    I took delivery of one of these today and I have to say I’m very impressed with it so far. If weight is a sign of quality materials in use then this is another quality product from Godox. You did a good job of demonstrating the special effects but I have to say they are better experienced first hand as they look even better in real life. Brilliant product 👍🏼

His comment saved me half my day. Thanks guys.

I just got these, my main two questions would be, if left on the charger, without them on, would it damage the battery. Question Two if I got these lights and one of the chargers is not working would godox be able to refund me if I didn’t get it directly through them.

    I like the simplicity of tube lights with built-in battery for photography and video. But as a hobbyist, I can't find a bag to include 1 -2 lights and a nano light stand to carry on board and walk around at the location. It is ok for production or anyone who can afford an assistant to hold the light :-)

    I dimmed it for proper exposure to look pretty and so y’all can see the LEDs since I’m reviewing an LED light. If I blew it up you wouldn’t see how the LEDs look like. If you don’t want the LEDs to show, increase the brightness til you’re satisfied.

  • @ArtVideoProductions

    @ArtVideoProductions

    3 жыл бұрын

    If you’re tying to just get the colors of these lights popping in your video, like shown in the beginning of this review, especially at night or in a controlled lighting environment, even the 1% setting is too strong. I needed to use ND at# 1 during the review to get the color fully saturated since at 1% is still bright for the camera sensor to catch it in the proper exposure otherwise everything would get washed out, just like any other light would. Now, these tubes are 18 watts, and to light ACTUAL people or things in large spaces you’ll need a few of these and they must be close to the subject. At 3 feet away, on aperture of f-4, on CCT at 100%, you’ll get about F-4.5. If shooting at f1.4, you’ll get about there times the brightness! Should be able to light everything in that setting. Whether you’re shooting a music video indoors or outdoors, they will do great.

  • @ArtVideoProductions

    @ArtVideoProductions

    The LEDs, even though you can see them, this tube diffuses the light decently, even on faces. But you can also add a diffuser and cut to shape. If you don’t want to spend $$$ on a Rosco diffuser, wal mart, at the fabric session, it actually sells stuff that can diffuse this light and cheap. Look / or ask for “tracing paper”or similar material. But if you don’t like it, as long as you buy from reputable sources such as BH or Amazon, simply return it. No fear there…

  • @ArtVideoProductions

    @ArtVideoProductions

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it will be enough to light someone for an interview, but using a tube shape for keylight, even though you can, that’s not the right tool for it. I don’t know what your budget is, but for keylight, you can choose from a Godox SL series to a Godox VL or FV series. Add a softbox and you’re set. But again, sure, you can use the TL-60 for keylight.

    These TL-60 lights are awesome, but they are limited in power output especially if you’re trying to light something at 15’ away. I use thexTL-60s for “practical lights” (the light being in the frame) or hair light or anything that’s close to the scene. The best choice for lighting a background and to have the absolute lighting control is a COB type LED, which accepts a huge variety of modifiers such as soft boxes. AND... don’t forget to buy a GRID for even more control. If you want an RGB light to light your background, I’ll provide you some links to everything. Please note that these links here are affiliated, I’m a participant in the Amazon affiliate program, which I earn a small commission and it doesn’t cost you anything extra, thus, it supports my channel and the work to put all that together for you. The TL-60, the only difference is that it’s App controlled, has gels and it’s a bit longer than the LC500R. The LC500R has barn doors. They both have LEDs that see through. Other than that, there’s not much difference.

    what are gels ?? in these lights

    Gelatin sheets (gels) are used to correct color, color the lights etc on tungsten and LED daylight lights. The gels in this light simulates as if there were gels.

    Of course. But I highly recommend that you fully charge the light to 100% before using while plugged into an outlet to give the battery some slack. *This applies to ALL lights that accepts use while charging* , not just this one. This way, you don’t add stress to the battery being depleted at the same time it’s trying to charge.

    People keep complaining that eventually the batteries die and they no longer can charge their lights. And they are saying this about all the Godox tube lights. And mostly after a year of use. Has this happened to you?
