For those, like me, who are beginners, denox is short for denitration (The removal of nitrate or other nitrogen compounds). If I'm not wrong, we have here HNO3 + H3NSO3 → H2SO4 + N2O + H2O (nitric acic is turned into sulfuric acid). That's the first time I see this operation during gold refining. If someone could explain what are its benefits... BTW, sulfuric acid will precipitate lead.

First of all I see you did not denox after se second AR, is that right? And second I used the same method one time (directly in AR) and after de-noxing with urea and SMB precipitation I did not get any gold drop (just had to cement the gold with copper). I am now using the AP method for slot cards and fingers. But anyway Great Video! Keep UP! You have my subscribe :)

I have seen most others dissolve base metals first with Acid/Peroxide, filter then after dissolve with AR. Is there some advantage using AR first? Did not know you could do a dirty drop with SMB!

Only advantage is the time, lot faster than the AP.

AP takes a week or two to dissolve base metals. There is also the possibility of losing some of the gold in she ap solution if too much H2O2 is added.

Nitric alone is even faster with addition of peroxide. You can drop the dirtiest solutions with smb

@@toomuchdebt5669 incorrect, it takes a massive amount of peroxide to dissolve gold, and if you do screw it up and dissolve gold just more hcl boom fixed. Ap can take up to a week but also as little as 2 to 3 days with extra little things to help the process along. No one way is better than the other because they recover the same amount of gold and fit different needs depending on the refiner

AT 3:50ISH YOU USE SALFAMIC ACID. IS THAT UREA OR CAN UREA BE USED ''AS WELL''?

Hello When you refine again, how much nitric acid do you add to the 10 ml of hcl?

HI, FRIEND, THE WAY I DO IT IS BY INCREMENTAL ,JUST A FEW DROPS AT A TIME NO MATTER THE VOLUME OF HCL YOU WANT TO HAVE AS LITTLE NITRIC AS POSIBLE THIS WAY WHEN YOU DENOX WITH SULFAMIC ACID YOU USE AS LITTE AS POSIBLE BUT NOT UNDER DOSE THE SULFAMIC ACID A LITTLE BIT EXTRA WILL NOT HURT YOUR DROP. ENJOY

If you have time, then AP. If you want the job done fast, then straight AR. Both good.
