It looks like Horlicks just needed a constant companion and having another pet in the house who would provide unconditional nonstop company was the right solution. Glad Horlicks and Hero are happy together.

I notice this these days due to a new puppy & our 8 year old cat. It’s the pup who wants to play even more, but kitty likes it too! I like your fashion of speaking. Are you, by any chance, Chinese? I agree with that we had just one Maltese shitzu cross however we were worried about her being alone considering her breed do get anxious a lot easier so when she was 2 she had a litter of pups we kept her son cause she only had 2 sons 4 girls and we got him desexed and we have never regretted now she has a constant companion we love both of them so much.

I like that some people are taking their cats and dogs for walks together. Never seen it yet in my country.

it only really works with a certain cat temperament/activity level or if they were raised alongside dogs. I wish more people would raise them together as they often end up being very influential in good ways on behavior, and everyone needs a friend who's a little different

@@mip4422 when I had my cat I would take her walks. I lived in Bukit Timah & we used to walk in circles around the condos walkways as she hated the lease, so I couldn’t take her on the road. But every evening we’d go for a 30 min walk and cap it off with some play near a tree in the lawn area. This was between 2011-2013.

I've seen people walking with their dog and the cat is walking the same way, maybe 30 meters behind. It looks funny.

I love these dogs but I’ve had a couple of incidents with this type of breed attacking my Akita now I’m afraid when I see these types of dogs. I know not all are the same but if you ever have been around a dog fight it’s very horrific and frightening

Dogs are good even when they dont like cats. If you are ok with cats disliking dogs, you should be ok with the opposite too

You are such a wonderful pet parent. Knowing what Horlicks needed and gave him the greatest gift in Hero. Goodness, they are gorgeous!

Not chubby 😢 - Stocky. Actually he’s a British Shorthair (albeit with a flatter face and more bulging eyes than are usual) and they do have a stocky build, wide heads, and that signature thick thick fur.

Aww that’s so sweet

Despite animals living in a loving home with humans whom adore them, many pets would hugely benefit from the presence of another animal (which doesn't even need to be of the same species) especially if the humans go out to work. These loving humans recognised this immediately with their beloved pup and brought in a most adorable and playful companion/playmate for him. They get along fantastically, each being perfect for the other, and to see this gorgeous kitty initiate play or snuggles with the pup is lovely.

I have 4 dogs and 13(farm) cats. You wouldn't believe the unique individual relationships between the 2 species

Horlicks is such a great name! This was fun.

Ugh that kitten is absolutely freaking gorgeous! I want to squeeze his little face and pepper it with kisses. 😂😂😂😍😘😘🤗 The doggo is cute too. Glad they found each other. 😚

That looks like a British Shorthair kitten. I had a yellow lab years ago and got him a British Shorthair friend, they were besties from day one. Great choice for his companion!

These animal stories from Dodo, always get me. At first, I kinda didnt like them, bc it seemed like the owners just wanted views, but its changed my view. There are still good pure people out there EVERYWHERE, not just here. I've seen these videos from every part of the world and its amazing, bc were all the same. We want love and to be loved, man or animal.

I love when people get a pet for their pet. I have a dog-walking client who recently let me know she's going to be getting her dog a puppy soon. I'm thrilled, because her boy absolutely loves every other dog in the world. He thinks every dog is going to be his best buddy and he wants all of them to play with him all the time. I've been hoping his mom would get him a friend for awhile. He's gonna have a happiness overload when a new baby shows up, and I can't wait!

Love how this worked out for both! They make a great pair, and good company for each other! Btw.. just Love Golden Retrievers most loving personalities. Wise choice bringing these two, together! ♥️

What a nice owner to find a solution for her dog's anxiety! She would be very good with rescued dogs and cats, which often have a lot of anxiety.

My dog has a same problem 😞 i waited until he was three years old,then I went to search for Maine coon breeders. I found the one and we now they have the best promance ever.💕

How great! 😊 An anxious pup got a friend to ease his anxiety, and a kitten got a safe, secure and loving home. The owners now have the best of both worlds- a dog AND a cat! And us, Dodo viewers, have a sweet heartwarming story to watch. It’s a true win-win situation for everyone!

Super happy Horlicks has a brother to look after him. My dog Riley had separation anxiety as well a combination of family love and getting another animal that he could interact with helped him out. Horlicks will do well and seeing him and Hero play is so great.

I had a golden retriever who was 13. I also have a brown petite lab. When my golden retriever passed, Miss Heidi, my cat Ozzy who was 14, after a few months passed. They were the best of buds. My heart is broken, now I’ll have to go threw this my brown lab. I’ve had them all their lives, I never experienced so much happiness and joy in my life. I’m 65 as of yesterday, I know there are pets that need homes so one day when the time is right, I’ll open my home and heart to another fur baby. Love and Light

Dogs with separation anxiety often do well if they can focus their attention on something else. My eldest cousin has a rescue dog, Kaya, who had some pretty severe separation anxiety. She would start whining and crying if my cousin was just upstairs and could still hear her and call back. We were on a weekend away with the whole extended family on my dad's side, and at some point a few people, including my cousin, were going on a boating trip that unfortunately didn't allow dogs. Me and one of my aunts opted out of going, so the dog wasn't left home alone. However, I don't even think they were gone fifteen minutes before Kaya started whining. We tried to comfort her, but she was still sad. At some point I got the idea to just take her for a walk instead, so I put her harness on, and as soon as we left the door and started walking, she immediately perked back up, even playing fetch with me. We got back inside after a bit, and within two minutes she was crying again, so I just took her back out until we saw the cars with the other family members come back, at which point she was more than happy to run back with me.

Awe he just needed a friend to stay home with him.❤️

Golden Retrievers are so sweet by nature.

Omg, I laughed when their mom said she left them alone for a half an hour bc it sounds outrageous, but I understand 100%. As someone who has a rescue that formerly had severe separation anxiety to the point of injuring himself to the point of bleeding, I understand that even 30 mins of your dog being ok when you're not there is such a relief.

My old Labrador loved our calico. When I would whistle for the dog it brought both of them to the house. After passing of our lab I still whistle and the calico comes home. I know the cat misses the dog!!

It really works! I had found a very young kitten and took her in for my German Shepherd. He was very sad and wouldn't eat because I was working so much. The night I found her I brought her right in for them to meet. Love at first sight. He's been happy ever since. Also she is his shadow 😃
