I would agree with Andy. It shouldn't be that way but people are much more keen to pay 600 dollars on a driver than a putter. Kinda dumb, I think, paying for a good quality putter makes more sense than a new driver where maybe you'll gain a mph of ball speed if someone's lucky.
