^Rodan was not like starscream, more like soundwave. Rodan had no fear when fighting king ghidorah, went straight to fight the three headed golden dragon. And even though he was loosing he kept fighting till ghidorah finally stretched out his wings and shot a gravity bolt at his chest knocking him into the ocean. Then Rodan submitted to ghidorah because he knew he couldn’t win. But the thing is his allegiance Is always shifting, that is the only similarity I can see with starscream.

i love the voice they gave this creature, Rodan sounds like a living, *killing* , creature. very fitting for a beast of his size and ferocity.

For as ferocious as he is, this dude is SMART. He knows when to back down when he's outmatched, learned maneuvers by just seeing them once, and used his own natural features to his advantage, like trying to cook Mothra.

The only issue i have is that no living creature no matter how big is keeping up with a stealth bomber or any aircraft like it. They travel at over 600 mph so that big beast would get left in the dust.

Rodan’s not only pissed because people woke him from his slumber but also because people mistaken him for some big bird, birds have feathers, Rodan has scaly skin, scaly wing membranes, and he’s a pterosaur, well the original toho rodan’s are but the legendary, monsterverse Rodan is a flying reptile that pre-dates the pterosaurs and birds. Also the design for Rodan is epic in this film.

Pterosaurs we’re obligate quadrupeds on the ground and they weren’t scaly. Plus, it looks like Rodan actually has a lava-powered jet propulsion system in his wings (explains how the hell he’s so fast and nimble despite his size), which is obviously not something any actual pterosaur had.

Such a fierce and terrifying beast. Shame we didn't get to see more of that sky battle (Rodan vs Ghidorah), that would've been epic to see

@@rebirth36077 sadly Dougherty was forced to do it that way because in an interview he mentioned that with some monsters scenes he was forced legally by the studio to involve the humans along with the monsters and after watching the movie it's pretty easy to understand that this scenes are the monster fights

Rodan and Mothra can fly, they are supposedly lighter than the average kaiju (Rodan likely has caved bones like birds, and Mothra has an exoscheleton like insects) But yeah, that is one hell of a building

You know Rodan had his own film and he ate smaller monsters called meganula. These guys also woke up Megaguirus, their queen, in Godzilla vs megaguirus. I really, REALLY hope Rodan and Megaguirus fight. It wouldn’t be fitting to see Two Destroyer class titans fighting instead of one or two destroyer Titan vs one or two protector Titans

Holy crap I just noticed a super cool detail about this scene. So at 1:32 when Rodan is flying over the city and his downdraft is obliterating everything as he goes you can see the Church stays put. Architecturally and logically this makes sense because churches namely Catholic and other pre-reformation houses of worship, are almost entirely made of stone. This made them essentially immune to storms and all but the worst weather related disasters! Love that an animator actually took the time to include that little bit there.

Y’know, this scene does something awesome, that I can remember Pacific Rim did. All of the shots are CG’d in a way so it looks like a physical camera, a shot from afar in the town, a shot with camera shake and tilt like a plane, and the in cockpit cameras too. Makes it grounded and feel like you are actually in the action.

When i saw it in theaters i couldn’t believe how realistic everything looked and felt. Like i was right there with them.

His size literally changes every scene, sometimes he is the size of a building then sometimes a volcano then an entire town big

Uff, we can all agree that his movie was unexpectadly better and more ambitous than we initially thought it would be. I totally LOVE the titan we got to see and how unique they were from each other.

The movie got a whole lot more awesome when Rodan was introduced. He gave every scene he was in a kickass, roller-coaster feeling.

I just love his name, and especially how one of the female actor pronounce it as “ROW DAN” in one of the scene in the movie... But i was expecting more screen time for rodan.

Would’ve, could’ve but he didn’t and lost. Winning with cunning and smarts is still a valid win against a stronger opponent.

That was the scariest part of the movie there, Rodan flying down from the Volcano, and it's hurricane force tail wind destroying the city.

Human interference at its finest.

Rodan being the Starscream of the MonsterVerse -until Godzilla claims the kingship- for 5 minutes straight. Kidding, I love Rodan, he's my voracious volcano vulture boi...but he totally bent the knee, and fast, after getting his pyromaniacal posterior handed to him by Ghidorah. It was actually Ghidorah's yodeling that did it, but still rather mercenary of the titanic toasty turkey...

Damn, Rodan is Starscream but in monstersverse lol

I just love how Rodan woke up from his slumber and the first thing he does is wanting all the smoke from Ghidorah

Rodan fighting the jets was the best part of the whole movie. The lighting, the scariness of a giant flaming turkey right above you, just everything

Missed the scene where you see Ghidorah's silhouette in the clouds as lightening lights it up and Rodan is circling the city in the same shot.

The amount of experience and wisdom combined with determination and strength that this creature had was insane. He’s always been my fav (other than mothra)

A1pha Ch3rnovak Yes-humans “as a species” were the ones who initially released them. (I wasn’t referring to a specific group of people) Mothra, then King Ghidorah, then Rodan. The rest was a chain reaction of disastrous events. The message in this film is -don’t mess with Mother Nature-or “she”will unfortunately mess with you. Or the old saying - “Let sleeping giants lie”.

When I saw this on the big screen I got chills. Love what they did with Rodan

Man i love Rodan. A very underrated Kaiju in my opinion. Especially, in Fire Rodan form.

Nobody notices that they literally made Rodan kill and destroyed all of Mexico city when they made him follow the ship??? 😂 Crazy

Absolutely love the shots they have on Rodan, made him so terrifying and shows how big he is and that spin is just dmnnnn

My favorite kaiju is rodan. I wish they could make him a good kaiju (as in roles) like they did all the way back in the 1950's and 1960's

I still love that you see Rodan actually Bowing to King Ghidorah. And when he bows to Godzilla, his true king, we see he actually closes his eyes too. Also I love that little grin before he takes out all the fighters by rolling.

The sound FX in this film are so good

"I came out here to have a good time and I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now" *proceeds to destroy a town by flying over it*

Rodan is Kinda cute when he lets out the screech at 0:55

Besides King Kong, Rodan is the Kaiju we've seen with the most facial expressions

Offering allegiance one after another, this Rodan is like StartScream from deceptions 😅.

Imagine waking up and seeing your volcano blew up and a fire dragon come out of a volcano while the sky is red and everyone running

Nobody: Fighter Jets: Let's double fry this roasted turkey with more fireworks.

It's crazy to think how big Rodan is at the start but as soon as he is faced with Ghidorah, he is quite smaller than him.

Imagine waking up from a good nap and suddently a bunch of flying ants starts shooting little sticks on you, that would've got me angry too

Honestly I love how Rodan just kinda shows up outta no where. Everyone’s so focused on Godzilla and Ghidora and then he just pops up and starts destroying everyone and tries to throw hands with Ghidora. It would’ve been cool if he put up a better fight but he was still so awesome.

Godzilla doesn't even look all that annoyed to see Rodan. Just all like "Heh! You cocky little shit." And Rodan's all "MAN WHO WOKE ME UP FOR ALL THIS SHI-oh you doin' a thing now. Got it."

Rodan lands in front of Godzilla: I challenge! Godzilla: Bitch please. Rodan bows.

I hope that if Rodan returns we'll get a scene of him flapping his wings fast enough so that the flames at the end of his wings begin to create a heat storm so intense flames just combust on his target and everything around it.
