@@rugfixr I'm not sure what you mean by that. I have a feeling you are referring to black people speaking with a heavy amount of slang, or regional accents. Surely we assume people with certain accents are ignorant, poor, or in some cases affluent, but stereotypes aren't necessarily true. Is a person dumb if they are from the west coast and speak full-on valley girl, or southern Texas with a prominent drawl, or an absurd new york accent? Or are they simply speaking in an interesting and artistic way?

Most of those I know who have read the manga first didn't like the Hollywood version of it. The manga series of the 1990's was a Japanese cyberpunk story. The movie was a western millennial adaptation so they had to add lot of today's romantic twist to the plot that go against the taste of true Japanese cyberpunk fans. Japanese cyberpunk is all about the tragedies for the lower class people when the ideals of science & technology progress for the benefit of mankind meet the reality of the elite class greed for wealth and power. Everyone in the lower classes are addicted to dream stories of how to reach the top. But those are only lies promoted by the elites to divide them into competing factions. I recommend you to read the manga (or watch the anime series )Akira if you want to know more about Japanese cyberpunk. The mangakas are in the lowest class of story tellers and Hollywood is the elite of story tellers, I didn't expect they could really respect the story of the original manga. But they tried. Maybe that's why you were confused, my guess is you are the kind to look for the deeper meanings before you can feel that you understand something.

The trouble is that American history and Russian history have a lot of disturbing parallels. In America, the Natives were either killed off or pushed onto small, unwanted pieces of land. In Russia, in Siberia, the same thing very often occurred. Both countries have strong imperialistic tendencies. Given this similarity, it's inevitable that they won't get along where politics and military ambitions are concerned.

Years ago I used to go to Costco to buy a couple of their hot dogs and then 'smuggled' them into the nearby movie theater to enjoy once the lights went down. I got tired of making the extra trip before the movie so I quit this practice and now if I don't eat a meal before leaving home I end up spending around twenty bucks U.S. for a couple of theater hot dogs, a medium soda (usually cherry Coke), and a small popcorn. But, heck - since the pandemic began last year I haven't been to a movie theater and have streamed everything at home.

Best to avoid this stuff lol at the movies, usually prety pricey. But you know, now a days. Movies are eh, bland. You can enjoy most movies at home now a days, without having to splurge. I do believe the whole movie going urge will die out, its more like a boomer concept, kinda like their dying malls for example, certain parts of certain countries, tend to keep these ideas afloat, like malls, cinemas..While modern countries with availability of goods and entertainment, and such, will abandon the malls and cinema, things.

Yes, all food and drink is overpriced at a first run movie theatre. In the US, $0.25 of popcorn, $0.40 of buttery oil, $0.01 of salt, and a $0.35 tub is sold for $8-10. Simply put, the real money they make is the refreshments. If no one bought them, it would quickly become run down and soon after close.

Your friends seems so nice and you are all such good and moral young ladies. It is refreshing to see. American girls could learn much from you, as they exist in America with so much and are so spoiled, and take for granted what you cherish and have difficulty in obtaining there.

I'm just now watching this video -- I like this episode of your VLOGs! Yes, indeed, the theater that you go to looks very much like the ones that I also go to watch films (I'm in Cleveland, Ohio - USA). Your friends look like excellent confidants to have, and they shouldn't be worried about speaking English - it's not my first language neither, and lots of English-speaking folks are fine/patient about any lapses we make, when speaking it. As for Alita: Battle Angel? I liked the film. It takes place in a post-apocalyptical world, where those who are on Earth's grounds are common people, and those in the skies, are the elites. The Dr. who finds Alita was surprised to find an artificial intelligent robot that was discarded, and so he repairs her, and basically raises her like her daughter. But? Alita has a past, which was shown in the "flashbacks" - She was a battle android, who fought a losing battle with her combat team, and now, the folks from the sky city (Zalem) are now after her. Anyway, love these VLOGs! :-)

In Spain, the food and beverages you can buy inside cinema theatres are usually SO overpriced, that I think most people don't buy them... and the most daring individuals often try to sneak inside food and beverages bought elsewhere.

Hello -- loved the video. Reminded me almost exactly as going to a movie in the 1970's with friends ------ except of course for ordering tickets online and seeing Alita. I really enjoy seeing how other folks get by since I'll never get to see in person. Great video's young Lady. No -- actually here we used to smuggle in snacks ---- we would by popcorn and coke tho, In the 80's the soda turned into wine. :)

Thank you for taking me on a journey to the cinema!!! I do buy Coca~Cola & popcorn at the cinema. I understand how you feel about some Russian cinema. I am from Canada. Most Canadian cinema is forgettable. I do enjoy different European movies and I HAVE seen some Russian cinema that I have enjoyed but we do not see much Russian movies here. That should change, I hope. As long as a movie has subtitles, I'm willing to watch it. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

I really like Alita: Battle Angel. You chose a very good movie to see. In America, cokes and popcorn and the other food items you can buy are MORE expensive than the tickets to the movie. It is big scam to take all your money, in my opinion. Food does not need to cost as much as you pay for at the "movies".

Hi girls ! Always eat before you go to cinema..or bring food in your bag... no one needs to pay those prices.. in pandemic times, make popcorn, drink Pepsi 😉 and watch movie at home... you can talk and laugh all you want, and stop movie when you want..

Pretty much the same as cinemas here in the US, but we also have other options, higher end Cinemas that will cost a little more, but they have leather recliners or couches, will serve food and drinks. My favorite (before having children) were Cinemas that had rows like this one, but also small tables and can you order a pitcher of beer or glass of wine and a pizza along with other fun food. It just made it more fun and it was good date place or for a group of friends on a Saturday night.
