First episode is one for the books. Just enough action and drama. Not over the top at all. This series is definitely worth a watch.

It is a great series...because it touches on REAL history-making times during the worst times for a BLACK FEMALE AND MALE in America (Civil Rights era) and the World. Some ot the instances are highlighted slightly differently...because so far it has been on point. Even people who grew up with these people say it is very close to facts. The music is tough and real too! Mr. Whitaker and the cast are superb...Vincent D'Onofrio- playing the last 'The Chin - Gigante'...rocks his character as well. So many great actors portraying historical figures (Adam Clayton Powell (Giancarlo Esposito)) (Malcolm X (Nigel Thatch)), Mrs. Johnson (Ilfenesh Hadera), Bumpy's adult daughter( Antonette Crowe-Legacy) and younger daughter, Bumpy's main hitman (Del Chance played by Erick LaRay Harvey). Also, Paul Sorvino (Costello) and Chazz Palimentieri (Joseph Bonnano) playing major respectively historical mobsters. So many very talented actors. I have seen many from series like Boardwalk, The Sopranos also returning to cable series. Just loads of fun and entertainment with very fine actors and actresses.
