The eagles weapons are its talons. The eagles is most vulnerable just behind its head, at the base of its neck. There it cannot use its talons or beak. But how does a predator work it’s way around the back of an eagle, bite it behind the neck or break a wing? I’ve only seen an healthy eagle killed on very few occasions. There’s footage of a snowy leopard killing a mountain goat and a golden eagle landing by the kill and trying to feed on the carcass. It got too close and the leopard toppled the bird and bit it behind the head while securing the wings and talons with its own claws. Believe it or not in Africa I saw footage of two jackals at dusk kill an adult harpy eagle. While one harassed the eagle the other would bite down and drag its wing or tail feathers as it tried to fly away, this went on for an hour until the eagle tired and the second jackal bit it around the neck while the other yanked on its wing. Both jackals were bigger than an average fox, I would say almost twice the size of a fox. Finally, adult leopards in Africa have been known to kill unsuspecting eagles on branches with relative ease.

The bird does not trust you that much. You need to work more on bonding. I would like to draw your attention to 2 things that are really troubling: 1) When she catches the moving lure, when you present to her the treat, you must work on moving her to a different direction. She takes the treat but she doesn’t let go of the lure, the treat is rewarding a bad behavior. 2) The bird needs more training to stand on the perch. I am seeing difficulty in letting go of the glove and moving to the perch. Towards the end of your video, the bird first moved to the perch but suddenly she clinched back the glove. I think it is because you took the lure from her and she sees the hand as a competitor. Lucky you had s thick glove. This clinch could get your arm chopped unless medical intervention was super quick.

Because their brains don’t turn off when they’re perched like that. It calms them down when they can’t see.

If I had a £1 for every time I’ve replied to a comment like this I would be a rich man! The golden eagle in this video IS A CAPTIVE BRED EAGLE. HE IS NOT A WILD ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would not survive in the wild as he’s only ever seen humans from birth. He yaps because he’s an imprint and he sees humans as a food source. Do you understand what I’m explaining?

@@bull-xtv Ok since you put that way I guess I am mistaken but why would he been in captivity from birth was he rescued in the first place or was it just for show business just out of curiosity?

@@KylesMonitors Haven’t you seen them try to fly off when they are on display in captivity besides it may be smart enough to know if it attempts to fly off it will just get itself hurt from being tied up by their feet?
