    I love Godin guitars, they have something different and authentic. I love them, in some way Godin guitars have helped me focus more in my music instead of iconic images. They make my creative process more transparent and easier.

    That is one great looking and sounding "Telecaster looking" guitar! (LOVE that TELE look!!). Love the idea that the control buttons don't get in the way of strumming. Very nice...and I'm proud to say that it's made in Quebec! Congratulations to Mr. Godin and his team. ;-) :-)

    I'm a guitar collecter and I love my A6 Ultra, I play in a a Church Worship Team and my mates just love the tones I can get through a Fishman Loudbox. This guy is using a Fender Princeton Reverb, I have one of these also but have never teamed it up with the A6 Ultra. With The Fishman even the Humbucker shines. They're beginning to get rather expensive though, people are starting to really notice them. A hidden gem for too long. The only issue issue with them is the preamp, a bit fiddly at times when you want to alter your tone midway through a piece but practice with it does help matters.

    I'm a full time acoustic soloist. Everything from Arlo Guthrie to 311. I have an A6 Denim Blue Flame and I do use a TC Electronic BodyRez pedal (which, or an equivalent, is a MUST for any transducer guitar) to give body to the transducer. It's hard to get a "working man's" tone from this instrument. If I were a jazz man or a big band guy, it would be simpler. Warm and clean or warmer and soft. But I need to go from strum to lead instantly. I have a Taylor T5 Custom, a Guild S7CE Peregrine, and have used a Crafter SA in the past as well. They are all more gig friendly right out of the box. All three of them are very forgiving. Not the A6 (The crafter SA was the best of the bunch as far as flexibility but I sold it). I need flexibility. IT's not practical to make these kind of adjustments on the fly ON the instrument. Here's my setting that works for me: First off, the OEM humbucker is WAAAAY too big and boomy for this guitar. It's the biggest design flaw in my opinion. A 20k or less HB would have been AWESOME. I buried it down in the body as deeply as I could, with the high side slightly higher. My "on guitar" settings: Humbucker: Bass all the way down, treble all the way up. Volume at about 65% Piezo: Bass at 37%, treble at 40%, mids at about 60%, and volume at max. On my mixer I have the bass at 11 and the treble at about 12:30. I turn the TC BodyRez pedal off when soloing. It reduces compression and brings back some of the mids and gives a different voice which you want. This guitar can be terrible or awesome, but the settings are crucial, and the good sounds are counter intuitive on the controls to what one would think reasonable. Those crazy Canadians. :/

    With enough technology on the other end of the guitar cord you can make almost any playable, tunable guitar sound good. In the other videos I watched, single notes and the elec pu sounded ok. As is the case with all these double duty guitars however, the guitar came off thin and tinny when strummed as an acoustic. (Like I say, not in this video though. I would have to know all the tech you are running it through before making a decision) If played alone, it sounds good, 'til you play it side by side with an acoustic guitar. That's the video i'll wait for before I decide to jump in.

    I use this one as my go-to live acoustic and it never let me down. The acoustic can get pretty fat like a dreadnaught. The magnetic pup in the neck is naturally fat and adds more drive to the mix when needed. Hard to beat this instrument for the quality as well as its value.

    I don't know about everyone else's opinion, but this guitar sounds like a banjo. I don't know if it was the recording method used is the culprit or it was the eq-ing that is the culprit. Notice how @3:17 marker, the views spike? It's the sounds. I don't know how Godin would "shoot itself in the foot" with such a bad sound for the acoustic sound as being sellable in their hybrid guitar.

    Thanks for doing this video...love this guitar and play it daily! My top slider (acoustic volume) also acts as a master when I'm using the blended output (i.e. I can only blend in some magnetic, not use just magnetic when using that output...if acoustic slider is down and magnetic slider is up, no volume...and to confirm, I AM using the blended outout). Do you know if this is a previous way that this guitar was configured, or is it a wiring error? When I use both outputs and two amps, the guitar behaves as in the video. Thanks for your time!

    Its a bit tricky for sure, Keep trying to gently pry it out pushing it to the side of the foam , once out I had problems getting off the the NEGATIVE battery connetion as well, again gently pry off the connector using a small flat head where the metal on the connector attaches to the battery, NOT the PLASTIC of the connector, the negative terminal broke from top of battery but at least it allowed me to put on a new battery, so slightly bend the negative connector from guitar to enlarge, I used needle nose pliers , so its easier to remove next time, hope that helps if your still having issues.

  • @TheOneZenMusic

    @TheOneZenMusic

    5 жыл бұрын

    You can, but it's somewhat limited in that form. 1. It's susceptible to feedback because of its chambered body. 2. Depending on the strings you use, you may not be able to bend above a whole step, and even then not as easily as you may want for your face-melting shred. I use the strings it's originally set up with (Godin E-12s--.012, .016, .024, .032, .042, .052). With those, the guitar feels about halfway between an acoustic and a solid-body electric (maybe even a bit on the acoustic side). I'm sure you could throw on a lighter gauge and it would handle well, but I haven't tried it. To me this guitar feels like an acoustic that can easily be played anywhere on the fretboard. Doesn't mean you can't solo, doesn't mean you can't djent, but just something to keep in mind. Finally 3. The humbucker/chambered body combo will give you a very warm sound, which may not be what you want for high-gain use. Now, all that being said, you can absolutely rock with it. Why not? People do it all the time with hollow-body guitars, so why not this one? It just may not be the sound you want. Personally, I solo with it all the time. When I'm playing lead with another acoustic performer, I think it sounds great. A lot of times I'll switch to the humbucker for soloing over a looped acoustic track. Throw a gain pedal in the mix and you've got a one-man show. But would I use it for lead playing in a rock band or record heavy solos with it? Probably not.

Je précise bien que je ne suis pas un pro et que je ne passe pas toutes mes journées à jouer. Pour dire, la guitare a toujours toutes les cordes d’origine.
