Morgan Freeman is good, But Godzilla's internal voice should be James Earl Jones, or Samuel L Jackson.

Mothra's reveal was one of the most beautiful moments in the entire movie.

I think most people either had high-expectations or didn't know what to expect from a Godzilla movie. It delivered basically everything I hoped for, I felt like it fit in with the Showa years but with a modern setting and giant budget, and Godzilla's power-up at the end was amazing to see on the big-screen.

Honestly, i am kinda sick of the fact that people ignore that the monsters themselves have a ton of characterization, sure its subtle, and a lot of people ignore it for some reason, but its there. also the movie was more made for fans of the Toho stuff than the first, but that's a different conversation entirely.

The whole plot is literally placed right in front of you, and it succeeded when King Ghidorah took rule as King. Blah blah reclaim all monsters and make them roam earth. 2nd plot was taking back the King's crown for Godzilla to gain balance again.

Which sucks because Serizawa's death was literally nothing but a nostalgia grab. You could remove his sacrifice, and as long as someone sets the nuke off, or they drop it from the sub and book it so nobody has to die and the nuke goes off, Godzilla gets supercharged and the ending of the film is exactly the same. His sacrifice was not a necessary element to the films conclusion. So they wasted him for nothing but nostalgia. And THAT, my friend, is terrible writing sense on Dougherty's part.

Turns out king Kong will obtain a battle axe and the sharp bits are from Godzilla's spikes. So yeah this fight doesnt seem like it'll go down easy if ape man here is gonna nullify that atomic breathe while hacking away his skin with said axe, as much as I am still leaning on Godzilla to win because bias.

You keep showing Serizawa's last moment when you talk about the lackluster human side of the story. His final moment was probably the only moment in the human story that actually made any sense and gave his character the chance to single handedly do what he had always intended to do with his work with the Titans.

I properly cared about the humans in KOTM, I really did and I especially mourned Serizawa's death. I was engaged in their side of things. Did Skull Island probably deliver us , in a text book sense, "better" characters? Sure, I liked em plenty, but KOTM is such a roller coaster ride and weren't nearly as personable in their interactions. Kind of " by the numbers" not that it's a knock against the Skull Island humans.

Dude, this is my new favorite Godzilla movie.

This channel is the best of reviewing movies on all of KZread, he critiques the movie without alienating anyone. You can watch his videos loving or hating the movie and after watching it understand the critiques. Love your channel brotha keep it up! You have changed my view on many movies!

Two in one day?!? you're spoiling us.

9:01 they explain in the movie that the monsters Radiation causes new life to flourish. They even show a shot of San Francisco covered by a forest that grew only after 5 years.

The humans in KOTM weren't that bad. Some of them, yeah, but Dr. Serizawa, Madison, and Dr. Chen were all great characters, and Jonah, while we didn't get to see much of him, was a convincing villain. They were honestly an improvement over the cast in 2014, where only Brian Cranston's character was remotely memorable, 'art house' or not. Those characters at least had actors that emoted, at any rate. Milly Bobby Brown is one of the best young actresses right now, and I was pleased to see they gave her a fairly prominent role in this movie. I cared more about their family drama than I did the main guy in 2014, who just... his actor just blew chunks. I could not get behind his character because the guy had the emotional facial range of a doped up Toby Mcguire. And at the end of the day, they didn't have to care about the humans at all. The humans are -always- forgettable side notes in any Goji film, and only bring groanworthy plots that only have one purpose; bring us to the giant monsters. Given the criteria, they did pretty good with them in this film. I also legitimately did not see the plot twist with Dr. Russel (Emma) working for Jonah at first, though I admit fully that the reason she did so was unsatisfactory and I wish they'd given her better dialogue to explain her actions.

I loved both these movies. But then again, I do know a lot of the lore and have been a life long Godzilla fan. These movies paid homage to the origins of Godzilla as well as his original creators. Not to mention the fact that they helped the ever evolving mythos of the King of the Monsters to move forward. Bravo, Legendary.

I feel bad for the hate that the 2014 and 2019 movies receive, they are amazing for example with the plot of the first and the fight scenes in the second. The audiences wanted more action and less plot with the first and more plot with less action the second. I honestly don't understand what these people want. Lmao

I loved this movie I liked the characters despite their flaws and the titans were great and it is my favourite movie of all time

I really like this movie... the music... the monster... I cried when mothra died... and this is my first Godzilla movie ( the 90's doesn't count... it's was Jurassic park) and when mothra became a butterfly that shot was beautiful... in fact a lot of the shots are absolutely beautiful

Also the actor for Dr.Dre in Straight outta Compton was in Kong Skull Island as brooks

Cinema Addict that’s amazing. Seen it in imax twice. First time the theatre wasn’t loud. It was still good. But not loud. Then the 2nd time I saw it in same theatre, the sound was up and it was amazing. Felt it thru my bones.

If anything KOTM has multiple, multiple beautiful shots throughout the film. And i personally loved this movie. I dont give two sh*ts about the human characters in these movies.

Godzilla and King Kong are both really important to my family. My grandad hadn't gone to the movies in decades and we took him to see the godzilla before this one and king kong and now it's a tradition. He's seen every king kong and godzilla movie. Now my father, grandfather, brothers and I see the movies together. Three generations of one family sitting in a theater to watch a franchise we all know and love.

Monarch didn't try to kill godzilla, it was the U.S. government during godzilla and gidorah's second encounter. I loved Mothra in the films. Her vibrant colors and her kickass new design was so cool!

But they gota put the court room scene cause it puts you in the mood. Like you dont go from running around outside playing kick ball to busting a nut 30 seconds later. You slowly get in the mood. If that makes sence

When I was kid at home watching these movies, I only watched it for the monster fights. When the people appeared on screen, I sat in the floor playing with toys until the monsters came back on screen. I can’t recall one godzilla where there the human characters mattered. I actually agree with all the criticism but I still loved it! If you don’t take this movie to serious, you may just have a lot of fun. My IMAX experience was wonderful.

This is my favorite movie of all time for 2 reasons. 1. It's basically everything I could ask for in a movie: A fun story that I can get invested in, engaging and interesting characters, and genuinely well executed visuals that make it feel real. 2. My personal nostalgia for Godzilla as a character, as well as the movie itself. It was the one that cemented Godzilla as my favorite fictional character, as well as being a basically last hoorah between me and my best friend, who, whilst we still talk, I've grown just a little bit distant from.

The only reason I know of Ghidorah is because of Minecraft mystery box games

I don’t care about the characters. These fight scenes is why I paid money for! Go watch a Oscar movie for character development!

The soldiers from Monarch didnt drop the bomb that killed Godzilla, it was the military and they did it without consulting monarch. Did you even pay attention to the movie? The military keeps saying from the beginning that they dont think Godzilla is on their side. Emma was crazy, that was the whole point. I do agree that Maddy could have been written better and just shown to be in Emma's control instead of rejecting her dad. But Chandler had genuine character motivations towards saving his daughter. And actually made sense for him to keep going back into the action. He was definitely more interesting than Quicksilver and actually looked awake throughout the movie. Vera did not release every other titan. they only did Rodan in that volcano. Gidorah woke up the other titans. Lannister senior even points it out to her , and she says she didnt release them. Watanabe didnt die immediately because while the place was boiling hot, the radiation was more lethal. They couldnt go in and told Watanabe that his body would fail cause of radiation. not heat. Also, dramatization. Its a godzilla movie for god sakes. The facilities that were designed to keep the titans, were only functional theoretically. 1. they only had to secure the titans as they were dormant/asleep/hibernating. 2. Vera was the first one to awake a titan on purpose using ORCA. - Mothra Her husband and her had only ever created a prototype and abandoned it before he left. They discuss this on the ship Argo. His wife created one again in 3 years without him knowing. Monarch knew about the machine, and were curious to see what happens, so they didnt stop her. They just didnt think she would go nuts. 3. the humans dont know anything about the titans, That was the whole point of the submarine sequence. How would they know to create facilities that could contain them? The whole point of the senate debate was that Monarch doesnt know how to contain/control these creatures and so military wants permission to eliminate them. Thats why the navy had the oxygen missile ready. Only mistake I found in the movie was that the bad guys all walk out of the room in order for Millie to steal ORCA. Which is just some bond villain level bullshit. God the human villains in this movie are absolutely terrible. I usually really like LME, but this video has a lot of mistakes only shoehorned in for 'comedy' sakes. Yall dont usually do that. What happened? Did you get paid to hate on this movie? Its like a cinema sins video.

i barely know anything about godzilla but i loved it (all the main monsters in this movie are all the ones i know)

i dont get why godzilla vs king kong exists, godzilla has a extreme advantage

Kong freaking grown a lot, he is a Kong head smaller than the big G. This is the promised rematch from 1963 So it is not fan service, not at all, Kong has a lot to give, he has a fair chance against Godzilla. KOTM was Fan Service, look at the easter eggs, references etc. Godzilla walking into the stadium referenced a scene where he did that too in the Heisei era. Im on Godzilla's side tho

I’m not hating, but when you compared it to civil war, I kinda groaned. Let the new cinematic universes be their own things, marvel has their own plans, monsterverse has theirs. Also, most of the avengers don’t have movies before the mcu, Godzilla does

Godzilla realized that Watanabe was sacrificing himself to set off a nuke, and at the last second hid Watanabe in his mouth to protect him from the blast. That's how he comes back for Godzilla versus Kong.

Did you even watch the movie? The military was not targeting Godzilla. They were targeting that flying chicken Rodan and Ghidorah. Godzilla was just collateral damage. Godzilla wasn't there when the missile was launched.

Well, heres the thing, Jurassic Park is the only monster movie where the other stuff holds more importance. No other movie can be Jurassic Park. Just accept it. The fights rocked.
