They’re not biased. Also, this comments about the cipher wheel that they did this season, save your replies to comments that are actually debating if they were true.

We all love Son Goku for that. And his preference for a fair and to-the limits fights is reason why we and him getting the most excellent and epic saiyan style brawl. That's why he is my favorite anime character of all time and such an inspiration to us all. He's gotten way smarter since his childhood days and may be not book smart but he's an absolute genius when it comes to fighting and yes I'm I'm taking the most formidable fighters of Marvel and DC into account and Mythologies(Like Hercules and Son Wukong). PS: He's in terms of strength and fighting capability what Rick is in intelligence.

There's no issue with preferring Death Battles and having a preference for Naruto, But everyone has their own taste in anime and shows. However, it's pretty stupid to form an opinion about an entire show based solely on a Death Battle. This death battle pretty much goes through Goku's strength primarily and might not give you the full picture of the series. Try giving a show a try before judging it and saying "I love Naruto but can't really see the point of Dragon Ball Z".

Even if DB ends in its current form, it’s almost poetic for it to go out with GVS and the single most requested matchup. And giving Toriyama’s feature character one final, incredible spotlight on the show right before he died is again, poetic. I apologize if this feels insensitive, I don’t mean to be, but it’s a thought I’ve been thinking about this morning.

@@Amardarial Yeah no, firstly Shazam behaves like an adult when he transforms. Secondly, it was only in the JLU episode that they didn't get along. Also Vegeta is straight up proud and arrogant. Batman and him are nothing alike. Bruce knows his limits, Vegeta just thinks of breaking his.

In the analysis they have done, they have failed in key points that have given Superman the advantage. The first flaw is that Superman destroys the World Forger's anvil and that causes the destruction of the multiverse, not the punch directly. And also Superman infinite frontier who only recovers the memories and experiences of his past lives, but not the feats or powers of the old versions of him. Death Battle seems to like Superman fan arguments. Both characters can win the fight, but they prefer Superman. It would have been epic if Goku managed to win or even draw. It would have been a tribute to the recent death of Akira Toriyama. Superman has certain advantages, but Goku, after losing many fights, manages to win after a hard battle. We all know this would be the case. Akira has been able to create the most inspiring character that has ever existed. 💪🏻👊🏻 Today we enjoy epic battles thanks to him. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. 🕊

I doubt Superman would actually enjoy dealing with someone like Goku though, most of the Justice League members shared a similar take on fighting being necessary but not desirable. Even Wonder Woman would rather not see violence if possible. Having an extremely powerful person like Goku - who also craves battle to the point that he ignores practically everything else in life - would probably be a danger in Superman’s eyes.

The first flaw is that Superman destroys the World Forger's anvil and that causes the destruction of the multiverse, not the punch directly. And also Superman infinite frontier who only recovers the memories and experiences of his past lives, but not the feats or powers of the old versions of him. Death Battle seems to like Superman fan arguments. Both characters can win the fight, but they prefer Superman. It would have been epic if Goku managed to win or even draw. Superman has certain advantages, but Goku, after losing many fights, manages to win after a hard battle. We all know this would be the case. Akira has been able to create the most inspiring character that has ever existed. 💪🏻👊🏻 Today we enjoy epic battles thanks to him. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. 🕊

Youre right they would absolutely like each other from the get go. I mean come on they both never kill unless its the only option and even then they regret it for a while.But as sparring partners both can test their limits without issues.

Coming back to this episode after the passing of Akira Toriyama, this episode was the best way to say goodbye to the wonderful man behind one of my favorite anime/manga series. Even if Goku died fighting Clark again, he still got great respect in the end. Rest in peace, Toriyama-san… We’ll meet again in the next life.

Toriyama may no longer be here with us today. However his presence on our lives and culture as we know of will never ever be forgotten. I am incredibly thankful for what's he's created. And Death Battle thank for so much from the bottom of my heart for this fight. I was hesitant when it was first announced. But this was great. Whatever comes for you guys in the future. This will be a wonderful tribute to Toriyamas work and effect on culture.

Love the comment but Im pretty sure that the clash between the two ripped the universe which seemed to be where they were at the end. The Halo was more of a way to say yeah Goku looses this rather then having an insanely disrespectful and out of character death like the last two. This is the sort of death battle we love to see. Mafuba is way too slow to ever hit Superman. They say this in the video. Goku has never successfully used hakai so as of right now he wouldn’t have been able to use it in this fight, but it would have had no effect in Superman anyway as explained in the video Isn’t omen just weaker mastered ultra instinct? Not much reason for Goku to use that here Goku actually did use his ‘susano’ form at the very end. It came out and punched Superman in the middle of the final kamehameha.

So really there was no new material to work with at all lol (not to mention the fact that GvSM 2 just used the cut contents of the original script and didn't do any new research, so it was actually just an epilogue rather than an actual rematch)

I dedicate today’s gym training to Akira Toriyama. To all others who started working out to be like Goku, I lend you all my power. When I was in high school, I weighed 330 pounds. My motivation to get down to 190 was fueled almost entirely by anime. I watched these characters jump, run, fight and embrace so much pain with a smile that it turned all the difficulty into motivation. I felt like I was right there with them. And though I can’t do a kamehameha, the spirit lights a fire under me to this very day. Rest in peace, sensei

Makes sense. Superman rarely ever gets a chance to actually blow off steam outside of stressful, life-or-death battles or the occassional uninhabited moon for him to take out his anger on (see when Lex Luthor became President). That must be exhausting. So having a friendly spar against someone who can keep up with him, with absolutely NO consequences attached (because Super Dragon Balls) would probably be a huge breath of fresh air.

Exactly, even though Superman is unmatchable, he still cares about the experience. It's a no-brainer that Superman would win because he's just, well Superman, but it was a great decision to have him respect Goku as an equal and vice versa (even though Superman cannot be hurt in this case). As you said it was a spar, not a fight and it worked perfectly. It felt like 2 friends just being bros, I love the direction Death Battle went with for this version, very fresh idea.

“But I’ll be stronger next time.” “I look forward to it.” It took three Death Battles, but Goku finally drew Superman out for what’s essentially an intense spar. This is my headcanon for them really- Superman gives Goku a goal to aspire to, an opponent that pushes him to be better. While Goku gives Supes a chance to embrace his power with someone who not only can take his hits, but relishes the chance to challenge him. This was well done and wholesome. One of the best Death Battles so far.

This comment gets it, it's more than just who can out pace the other. Superman has explicitly stated about how the entire world feels like cardboard, and how he needs to exercise extreme control as to not break something or some one. One of the few people he can actually let loose with is an evil god from a separate planet who seeks an equation that puts everyone under his control with despair. Goku would be one of the few good people who would consistently challenge superman, and one where Superman can throw down and actually get close to his limit. He can let go of a lot of the control he exercises and stretch his wings. Their actual interaction would be pretty wholesome, with Goku possibly being the clingy partner constantly asking for a sparring sesh with superman.

The climax of this episode hits differently now with Akira Toriyama's passing.

That scene at the end when Goku stares down a sun-charged Superman and excitedly says, "Finally!", then begins to glow blindingly bright as he charges his Supreme Kamehameha gives me chills every time. It's so epic.

I like that he made that reference because Goku may be the only person who would truly understand what he means by it even moreso than darkseid or Supergirl .

I like how superman is smiling throughout the fight, showing that he's having as much fun as Goku is in these battles

Superman used to really enjoy fighting, as well as his super smarts, but people seem to ignore him being a martial artist. He's not as skilled as Wonder Woman, but that doesn't mean he's not skilled at all.

I just gotta say the voice actors for these two KILLED it. Goku's final Kamehameha was god damn chilling. Props to the voices ❤️

This somehow topped the incredible endings of Scooby Vs. Courage and Rick Vs. Doctor, this season has legit been one of the best ever, possibly my favorite.

I love how they recognize that Superman would jump at the chance for a no holds barred fight, especially if there were no repercussions

The biggest improvement in this one is the way Superman is written. He was so joyless in the first two.

I may not be a Dragon Ball fan, but it's clear that Akira Toriyama had a massive influence on pop culture as we know it and changed the lives of millions for the better. Rest in peace, you absolute legend.
