To any "this godzilla's breath is stronger" arguments, I'd say Godzilla is Godzilla and if a Godzilla can do this then any other can do the same thing given the situation. The difference is that those specific ones just had the oppertunity to show off to shoot an asteroid from space, drill the earth, neutralize a blackhole, cut through bulidings, etc.

Well...the blu ray was dark too. I've never had a hard time telling what was happening in the film either in the theater or at home...but that's just me. It's a legitimate complaint but, frankly, I think that it's just a complicated film to get to look "right" because it's so visually rich and there's not enough competent projectionists (if there are any at ALL) or readily available info about TV/player settings to make up for it. The new 4K UHD disc coming out this month (I think) of this movie is going to have an improved transfer that addresses this issue. Should be beautiful..

Same thing that plagued pacific rim. However I think the only moment that was really suffering was Godzilla sprinting🤦🏼‍♂️ it made me chuckle a little to be honest because his slow movements like the way he moved when he went full nuclear? Way more intimidating than the sprint at the beginning of the fight. I hope there’s a healthy balance for gvk. I want realism but also something outlandish like kong smacking Godzilla with a cruise ship or Godzilla smashing kong through a mountain.

Once the female Muto was defeated the city and all that she influenced turned back to normal, including the boat with Ford, that got a pulse way after the city, yet it jumped into action as soon as the lights returned. So with the death of the male Muto everything he affected turned back to normal, including the Big G.

The monster fights where a lot of fun. Yet they didn't match the scale of the 2014 movie. Perspective-wise they went so far off from what made the 2014 movie work so well, it hurts me. The fight in the arctic was great, cause they tried to work in the magic of the first movie. Yet they didn't stick with it. And that hurt the overall quality.

Best Scene in the movie. God I remember going to see this movie almost ten years ago, and everyone absolutely losing their shit when his tail started to light up blue and that electric humming noise gradually getting louder. Legit, everyone stood up and started clapping and cheering when he finally did use his atomic breath. This scene really was the scene that sold this movie for me when I first watched it. And the absolute epicness of this scene overall to reveal his atomic breath in the way it did, after being devoid of any Godzilla movies for a decade leading up to the 2014, it just had me as pumped as I could be

I wasn't convinced they were even going to do this, but the minute I saw that slight glow going up his spikes I was like "oh yes yes YES!!!"

I've always thought the sound of the the atomic breath charging should be the sound of mega-mans gun charging up

I remember seeing this movie with my parents. It was the last movie we saw together as a family. We all got super happy when he did the breath.

It was very smart to not include any atomic breath footage in the trailers. This was a pleasant surprise.

This was insane to see even as someone who wasn’t into the old movies. Haven’t seen them but I was aware of this power. Can’t imagine being a fan of the original movies and going through this whole movie up to this point wondering if it would happen and then seeing this. The reveal was incredible and must have had Godzilla fans screaming.

2:38 the CGI artists made him move REALLY, really fast here. It even looks 'believable' But at this scale, that's like his entire end body/tail moving at a good 300-400mph lol

And to think we thought his atomic breath was weak, now in 2021 he made a huge wide whole to the hollow earth with just his breath.

It was weak back in 2014. He barely managed to defeat the female Muto with it. It took him 3 whole charges (2 scenes, one has 2 charges in it, which only weakened the Muto). But then he got boosted by Serizawa's sacrifice, so his iconic weapon got an upgrade as well. Plus add Mothra's sacrifice to the mix, that's 2 power ups in one movie between Goji 2014 and GvK.

The tension, the timing, waiting and building up, background music, and human emotion to keep the scene grounded the most perfect scene in the monsterverse so far.
