Isn't it funny how the people who are first to use words like "petty" or "selfish" are always the people who do you or others wrong. 💯

My Christian upbringing says to do good to one's enemies. My base side says let Melissa and Lucas sell all they own to pay back their debt.

Okay, I have real doubts this is a real story as many of the details just seem so far fetched, but there are some insane people in this world with truly solipsistic personalities. So, I guess anything is possible. I really understand your view. We cry out for vengence, but our Christian side must always win out. Being a Christian is persecution, and forgiveness of that persecution. In the same way Jesus forgave those who put him on the cross. LORD forgive them they know not what they do. That grace is awe inspire, but it is what we are called to do. However, when others threaten you with violence you have a right to defend yourself. We must again forgive them, but we all can protect ourselves. The call of a Christian is like nothing else in this world nothing is harder. And requires more dedication. But with Christ Jesus all things are possible.

OP is a doormat. OP should never have opened the door and told them the cops are on the way i suggest you leave and never come back. the only reason your failures as parents are apologizing is because they gave those 2 idiots so much money they are going to have to rely on you financially in the future

Reasons to not give the money 1. Sister flashed her vag and stole OP’s Fiancé. 2. Family took Sister’s side in the debacle without giving a single thought for OP’s circumstances meaning they all probably already knew and OP was literally the last to know. 3. Sister and Ex are already in the financial sewer meaning their financial skills aren’t even up to bat with their business, casting major doubt on the viability of repayment. 4. You never lend money to family even under the best of circumstances, unless you have their guarantee of repayment IN WRITING.

I think they purposely add in am I the a whole thing even if the store probably doesn't exist on Reddit. The in conclusion part near the end especially gives it away that it's fake it's pretty laughable honestly.

The question I never see asked when a parent sides with the betrayer and expects the betrayed to let it go is to ask “how long did it take for you to forgive and get passed dad’s cheating? Oh, you didn’t know?” On the small chance there was cheating, they now get to parade that publicly. Most likely, they now have to show how they really feel about “it’s the past”.

This feels AI-ish. Not too much, either the author edited it or they trained the chat well, but it's there. I'm not mad, this is how AIs are supposed to be used, but if the author is reading this: next time consider the genre of your story. Reddit style stuff aren't this professionally structured. Parts are skipped and rushed, especially "hard" and "emotional" parts. Make it sound like a stream of consciousness rather than a narration.
