1. According to Gen. 37: 2, Joseph was 17 years old when he was sold. 2. According to Gen. 41: 46, Joseph was 30 years old when he was appointed to be the 2nd ruler. 3. According to Gen. 45: 6, the famine was to continue for 5 more years when Joseph met his brothers. So, he was not meeting his brothers at 40, nor was the allegation of rape was at his late 30, nor did he become the ruler at 40.

Joseph's journey from being sold to ending up in Potiphar's house did not take 20 years. He was 17 when sold by his brothers, and 30 when he became the Prime Minister of Egypt. (Gen 37:2 and 41:46) So his 'trial period' was around 13 years.

When I turn on captions, I can see there's a couple of phrases missing from the sermon, or the translation is adding some parts. Should check that out.
