Thanks. Newbie with a golf cart here, and I have a lot of noise. Coasting down (foot off throttle) hill or under uphill load no noise but, in-between yikes bad. pulled the motor, male / female splines look excellent. Fingers crossed this solves it.

I'm glad I've found an Aussie cart repairer. I have a G29 YDRE and thought I had noisy axle bearings. Took them out this morning, ran the cart on jack stands, and looks like the horrible noise is the diff. Any help or guidance on the repair would be really helpful.

I have this clinking on deceleration and no load situations on a new Yamaha Drive 2 cart. Could this be the same issue?

I’d be checking wheel bearing and drum brakes first before you start pulling the motor but potentially it could be .

Hey mate long subscriber.....I just bought a secondhand yamaha golf cart. Stopped going after a loud clunk...pulled the electric motor and the inner spline of the motor has given up the ghost and just spins on the input shaft.....do yo know where I could get the inner part of the motor? Or will I need a new motor?

I once tried to buy just the armatur but it was almost the same cost as a complete motor .

The part is a G29 Yamaha input shaft bumper. Yamaha part number JH7-H1829-00.

That is something you need to access on your cart if you have let it go on way too long. I pick up on the noise very early in the carts life as a Scheduled mantainance item and haven’t found 1 in a late G29 that had worn the shaft or spline . In much older carts that have been left far too long then yep maybe worn. As I say something you need to decide on your cart given how long the bumper has been worn. 🍺👍

Probably not one I can help with via message but if I had to give you somewhere to start I’d say the shaft from the differential that the electric motor slides onto is worn. Does it make any strange noises as the motor spins?
