That property in the video is virtually virgin soil for gold prospecting. There were only two weekend events held there in 2023 and three more events scheduled in 2024. In 2023 during the the two events, most everyone found gold, and multiple people found pickers (one flake was about the size of a pencil eraser). In 2024, there have been a couple more nice sized flakes found by running a simple stream sluice. That’s the beauty of that property. The gold is there, and it can be chunkier stuff; it’s just a matter of finding where it was deposited.

How do you get a chance to pan or sluice in private property? Do prospectors purchase a Claim or something do you know? Im new to this hobby and looking to find spots in Michigan. I live near Detroit/Pontiac MI. just wondering

Does no power sluice just mean no pumps? Normal sluice box like this is allowed in Michigan? Or only on private land?
