Well constructed with no over-excited BS. Exactly what I like in a review.

I bought mine the beginning of spring this year and its made shooting during the harsh afternoon sun so much easier. I normally avoided shooting during the afternoon if I could. But if the client request an appointment during the harsh sunlight, I do not worry about it anymore. The ad1200 is not as hard to lug around as i thought it was going to be. It fits nice in my collapsible wagon and i leave in the wagon and just attach the head to the light stand if i can get away with it. I like that i can use it with action shots with a faster recycling time compared to my ad600’s. I own a whole bunch of godox strobes and every one of them have a certain purpose. I have 2 ad200’s, a ad300 pro, 2 ad600’s, and the ad1200 pro and depending on what is called for i always have plenty of light for the job. I haven’t had any issues with any of them except when they get blown over. That’s what insurance is for. But I can’t say enough good things about their strobe lights. If I get bigger jobs down the road, may be the ad2400 will be needed lol. But until then i am set

Looking at a couple of these units for my photography (everything from indoor to outdoor to wet plate collodion). I have several Godox flash units, all have been fantastic.

I have 3 of them and the Ring Flash head too. I also have 3 of the Elinchrom ELB 1200's with both HS and Action heads. I use the ELB when I want the most light and use HS. But for absolutely anything else I use the Godox. I prefer the Godox transmitters. A lot easier to use and my Elinchroms drop signal at least twice a shoot and are a pain to get to reaquire. Toss in using low power levels with dancers I can pull off 8 fps and the flash keeps up. I usually use a variable ND adapter and EF mount lenses on my R5 so I keep the Ad1200 out of HSS and it's pretty awesome for power like that even bettering the Elinchrom. Only thing I wish is it had the option of 2 heads. I do keep my Elinchrom for high profile clients.

im a elinchrom guy too, been using 1200's for years but considering this godox 1200. have you used the godox outside in the elements? wonder how it would do in the cold.. elinchroms are so good and waterproof I wonder if the godox would hold up or fry instantly...

Great walkthrough and thank you for sharing your discovery of nuances. At the end of your video, you mentioned that you would be making an action shoot with the AD1200. How did that go? I’m not sure I saw a follow-up.

My battery shows 6000 mAh capacity. Seems like there are already some different generations of the product. After 2 weeks of delivery the unit turned on without pressing the charging check button, but thank you so much for the tip anyway!

would love to see more bts videos with the AD1200. Do you ever use the ringlight head with the AD1200?

I do need to use it a bit more than I actually do so hopefully you will see more soon. No actually I don't own the ring light head. I used to have a ring light many years ago for a Bowens Traveller 1500 but I never actually liked it that much.

How I just wished everyone would use USB-C instead of all those proprietary charge cables. This also enables us to find a charger in case you forget or just bring one charger for laptop, cam, flash, etc. BTW - a small request. The background music is super annoying. Great video though!
