In the novel, the reason he brought out shimo when he did cayse is that he knew kong could kill him yeah he's more agile but kong is just built different abd kept having to get saved by shimo

The fact that Kong’s rage comes from Mini-Kong’s cries. It really gets to me.

What makes Skar King actually terrifying is that he's lot smarter than any kaiju's we've seen so far. He's not as strong as Kong, definitely not stronger than Godzilla but he has control over Shimo. If Shimo wasnt there, the great ape community can just outnumbered Skar but since he has Shimo under his control he has the power of frostbite

It's not really about him caring about Suko. Ofc he cares about him a lot but I think the main reason he got pissed is because this was his first time seeing apes like him and they were immediately getting killed.

At 1:07 the look on Kong's face "WHAT'S HE PLANNING" or something like "OH NO DON'T DO IT". Subtlety is so awesome

We literally see Skar King land several hits on Kong and nearly choked him to death before he got grabbed and ragdolled by Kong. In short, he had every advantages he need to take down Kong, but decided to take the easy way out and call upon his pet for assistance.

This to me proves we don’t need human characters all we need are these emotional behemoths so much is conveyed without any words

This is a crazy scene when you think about it The kongs are the size of a 30-40 story building They are basically battling in a cave the size of the Grand Canyon inside of a cave that’s EASILY 10,000 feet high that could easily fit Manhattan & Los Angeles inside of it

I have always pictured how big the other kongs and hollow earth creatures if they were on the surface. They would be gigantic if they were in a city (with humans as well). When it’s just them in hollow earth, they look small

Won't call him a coward, because he willingly fought Kong and almost defeated him. More like when Kong threw him, he realised that Kong is stronger than him and that he the strongest, largest, and most physically fit ape there, and he can't bully him, like the others. He also puts his rule in danger, as he almost defeated him in a 1v1 fight. So he said: "Okay, big monke, round 2 it is!" And summoned Shimo to show fear and dominance.
