2:22 was the best scene of Mothra in the movie. The way her wings spread under the falls was so mystical it gave me chills when I saw it in the theaters the first time. They truly made her as beautiful, as she was a force to be reckoned with.

Also she has adaptation with each birth, so future Mothra's can have new features, like this Mothra had a stinger that previous incarnations didn't. Well, that's kinda evolution more than "adaptation with each birth", but Mothra evolves more quickly than other Kaijus, since she leaves many offsprings constantly aaaaaaaaall the time.

Lol there's been a fanbase for her since the 1960's when she made her debut, and she was every bit as courageous and self-sacrificing then as she is in this movie - hell, she's arguably responsible for the character development of the Big G himself going from the karmic representation of mankind's hubris to the protector of Earth we all now know him as. It's been stated that Mothra expected there to be twins singing to her when she hatched, and that she was angered when the containment field killed the insects that flocked to her. Given that lights exploded with a flash of her bioluminescense, it can be assumed that she knowingly and consciously shut down the containment field herself. And yet, she never killed anyone, just webbed them up. Though, whether or not the giant spiders around killed anyone is up for debate.

I think why we all like Mothra, besides her beauty and majesty of course, is because she showed NO FEAR in the face of certain death. Rodan mortally wounded her, but she puts his ass on the ground (you seem him writhing in pain on his back), she then goes and has the short "conversation" with Godzilla, showing him that he is not alone in the fight. Then she stares down Ghidorah and spreads her wings over Godzilla as if to say: "you shall hurt him again" and then she FUCKING CHARGES Ghidorah, dead set on fucking his ass up next (dying or not). She was fully ready to just drop the hammer on Ghidorah, never mind the danger to herself. That my friends is why Mothra is the Queen of the Monsters

She didn't even want to fight Rodan. Rodan was just in the way of her helping Godzilla so she had to deal with him. Also, Rodan was stabbed in a non-lethal spot and was most likely paralyzed until the end. The way he screamed when he fell made me think he was dead 😂 he was so dramatic.

Mothra doesn't fear death, per the KOTM official twitter and director. She represents life, death and rebirth and she knows it. She sacrifices herself knowing that as long as life exists, she will too. She has infinite respawns. She can afford to end her 20th life and starting her 21st a bit early.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw Mothra spread her wings at the water fall, or when she appeared as a bright light in the sky like an angel. Truly beautiful and badass at the same time.

I love the scene where Mothra climbs on Godzilla’s back and have that little moment. It’s like, “Hey, hon.”

The Mothra God Rays was done beautifully The humans find out the Ghidorah is controlling most of the other titans in the world to destroy the planet. Godzilla, the one Titan that can stand up and challenge Ghidorah is presumed dead. The weapons that the humans have have little to no affect against the Titans. Hope is lost for this world, as any attempt to fight Ghidorah would be suicidal. But just then from the sky is as if the heavens are shining. They hear a cry not a cry that is meant to do harm. And then the sky opens up and the area and sky is enveloped in a pure angelic light. From the sky she appears, Mothra Queen of Monsters.”

@Cristina Banuelos There's no romantic scene amongst Kaiju in any of the scenes. I mean, there was one where Mothra died protecting Godzilla, but not one single part of them being alone and not on each other's throats.

I like how despite a lot of times being quite cute and fluffy, she's also got a good amount of awesome badass in her too! That plus the fact that she's a gentle giant really adds to her character too! Hope to see her make a return honestly

Ha, I speculate that if they were humans, Mothra would be a college aged kid in her early 20s and Godzilla would be a grizzly middle aged man in his mid 40s.

She's really beautiful, my mother and I saw this on Blu-ray. She loved Mothra!!

Zilla is the name of the American monster that Toho literally bought the rights to and rebranded, just to have the real Godzilla murder onscreen. They went with the name Zilla because that movie took the "God" out of Godzilla.

At one moment, Rodan tries to attack Ghidora, but they beated the shit out of him. Then he picks a fight with Mothra, but he didn't realize she's strong as fuck and gets stabbed. And after everyone watched Godzilla disintegrate Ghidora, Rodan appears and bows to him. Rodan is the Starscream of this universe.

He was fighting mothra because Ghidorah told him too. He lost to Ghidorah and therefore had to do whatever Ghidorah wanted. I'm sure he would have rather not had to fight mothra if he had the choice.

aye, the most visually beautiful part of the film

I think despite how little screen time she got, the film makers really did her justice.

I really love the glowing luminescence on her wings and her Goddess Rays, and she deserved more than 5 minutes of screen time and a longer fight scene.

Watching this after Godzilla x Kong makes me love her even more
