Godzilla (PS4) James & Mike Mondays

Ойындар

Let's Play Godzilla for PS4! This week we try out the new Godzilla game for PlayStation 4. Released 2014 in Japan 2015 in the US. Sadly, the game has no local co-op - it's only online multiplayer =( We were disappointed by this, but we also tried out Destruction Mode and Kaiju mode which were decent.

DirtEVids Yeah pretty much. The graphics look okay to me because I'm used to looking at Godzilla games for NES and SNES. But I totally agree, the graphics don't look like something you'd expect for a game released in 2014/2015. - Mike

Cinemassacre The Graphics would be acceptable if it were more of a budget release. Also the only saving grace this could have would be couch co-op. I hate that nowadays its all about online co-op but not couch co-op. How hard would it be to program couch co-op if you already have online co-op.

Xalener Balener Nah, you see there's a different scale for graphics in games, theres a regular scale which has GTA, Halo, Battlefield, etc. and then there's a movie game scale. a good way to determine whether or not a movie game has good graphics in it, is to look at the best graphics in a new game, and just 1/3 of that, makes good movie game graphics. this game actually scores pretty high in movie game graphics.

Not to mention you get unparalleled graphics if you have the cash. Also, even though it's really weird, PC is pretty much the best place for local multiplayer now. Just hook up your computer to your TV since PC is the place with the most local multiplayer now. I still have a PS4 but it is not even close to on level with the PC even on just the gaming aspect.

Kain Motthasmews ....Most gamers have old and new school and can balance them. I have nes,sega,xbox,ps2-3 and ps4. You're missing out on incredible games, stories and playing friends online when they are NOT sitting right next to you. When you're older and your buddies have their own families the online vs play and talking to them over a headset is amazing and convenient. But I know what you mean sometimes tossing in a older game is just what you need.

here's my story. you don't have to read. i have the xbox 360 and i played online a bit in high school like 5 or 6 years ago. It was fun, but after a while it became too expensive for how often i played which became less and less. and my friends stopped buying subscriptions as well so there was no point to keep playing. I hated playing with randoms online so there was on point to that either. also trying to keep up with the constant call of duties and halos including the DLCs just so i could keep playing with my friends. it became too much. To me, nothing beats a friend coming over, and impulsively deciding to play a multiplayer game while having a few drinks or something. it doesn't cost any extra, and there are no updates or DLC to worry about. Occasionally i'll find a single player game for my ancient xbox 360 that i'll play and enjoy. Like fallout or bioshock or something. But updating them just because they aren't completed by launch is highly irritating. I have no plans to get the ps4 or xbox one at this stage because none of the games interest me. maybe a wii u, there's some good games on that.

***** I'm saying you should know about the basics of a game if you're going to sit there and give your opinion on it for your audience to watch. They own a PS4 and have never even heard of Plus? The moment they saw the splash screen for PS+ should have tipped them off that they were accessing an online play feature. Back them up all you want, they still came off as old goofs who don't know jack shit about any modern consoles today. That's totally fine, go back to doing old classic shit. Just don't expect people to point out the obvious facts when playing modern stuff.

I also wanted to make sure I knew all the moves and, most importantly, how to save the game before I started. Now my stance has kinda shifted to thinking that the game itself should teach you how to play (preferably through good level design rather than lengthy tutorials), but I still have fond memories of them.

DylanRocket Most fans actually say they only like it because they get to see all the monsters but regard it as pretty bad otherwise. I don't think most fans who have played both the PS2 versions and this one would take this over them. Why do you keep defending the game all over the comments system? It's a mediocre game based on a franchise you and others love. Instead of defending the game just because of it's namesake you and others should spread the word of what you like but be honest about what you dislike. If the game gets a sequel and the complaints are made heard well enough it is likely the second game will be much improved.

pejnismiggle To clear things up here: Sony never called it the "PlayStation 1". It was just "PlayStation". The "PlayStation 2" was released in 2000 and was officially shortened to "PS2" with an accompanying logo on the console itself. When the PS2 was released, the original PlayStation was redesigned and it was renamed "PS one" with that styling, although most people of course just shorten it to PS1. The PSX you refer to was definitely not a prototype of the PS2. In fact, it was released in 2003, three years after the PS2. As well as playing PS1 and 2 games, it also doubled as a DVR and had TV tuners. However, it didn't come with PlayStation controllers - you had to buy them separately. It was mainly an entertainment device that had the USP of having a built-in PlayStation. In fact, you could say it was precursor to the original PS3 which was also billed as a home entertainment system with its various ports on the original 60GB model. There was about six years between the release of the PlayStation and the PS2. The PSX name became the known shortened version of the name until the PS one. If you weren't there, then it's fair to assume that it should just be PS1 - but for those who grew up with the system, it's the name they will forever remember it by.

I love some of these comments about how James and Mike are old. As someone about there age, 34, I can relate. There was a time when you bought a game and it didn't need to patch on the release day, or at all. A time when multiplayer was possible with the person in the room, and you sat next to each other and talked trash. With all this technology, how can we just make fun games to sit back and enjoy. Where game play is the main point. It's the only reason Nintendo still exist. The way to kill Nintendo, like many newer gamers want, is to just make fun games that you have fun playing. It's a simple concept.

TheHorrorExperiment This generation is likely my last, too. I gave in to the temptation to buy a PS4, and I'm not really that impressed with it. Too much nickel-and-diming, constant patches/updates, the decrease in single-player games, paying to play online, Installs and Day One patches that make you wait extended periods of time to play your new game.... sigh. Not a lot to be excited about for me. Thankfully, I have a nice backlog of older, non-Internet systems and games that I can enjoy for decades to come.

Local Multiplayer is the reason why the Wii U is my No. 1 system for this gen. I have friends that I hang out with in real life and we love playing the shit out of the Wii U. Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Super Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends, hell even Zombi U, Bayonetta and Hyrule Warriors have brilliant 2 player modes, and they didn't even need local multiplayer, and yet they included it. It's just sad that local multiplayer/co-op is fading away out of existence in favour of online. Not even having the option to play local multiplayer is a thing anymore, it's either play by yourself or... play by yourself with others over the internet. I just had a thought, maybe they're trying to phase out local multiplayer so that people will buy more consoles and games so that they can play with their friends? Call me cynical, but that sounds like something the gaming industry would do today...

I didn't think I would, but I actually really like them as themselves. I've seen a bunch of their "normal" style videos, but something was slightly off with them. This one was pretty fun to watch and even though I'd figure out a lot quicker that there was no couch co-op, I would probably still be as confused as them when asked to log into P+ if trying to play with 2 controllers. Also not having local co-op in a game like this is unacceptable. It clearly isn't a resource issue, but rather something the developer decided to ignore.

If you play this game as an arcade game, one run at a time, it's actually pretty fun. I wish they'd give it another chance because as a huge Godzilla fan, it really does capture the feeling of playing an old movie. Watching them throw fits over things like the menu's explaining how to play a level really made them look like old men complaining about how complicated email is.
