4:32 When Odin says Thor's sons were useless, I love Thor's body language. He turns his head away and takes in a quick breath. He loved his sons in a very flawed way, but he's too afraid to speak out of line with Odin, so he just sucks it up through Odin insulting them.

A small observation but it seems like Odin sent in Thor to speak to Kratos first to ask him if he is a calm person because you see the one of his Crowd enters as Thor enters so he can still see conversation. As soon as he says yes then Odin knocks on the door. This seems to show how Odin was scared of Kratos from the beginning and didn’t want to face him if he was truly the God killer so he sent Thor first to size him up before possibly risking his own life

2:11 Maybe it's just coincidence, but I like that each weapon is according to the personality of its wielder. - Thor is like a hammer: blunt, destructive and crude, it's not practical, it's just brute force to demolish everything in its path, like Thor's massive destruction. - The axe goes more with Kratos: more practical and more bloodthirsty. It doesn't have the massive destruction of the hammer, but is more suited to slaughter and carnage, perfect for an executioner or godslayer, like Kratos.

now i understand why Baldur thought Kratos would be bigger in the last game and thats because of the size of Thor. Hearing about someone who kills gods in your land yeah you’d totally expect them to be bigger then anyone you know

I was playing earlier and during a sidequest Kratos had tried comforting mimir over his past mistake, even calling him brother. Very heartwarming to witness, not sure if there were any interactions like that in 2018 but it put a smile on my face

For a demigod that has lost most of his divinity Kratos is still bodying gods in an underpowered state, and he is winning defeating Norse Gods in their own realms of power and homeland. In Greek mythology there was once a Greek god personification of Strength called Cratos, and Kratos is this version of that factual Greek god. Kratos is still living up to that namesake as the God of Strength even though he killed and mantled Ares the God of War, Kratos still has innate godly levels of strength, Olympian divinity or not. He is fighting at a disadvantage against Thor and managing to hold his own. Thor still has his Divinity and he’s having a rough go at beating down Kratos. As when Kratos killed Zeus, the Divinity of Olympus died in Greece and with that most of, *IF* not all his power and the power of the Greek Gods, although what fate awaits Aphrodite as the “Last Olympian” possibly still living in Greece is unknown. As Olympus has fallen its unlikely that a new Greek Pantheon will rise.
