Welcome my fantastic artistic friends, in today's oil painting video we create a beautiful golden sunset over a waterfall. Using a thin layer of transparent oil paints on a black primed canvas we blend in all the colours on the pallet from the gorgeous golden yellows to pretty purples. This super relaxing painting has it all, an eye catching sunset to the majestic movement of water falling from a lake. If you are an absolute beginner in oil painting and wish to pick up some art tips or a seasoned master looking for inspiration you can paint along to this picture. This landscape painting is filmed in real time unedited so you get the full paint experience from start to finish. The video is full of hints and tips so you can paint along or feel free to replay the video until you have mastered a certain technique. We will cover the step by step process of how to paint the different colours of the sky and also the beautiful landscape it watches over. We add reflections in the water and some landscape material such as clouds and bushes in our fun and easy to achieve painting style. You can find the paint colours further below in the description.

We use Bob Ross oil paints. Paint colours are; Titanium White, Midnight Black, Phthalo Blue, Prussian Blue, Van Dyke Brown, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Sap Green, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Indian Yellow, Bright Red. Liquid clear and Liquid white.
Canvas size is 20inch X 16inch double Primed and pre stretched. under coated in black gesso. But you use any size canvas that is convenient for you.

I use a variety of brushes; 2inch Brush, 1inch brush, Number 6 fan brush, Number 3 fan brush, 1/2 inch pointed round brush, 3/4 inch pointed round brush, 3/4 inch flat head brush, Script liner brush, Number 5 pallet knife, Number 10 pallet knife.
These are my preferred brushes but you use any that you are comfortable with and that fits your artistic style.
Other art materials we will need are; Artists easel, Large artists pallet, odourless paint thinner, paper towels and an artists apron.

The ferns in the foreground are so lifelike, and once again my eyes are drawn to the banks in the distance of the pond. Like the accompanying sound effects as well! 👏👍

Star of the painting for me was the little smudge you made with your thumb for the sun. The centrepiece of the painting & each time I looked away my eyes were drawn back to its reflection in the stream. Unnecessary trees hanging on to dear life @ the waterfall rockery.However, I think your preparation for the painting was vital to bring out the deep colours in the sun’s reflection.

Beautiful Master Dan ❤️ I've never seen a Yorkshire waterfall but I did visit a little babbling brook with a stone bridge over it and a stone cottage next to it. ❤️ This was over 50 years ago and I can still see it in my mind, it was amazing! Happy days Master Dan xx

Suzanne there are some absolutely amazing and fantastic rural places in Yorkshire, little streams, waterfalls, dry stone walls .... it certainly does leave a happy image in the mind 🎨🎨👍

My 4 year old watched it all and said it was perfect 👍 what do you like about it I said? He said I like the water 💧 as it looked like water, the wavy clouds ⛅️ as they look like clouds and the sunset as it looked like a sunset 🌅. 😂

Yeah I'm sure it's mango feed cows pee that's been dried, powdered down and mixed with oil. Some purples are made with crushed beetles ..... thats why the paints are so expensive. Happy days Fairy dust 🥋🎨🥋
