I don’t know what has happened to football. As an Arsenal fan, if Arteta had his first season this year and finished 8th like he did in 2020 then he should apparently be sacked. We’re so lucky this didn’t happen. I’m not sure Ten Haag was the next Sir Alex but he definitely didn’t deserve what has happened.

Because everybody always keeps living in the past Fergie times, if a manager does good one season and the next is shite they scream for his head. Don't care about how shite the management at the top is or how shite some of these players are who have been here for years. Yes this season was absolute shite and no style or paterns of play, but look at all the injuries, this season had zero consistency with a starting 11 especially in the backline, injuries list longer than epsteins list. Then all the Sancho stuff, the sale of the club and now new co owners comming in.. A hectic and uncertain work enviroment.. Did he made some bad decisions along the way for sure.. But how last season went with ending 3rd and 2 finals 1 cup has put unrealistic expactations on a lot of the fanbase... Arsenal went through the though times, backed Arteta let him do his rebuild and are now challenging and now he has to deliver.. I'm still ETH in, give him atleast one more season, sell the toxic players bring in the youth like he has been doing this season add a few selective signings and if the style football doesn't change you sack him..

Who's to say this isn't good news for the players? After all half of them dislike him. Now they have a chance to put on a show for the new manager, because most of them don't for EtH.

Yes the players may have been against him, and the club is poorly run, but he has had two seasons to build some kind of identity and he hasn't managed to make any progress at all. Yes, they can win games occasionally, but a few 1 goal/two goal wins in a season is not good enough. Man U need a manager who will stand up and enforce their own method of play, that is not something that Ten Hag has been able to do. I was Ten Hag in for so long, but even I am now understanding that Yes Player Power is an issue, but HE is the manager. He needs to enforce and demand power. He is not strong enough.

Getting hammered 4 -0 by Palace, 3 nil up against a poor Coventry side and then conceding 3 goals to make it 3-3, spending 90mill on Antony, 75 on Asmus, 65 on Mount, 71 on casemiro, 50 on Onana plus others and still being poor, maskes the problems and brought more time after beating Liverpool in the cup, but unfortunately ten hag has not been good enough, no tactics.. Market values of almost all players have only decreased under this man. Good managers only increase the market values of playets from the first season itself. There was never a plan.
I am happy for Ten Hag in the sense that he can get away from all the hate and toxicity at the club. He should get another season and to be fair, if we really believe in the "project" mentality, we have to do what Liverpool and City did and trust and invest in the manager and give them time to build the squad...but this is our United now I suppose

Utd's position is nothing to do with the manager. 10 years back Arsenal could have appointed Fergie in his prime, Pep, literally anybody, and it wouldn't have helped. Utd need to look at how Arsenal have transformed themselves and learn from it, if they don't, they'll be condemned to go through a 2 year Groundhog day cycle for the foreseeable future.
Let the players run the club and save time and more money for the Glasers.
Outside of the timing, its not a surprise. United just got a new board, who will have wanted to pick their own manager regardless of result, and then United have their worst finish by position in the entire premier league era. If they do want to go for their full rebuild as promised, it makes sense to get the new manager in as soon as possible so they can start discussing potential signings.
