I see a few editing elements that I've also seen from Definative HDR's YT channel - if you haven't seen any of his stuff, check it out. I think you should make a duplicate copy the fill flash layer as both a color mode layer and a darken mode layer - then group them - that should immediately correct any color issues you were having - especially if you run the luminosity ambient over the top at a 50% opacity. Also if you make a color copy of the ambient and put a black mask on it, sometimes you can use it to recover grey discolored areas that show on wood when it gets over exposed with the flash - just group the two ambient copies and save that color copy for touch ups if needed. The technique you showed in this tutorial seems like a bit of a hybrid compared to definative HDR's technique - which I really like and have recently starting trying to incorporate - just did a 2300 sq ft house in about an hour and 15 with one light....All that said, I really like the globe as front fill - it did a great job. I'd like to see what it does on a a side to side pop as well. I wonder if that can modifier can adapt to the AD600 pro? Good job - i enjoy your videos and pick out new things from time to time - I appreciate the way you refuse to get stuck in one style and continue to try new things.

Thank you. Yes I have learn3e a lot from definitive hdr but he is too confusing and wish I could do what he does but can't grasp everything he does. I did adapt my godox globe by superglueing the ring to the ad600. I show that in another tutorial. One of my more recent ones. Thanks for your suggestions!

Do you know how to set the flash power from the flash? Everytime I set the flash power from my Godox Ad200 flash and take a photo it changes power to whatever the receiver was set to? I'd like to be able to change flash power from my flash not from the receiver. Thank you!

That's weird. I'm able to set flash power from the flash. Make sure you're flash is not set to slave mode. Not sure why that would be happening.

I think so. The light spread is about the same and it's way more convenient. I would say that an umbrella is going to give softer shadows but it will still leave shadows so it's not really an advantage in any way.

@@joefoto good to know, thanks! I’m trying to get into real estate photography and only have a Godox v860 speed light. I’ve tried my shoot through umbrella for large rooms, but a modifier seems way more convenient. Any recommendations on modifiers that provide the same performance as this one?

I'm a bit confused. If you place the flash layer on top of the ambient layer, shouldn't the flash layer be set to 'Color' mode to eliminate the color cast and restore accurate colors? And why is the ambient layer set to the luminosity mode? Isn't that your base layer?

Never tried color mode before. And I've been known to always use luminosity for the ambient layer? Is that not always the case? Thanks.

@@joefoto If you're using the ambient layer as your base layer, it should be set to Normal mode. Setting it to Luminosity mode will result in the loss of all color information in your base layer, which is why your final image looks weird. Additionally, you should combine the flash layer first and set it to Color mode. This step helps eliminate any color cast and provides the correct color information to your base layer, the ambient layer.

Ok. Good to know. So when do you use luminosity mode? Would I need 2 ambient layers? I'm very intrigued now and am going to go practice this. Thanks for your input and not being critical. I don't claim to know everything and the more I do this business I find I know nothing. Lol. Do you put flash layer on top of ambient layer and change flash layer to color mode?

@@joefoto No worries. We're all here to learn, and thank you for sharing such valuable content. When employing the flambient method, many opt to use the flash layer as the base because it provides accurate color, reducing concerns about color cast. However, this approach can sometimes result in images that look overly flashed. To mitigate this, the ambient layer is placed on top of the flash layer to soften the 'flashy' appearance. Yet, the ambient layer often introduces its own color cast issues. To address this, it's set to Luminosity mode, allowing it to pass only lighting information to the flash layer, aiding in its correction. Conversely, if you choose to use the ambient layer as your base, the opposite approach is taken. Here, the flash layer is placed on top and set to Color mode, which helps correct the ambient layer's color. This technique, though less common, was used by Hunter Lomayesva in one of his editing video on youtube.

@@cooper1979 I just tested this out and I actually like the flash shot as the base layer! Seems like it gives better results. Thank you!! I'll be doing a tutorial on this soon!

@@joefoto Obiously I commented on one of your previous videos before. I regret having watched this second video and wasted my time. I do not know how to reject videos from bad creators. Sorry. I recommend doing some other busines. Or improve to your craft. The currect images (and the amout of editing time!) speak for itsself.

@@joefotoI am grateful for your videos man. They help a ton. I’m still confusedAF but I think it’s my lack of knowledge on how layers work. I get into post and lose track of layer order, when I gradient myself out I feel like I lose the light as well. It makes sense in every one of your videos. When I get into PS shit hits the fan. I’m struggling to visualize for post as well.🤦‍♂️
