Nubzombie on KZread and twitch managed to figure out all the posters and Easter eggs in the game…he has the best run through the game…your history lesson is the really good though and covers things he doesn’t

hi gamingmuse have you played Whispering Hills?

Ugh I want to play SH1 again so badly! I have it bought and down loaded on my PS3 years ago, it looked good but I couldn’t save progress and couldn’t get past the cafe😂😂 I can’t get through SH one in one play….i still get scared to death 😅 is there any way to play on newer systems? It never comes out on Playstore anymore

PC + emulator + controller is always your best bet with older games

SH2 remake has me feeling like James rn at the end of the game on the bad ending. I just want to put the original SH2 in a car with me and drive into a lake, escaping from the harsh reality that Konami fucking blows.

The only way a Silent Hill game by Ninja Theory would work is for Konami to be totally hands off, I feel.

On the matter of changing languages, not so long ago I discovered that the EU release has language options. English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Just popped in my disk to be extra sure which ones it where. Though I thought it's only the in-game text and subtitles that change. I can only certainly tell now it doesn't translate the main menu and in game menu (They stay in English).

Interesting! I wonder if that's because the same disc was released to those nations, ie there was an American vers with only English and a European vers that had all the official Euro languages on it. It'd be interesting to see if the Japan/HK version has Japanese and Chinese

@@thegamingmuse As a fan and former Japan expat, I've always enjoyed watching your material and seeing you grow as an expert. Sometimes I wish I could improve my own skills in production like this and it would be cool to collaborate with you.

16:43 I would agree that argumentative (antagonistic) communication is unnecessary. However, that is not the only way to describe the approach of Twin Perfect. Sure, their approach was edgy, but it had a lot in common with stand up comedy and less with trolling (as they've been accused of). I'm close to their age and demographic so I do understand their background and humor (though I rarely joke like them with strangers any longer). That said, I find the reason most people find them too overbearing is because of how well they make their arguments. Of all the SH commentators, they've been the most thorough and accurate about all their points. I think one of the main reasons people find them hard to follow is the fact that they can't eat their cake and have it too. TP forces you to evaluate Konami's choices with a logical and cogent basis, but most "fans" that agree with TP want to just let Konami fudge the canon and to just let "anything go". TP care about the author's original intent, while non-purists simply don't care and are more-or-less just fans of horror in general, but not bona fide SH fans. I think you're a centrist in this case who is capable of performing a lot of mental gymnastics to square the round peg here.

I'm not someone who enjoyed that style of humor, so I could never get into their content; but as far as the arguments go, you are probably right, they have earned a fanbase for a reason. Myself, I'm simply far more willing to approach each work as its own stand alone existence, to accept it for what it is and not try and create a perfect "canon" excising this and that game as being too far from "the true" creation. After all, Toyama was the heart of SH1 and he never worked on the series again. It's a shifting landscape, and I think being too focused on the negative just makes ... well... makes you come across really negative and angry and makes people feel negative and angry and then you get the smear campaigns and angry bullying that happened against team devs who had nothing to do with the problems people were mad about. It's a thing I think a lot of the internet had to learn over the 2010's into today, as we all realized how easily the net can be turned into a weapon as we all got older and youtube got way bigger.

​@@thegamingmuse yeah, when you brought up TP I was like "ah yes, the Silent Hill elitists." They did do a lot of research and I agree with a lot of their takes, but they're Team Silent Purists which is, imo, boring and exclusionary. I liked their SH videos back in the day, but that was before you showed up and replaced them as my favourite SH expert ❤
