This is completely fiction. No animal has ever existed anywhere close to this size. Humans definitely are insignificant, though. I'd worry more about a space rock on a collision course or a supervolcano than a giant monster. We've killed off most the big animals that were direct threats to us.

I appreciate the director and sound engineers' attention to situational detail. Kongs roars and grunts were so distinct and really portrayed his desperation to get loose to take on Godzilla. Not sure how they did it, but fantastic job.

logical dude screaming while releasing all the air inside his body. Very realistic...... if he actually died.

I gotta admit, going into this movie i was rooting for Godzilla all the way but this scene really made me feel "naw Kong better get free, I'm not accepting a win unless it's a fair fight" and by the finale, all this movie did was keep me as a huge Godzilla fan but also appreciate Kong much more than I have before !

Godzilla looks like a bad guy because this is from the perspective of Kong and the humans transporting him. When it switches to Millie Bobby Brown and her team, it is fron Godzilla's perspective. This movie is in dual pov. In the end, it all becomes clear when they team up.

Godzilla was never the bad guy. He just doesn't get emotionally involved, true to his character of being a reptile. Kong is different, he socially bonds emotionally with people and protects them. Godzilla is about keeping the balance of the world while Kong is about protecting the things he loves.

true, but it may come from that the canons were pretty loud at a very unexpected time. He didnt know that they would come at such an unexpected time. This scared Kong a little or something, and then he covered his ears because he wasnt prepared for it. But when he roared back at Godzilla, he knew that Godzilla would create a high sound, making him prepare fot it and being more ready to take the high volume. You can also see that he's trying to back up from the sound when Godzilla roars, and that he is kind of making a grimace that shows that he finds the sound very high and uncomfortable. But otherwise i do agree with your comment haha

Probably my favorite monster movie fight, Godzilla’s badass entrance and the tension that builds as kong isn’t able to get free make it all the more engrossing.

The art direction, sound design, and digital FX really capture of frustrated Kong was at being chained up.

This scene is a masterpiece!

This movie goes so hard visually. Likke the tracking shot on Godzilla's fins as he breaches the surface and breaks the boat at 0:48, or how his tail at 1:10 looking like a tentacle sticking out of the water.

kong has zero chance against godzilla under water and not much better on land. he needs all the help he can get.

This scene was excellently well done. Perfect action and tense to the bone!

Hands down here... ALL the fight scenes here between the monsters including MGZ were superbly thought & executed with much unpredictability. This IS the BEST monsters with heart & reasoning (not just mindless giants) movie of ALL TIME.

I like the detail when Kong roared and Godzilla roared back under the water, pretty epic.

Notice one thing...the humans attacked first and Godzilla didn't bother with them until they fired at him and he retaliates? The only reason he destroyed the planes and carriers in his path was because they attacked first.

This scene was cool but would have been better had it lasted longer. The idea of Godzilla circling the ships like a massive shark, with Kong leaping from ship to ship, would have been really something.

Godzilla doesn’t need to circle the ships though. He can just cut right through them with his back dorsal plates and his tail.

Before this film came out, Godzilla was portrayed as a protector of mankind, while here, he is portrayed differently. I think that after the defeat of Ghidorah, Earth went into a time of peace, and thus, Godzilla was at peace. But when humans mettled with Ghidorah's brain while developing Mecha-Godzilla, Godzilla became angry because the peaceful earth he had built was being threatened. Thus we see him killing humans with no remorse here, as he no longer cares for them like he used to and they were getting in the way of him fighting Kong. Makes sense really. Kong on the other hand always wanted to be left alone in his Skull Island home, but recently developed a connection with humanity, to the extent that he willingly allowed himself to be transported by boat. As an adolescent, Kong cared little for humans, but as he grew, he warmed up to them. Poor Kong was so depressed in this movie.

Everyone who survived, now has cancer due to Godzilla's radioactivity

Actually no. Godzilla and the other titans feed and absorb radiation in the Monsterverse. Now getting hit with atomic breath, sure, but then again if you're that close to it then it doesn't matter cause you're dust

I like how godzilla casually destroys those ship with his fins and tail, but not only a few mins later, is able to stand on the ships lol

Notice one thing...the humans attacked first and Godzilla didn't bother with them until they fired at him and he retaliates? The only reason he destroyed the planes and carriers in his path was because they attacked first. Seriously, guy's just defending his territory. You don't bring a Alpha creature into another Alpha's domain unless you are picking a fight.

Bro they were trying to to take kong to hollow earth where he came from. They first thought to take him by sea they did avoid all of godzillas territorial routes and some how still came to kong because godzilla is the king and king kong is also an alpha titan godzilla just came to make kong bow down to him

It did hurt because some of that shots hits on his gills which is what happened to original Legendary Godzilla from 2014 before he smashed Golden Gate Bridge.

00:02 An enraged 1300 tonne gorilla bashing a piddly 40mm steel deck would f that ship beyond any reasonable payback of cost-to-repair after the first strike, and certainly would have caused the humans onboard more discomfort than just a light jiggle.

It's not stop motion. The men in suits were amazing! If they don't win an Oscar I must revolt. And the models, the set...all perfectly done by the special effects team who had to meticulously build each carrier and destroyer by hand. Epic.

When Godzilla splits an Iowa class battleship in two, this is one of my favorite parts of the movie showing even the most technologically advanced sapient species is insignificant to non-sapient gods.

It wasn't even a normal Iowa class. If you look closely you can see superstructures that look similar to the Arleigh Burke class. So it's a heavily modified Iowa. A great scene.

He essentially does that in Hong Kong. In this scene Kong has his hands full just surviving. The sea is Godzilla's home field. Nothing can match him there.

I'm very happy with how this movie turned out. Never I expected a Godzilla/King Kong movie to become mainstream and break the box office record in this pandemic. Long live the kings of cinema, baby. #continuethemonsterverse

i love how godzilla is pictured as pure chaos. if you manage to divert it the way you want, it can save mankind...or destroy it.

My expectations werent too high for this movie going in. Thought it just was a quick cash out on the Kong and Godzilla concept. But I was pleasantly surprised. I like this movie
