@@patrckhh20 I understand that but technically he still did a good deed because those other monsters were just as much of a threat to humanity as he originally was. Of course from Godzilla's point of view it was all about proving who the alpha or top monster was but from a human standpoint it was about eliminating a threat. Also if you noticed Godzilla could have easily burnt all of those people to a crisp but instead headed back home.

It actually makes sense and is somewhat accurate. While entering the water, the surface tension is breaking from the outside and him slowly entering helps dissipate the displacement. When he exits the water, the surface tension causes the water to stick to him, displacing more water rapidly creating a void, which in turn gets rapidly filled, leading to a wave and then causing a tsunami. Try it yourself - See how much water you splash around when you're slowly getting into a pool, versus the amount that sticks to you and splashes everywhere when you're trying to get out.

@@jacobwaters1147 At the Toho Studios KOTM screening during the Q/A session Micheal Dougherty did say that basically if the balance of nature, or the planet itself were to find itself to be in danger, that Godzilla would eliminate the threat. Be it monster or even humans. So this Godzilla seems to be a creature that is simply tolerant of mankind to a fair degree, but wouldn't hesitate to put us down if it's warranted.

It was honestly a really good rush feeling seeing that the human race was happy he was alive and okay as he left. Like you spend your whole life watching Godzilla be the bad guy because he was supposed to be humanity's punishment for forcing natural order, but in this universe, the people love him and seeing them be emotional because he got up and walked it off makes me emotional.

Godzilla is still a metaphor for the nuclear bomb. In the beginning Godzilla was a metaphor for the destruction and death caused by nukes. But in another light (especially modern day) he's a metaphor on how nukes can prevent greater destruction by implanting fear on people who wants to disrupt the balance. The nukes horribly scarred Japan but ended World War II; Godzilla causes just as much death and destruction but it's necessary for him to defeat monsters who actually want to hurt us. Same principle, different Side of the coin.

I LOVE this movie because it portrays Godzilla as the hero he's meant to be! Godzilla started as a monster that represented all of the horror the Japanese faced in the wake of the atomic bomb but they took him back and made him a protector of mankind and symbol of hope for the future. There's something so elegant and beautiful in that and I'm glad this movie took inspiration from those Toho movies that really emphasized this guardian element of the creature!

I may generally prefer KOTM over 2014, but _man,_ if every scene with Godzilla didn't give me chills in this one. Watching this movie way back when was like seeing Godzilla come to life; like I wasn't just looking at a movie monster anymore, and I was instead looking at the real creature in all of his glory. The movie itself as a whole may have waned on me overall as the years have passed, but I'll never forget the child-like giddiness I felt watching it the first few times.

Those last ten shots of the movie are absolutely incredible. The lighting, the camera angles, the people, Godzilla, hell Godzilla actually looked like a giant Titan because of his slow movement and the very specific camera angles, and the seagulls flying with him in the end just to show how absolutely massive he is really takes the cake.

I literally bawled my eyes out at this scene when Ford and Elle were reunited. Then when I heard the Bay Area people cheering for him as he left the city. He is definitely the "savior of the city".

The soundtrack of This movie is the best of Monsterverse movies 😔👌🎵🎶🐲 2:07 it's perfect

This ending... it did something to me man. I can't describe how beautifully perfect everything's portrayed here. Ken Watanabe's expressions, the japanese themed soundtrack, Godzilla awakening, ATJ and Elizabeth olsen's character and their kid running towards her, its such a wholesome moment. And ending it off with Godzilla be doubted as as a saviour? I love it. And of course its a "saviour?" rather than "saviour!", because he is a kaiju, and kaijus are always dangerous and a force of nature. But its moments like this where Godzilla is treated as the calm wind, instead of a hurricane. Metaphorically.

Thank you garath Edward for this incredible and classic film. Godzilla would never have been better where it is in the USA without him.

I remember in the theater back in 2014, i said to my mom "This is the Godzilla i've waited years for his return."

2:13 This shot is eerily great, just the way the water is undisturbed and how there is no music. Godzilla will return.

Pretty weird that they played lovers in Godzilla (2014) and then brother and sister in Avengers: AoU (2015).

I mean c'mon he's been considered that for long now, the english dub of the original 1954 movie even called him King of The Monsters through title

I was 9 when I saw this movie in the theaters. I was a huge Godzilla fan since I was 4 discovered him through KZread and dreamt of seeing him in the theaters one day. When the day finally came and saw this, I cried. I cried how good an American Hodzilla movie was and the fact that it was actually the Godzilla I remembered was so beautiful it made me cry. This is so nostalgic now. KoTM gave me even more and I cried again. Now Godzilla vs. Kong is the next step, being that the original King Kong vs. Godzilla was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw, I'll probably cry again, but I don't care because the test screening came out with positive reviews, meaning the movie must be good. This is truly, for me at least, the perfect time to be a Godzilla fan.

I can tell you I was born in 96 and became a Godzilla fan when I was 3 cause I loved Dinosaurs so much I was so amazed by Godzilla as a toddler ever since then he's been a part of my life 21 years so far. Definitely one of the greatest things I've ever gotten into in my life what I'm getting at is it don't matter how old or young you are man me being a younger adult I had to shed a tear cause they did such a fantastic job with this movie igot the feels for KOTM as well

King Kong vs Godzilla was my first Godzilla film as well so when the new movie comes out it's going to hit me hard regardless if it's one of the best movies ever or mediocre I'm still going to love it anyway.

@@Toompsuuun now Godzilla aim would be bad against Kong coz Kong is four legs walking monster he can typically run a 4km when Godzilla take 4 steps And he is more of human and also to be fair Kong is more precise his skills are op tho he is not have great skin as zilla he has very high level of skills He is kind of hunter as well He lived for his survival while Godzilla tried to prove who is the boss Kong will straight up evade all the zilla attacks mostly he has big huge arms not small ones like zilla Zilla can't catch Kong like he did for muto back in 2014 Kong has full control over his body a big arms big legs He will just simply grab the tallest building and hit right on zilla's head Zilla has slow movement speed all he can do his tail attack which also commonly known as Godzilla kick Zilla has tiny little arms compared to Kong Kong is in real danger if he gets closer to zilla Coz he cannot escape his atmoic breathe But in a decent distance Kong will easily dominate The writters already said that kong is the most skillful monster he is more intelligent than any other monster He will grab nearby objects to use as his weapon and for sure he will prove that he is the king of survival On the other hand even though zilla is very slow and cannot match up to Kong's speed He has tremendous durability he took nukes on him Kong punches would be like a kid who is bullying a grown adult 😂 Yet Kong has got preety much advantages than zilla Being fast and mobility is definitely matters in a fight Even if Godzilla dominates the fight And kong is severely injured and Kong's never giving attitude makes him grab a building and hit one final blow on zilla's head will still make zilla fatal is still considered as a win for Kong Kong will definitely win His specaility is all about being intelligent and super fast and using skills Not based on any powers

XchrissyX Perdue You are pretty much right, However, Kong has never met Godzilla meaning that He has never seen what Godzilla can do. Meaning that if Godzilla fires his Atomic Breath, Kong doesn’t know what to do with it. Kong can’t block, Nor even cause Damage to Godzilla with Punches. However Kong could use His new weapon against Godzilla like trying to dig it into His Skin, But It will be hard because He will be at Close Range. Many Kong Fans use the excuse that “The Humans are going to be on Kong’s Side because He is related to them” But it doesn’t make sense, Kong only saved a couple of People in a Crew and killed almost the entire Group, While Godzilla, Yes He did kill millions but He couldn’t *see* them. The Humans are going to be Own Godzilla’s Side because Godzilla has done more for Humanity then Kong.

godzilla 2014 was the only movie in the entire monsterverse franchise to actually depict godzilla as massive, the next two movies he's shown as tall as buildings, but this movie, for some unknown reason, manages to emphasize that

Godzilla he used to be the villain but now he’s a hero. He will always be my favorite Of all kaiju

Godzilla's triumph roar resonated with me deeply, he finally let Humanity know who the true king of the Earth was and we are it's protectorates.

@@ravanagnihotri how the hell does saving godzilla makes him the winner. There is a difference between saving lives and beating them. And godzilla has shown to be the superior alpha titan when he literally wound kong to the brink of death if the humans werent there. Its fine that kong didnt submit but now it shows godzilla is stronger then kong and is the only alpha titan of earth.

It's amazing how we went from this film, a mature take on monsters with brilliant cinematography and scale, to Godzilla vs Kong! Monsterverse is mad and I love it

I love the way everyone cheered as the king of the monsters rises up from his slumber after battle and descends to the deep waters.

One of the best movies that legendary pictures have ever made! 😀 and because Godzilla cannot die because he's a god of monsters
