Today we are looking at another light by Godox. We’ve been using Godox lights and other products for a while now, and have been impressed by their quality construction and light output. The S60 is daylight focusing LED light with an interesting specialty projecting attachment for creative lighting.

The nanlite projector
If buying the snoot for portrait stills which do you think is the best option. The S60, the adaptor and the ML60 or the adapter and a strobe? Assume I don’t own any as the adapter doesn’t fit on the AD600Pro

The adaptor doesn't work with everything (I don't remember if it works with our AD400 PROs for example), I think it is more for video lights. It a complex question to answer and it really depends on what you want to shoot, where, what other lights you are going to use etc.

Iddo Genuth you are correct. It, like all optical snoots I’ve researched, they are for continuous lights not strobes. One potential issue is the build up of heat. The AD600Pro and AD1200 do not fit but the AD200, AD300 and AD400. I’ve heard the S60 would be brighter than the ML60 due to the focusing mechanism but have not used either.
What did you use to measure the CRI and Lux output?

What is the proper way to gel this light? Every gel I've tried starts warping almost right-away.

What gel did you use and where did you place it? Remember this can get very hot very fast...

@@IddoGenuthToo many Godox Gels without a clear purpose listed. I have the V-11C and thought it was the SA-11C. I also got the VSA-11C which isn't right either. Heading back to Adorama to get the correct SA-11C and SA-11T today.
