No he wasn’t because even after the kamehameha gokus shocked to see his head missing and exclaims “oh no, did I do something bad?” showing he wasn’t intending to kill him. He thought he’d (Megametallitron) be strong enough to live but still be taken out by it.

I know, it looks beautiful, it's really making me wonder how Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z would look if they were both reanimated entirely with this level of animation quality. Reanimating Dragon Ball for a new generation would be cool af and it'd keep it alive because a lot of kids today might look at DBZ and compare it to something modern like MHA or JJK and say that it looks too old and decide not to watch it.

I miss the OG voice for kid Goku. Funimation must be smoking something for replacing her. You'd think Toei Japan having the same voice for Goku through the years would have shown Funimation the value of being loyal to a character for the sake of the fans. ​@@night00glider because in older animation and manga, black characters or darker skinned characters would be depicted this way, which resembles blackface. Its probably something that came from western animation doing it, but mangaka/animators in japan likely didn't know that it was offensive to depict people this way by that point. Therefore you end up with character designs like mr popo. I doubt akira toriyama meant to be insensitive when designing mr popo, so i wouldn't say that its racust per se... its more like ignorance. And ofc after a while, designs like that didn't show up in dragon ball anymore, so he improved.

@@night00glider ehhh kinda yes kinda no. Its best to avoid designing black characters like that *now* since there is less ignorance on how to do it, and there are plenty of examples of well designed black characters in anime that don't have the exaggerated lips. I forgot his name but there's a character in fire force that is a pretty good example. His design is honestly pretty damn good and that made me feel recognized and properly represented in a medium that I enjoy. Some characters with the exagerrated lips will get a pass for one reason or another tho. Because usually when a character has that design, they are from an older work, so it can be excused.
