This (2014) Godzilla movie is better than Godzilla Vs. Kong (2021).

I love how they made a 'cage' for the MUTO but within 5 minutes of it bursting out of the spore, he's already destroyed the cage and flew away lol

A lot of people didn’t like how little the monsters were shown, but the movie took itself seriously and showed them so little to maximize when they were on screen and it paid off. For me king of monsters was fun and all over the place and corny, so I enjoyed it but it was definitely not as good. And Gareth edwards is the master of showing size and he really made these monsters feel otherwordlyt

The problem was that this movie wasn't any less corny than KOTM, but it tried way too hard in some areas where it clearly needed to realize that it was just going to come out corny anyways. That and the lackluster directing given to the actors, the fairly bad overall script and story the audience follows, really hurt this film. Also, it's named Godzilla, and he barely features in the movie itself, with Water being about as relevant a character as Godzilla himself is.

@@burningwolf_9679 really? look I liked the director in his smaller films but the characters here were REALLY bad outside of Watanabe and Cranston, and it happened again in Rogue One, another slate of bad characters but great shots.

This is horror mixed with Kaiju film ....Love this vibe... You can be terrified ...that's what we naturally feel if we saw Kaiju in real life...

One of the best CGI sequences ever! Right up there with the original "Jurassic Park" initial T-Rex sequence.

I gotta admit tho this is probably the 2nd “scariest” scene in the Monsterverse simply because of how tense it is and it feels really realistic and eerie. While the 1st scariest scene is the big spider from Kong skull island.

2:40 to 2:50 just give me goosebumps

My friend called the MUTOs "cockroaches" when he first saw this movie lol

You know something interesting? The minute that this muto hatched, it woke up muto prime.

The real problem is people like you exaggerating the darkness in this film. It's not "pure blackness". If it's like that to you, then either your TV's brightness is very low, or you have vision problems, just because it has realistic lighting doesn't mean it's unable to be seen. My family and I were able to see the Monsters just fine in this film when we watched it.

Yeah, I did get a bit annoyed because I wanted to see the Kaijus/Titans fighting, but I feel like it made their appearances all the more intense and important and the MUTOs actually felt like a threat but Godzilla as well. Even though it was hard to see because of how dark the movie was. I still loved it!

I remember watching this and I literally said out loud, *”Aww they built a cage for it, that’s cute.”*

The first time I saw the Muto I was impressed how great and terrifying they are!

I grew up on this movie, it will never be bad in my eye because I watch it with my parents

I literally put in this 4K movie just to watch this scene and hear the beauty of the MUTO's EMP in my two subwoofers. Makes me never regret the money I spent. Get a sound system and let it rip with this scene! Trust me!

When two massive parasitic creatures threaten all life on the planet, an ancient alpha predator named Godzilla rises from the ocean depths to hunt them down.

Lot of people arguing down below on which Godzilla film is best, honestly though I go with what one KZreadr I saw belief, all are the best in showing the three different versions of godizilla. 2014 shows of the darker eras of Godzilla with its more grounded movie with some great scale shots, though can be a little hard to see the fights well. Kom is the era of Godzilla’s 2000 where most time he was an antihero so we had a serious but less dark tone, with some of the best fights, though we loose the scale. And Godzilla vs kong is the era where Godzilla first turned good, our most goofy but also full of our most extravagant ideas

I still didn't like how they had Brian Cranston in the film, which had a lot of people go "Ooh the guy from Breaking Bad! I love that guy!" only to then kill him off really quickly. Ah well, at least its about the monsters.. wich they should have shown more. The MUTO's were cool tho.

RIP to all those phone batteries out there which died much quicker from the brightness being at its highest
