Why would Heimdall "dare take things far" when Thor was literally acting on Odin's orders to prevent harm to Atreus? Heimdall is Odin's lapdog, he isn't going to extensively go against his orders anyway. Dude walked away more out of disgust at Thor & obligation to Odin more-so than anything else. Keep in mind the actual moment Thor showed up Heimdall looked at him & laughed, I doubt he felt any real fear as opposed to just disgust at his thoughts. Plus, like I said; Kratos is already above Thor and we see he needed a unique, one of a kind weapon (that only HE has, mind you) to even touch him; all of this while Heimdall is goofing around & low-diffing him for a good portion of the fight 💀. Cuz he'd fuck anyone up in a 1v1 and everyone knows it. Mimir himself said Heimdall hasn't even been touched for the entirety of his existence lol, Kratos only got him bc of the spear (and bc he's the god-killer)

Odin knew Loki would free Garm, it was just a small one of multiple ways to threaten the other realms. He was hoping it would throw off Kratos and convince Loki to stay out of fear of his father. What Odin gravely underestimated was the relationship between Kratos and Atreus. He suspected their world to be similar to his and Thor, and that Kratos was as just a bad father as he is.

Knowing Odin, he definitely killed his own dad - but the killing was likely driven by ambition and hunger for power. Kratos killed Zeus out of vengeance - once Zeus was dead, Kratos experienced the pain he'd buried underneath his fury for so long. It was the desire to be free of this pain that he traveled to Midgard, that he started a family, had a son. For Kratos, Atreus was his salvation. For Odin, both Thor and Baldur were pawns.

Atreus figured out that it was helheim. Odin had nothing to do with them being in helheim. Odin had nothing to do with how the mask would direct them. If he does, it then he would not need the mask in the first place. Even though odin did a lot of bad things, freeing garm was entirely atreus’ fault.

@@marksantiago9841 I was quite surprised the mask turned out to be exactly what Odin said it was, because after this mess with Garm I immediately thought, like the OP did, that Odin wanted Atreus to free Garm and feel guilty and be more pliable afterwards. The discovery that Garm's realm-weakening even applied to the Sindri's house on the World Tree seemed to confirm this, as it seemed like Garm would be a perfect weapon to strike somewhere beyond Odin's reach, so I assumed the mask Odin needed Atreus' "help to translate" was simply an artifact that would lead straight to Garm. Discovering that you were right, and it genuinely was a coincidence that the mask led to Garm, was a surprise for me, as it seemed much more in Odin's character for it to be a trick.

@@mzytryck the only thing that can make this odin’s fault is by not warning atreus about garm. Perhaps you are right in the sense that odin was kinda hoping that atreus would free garm to somehow distract his enemies for quite a bit. But that is just about it. That is the only state where this is somehow odin’s fault. He did not manipulate anyone (perhaps maybe thrud) at this point. He is not even sure if atreus would actually free garm. Him not warning them about garm was probably his only fault in this matter and he is somewhat sure that atreus would be sympathetic about animals. But atreus is definitely not free of blame here. He has gotten quite arrogant.

I just love how the game tries to make Odin look like a good guy. If it wasn’t for Mimir, we would’ve actually fell for it.

If we had zero context to go on, Odin would appear fairly positive at first. But skilled narcissists are like that. With the context (Freya, Mimir, etc.), this wasn't the game trying to make us think Odin is good, it's us seeing first-hand Odin's gaslightning in action.

Since Heimdall can read minds, he is probably aware that he is nothing but a tool to Odin. Probably hurt him and twisted him. Heimdall is a cruel little bastage, pessimistic to a ridiculous level, arrogant and degrading. He's also honest, straight forward, loyal to Odin, proud of Asgard, cares about his people, takes pride in the culture and his role as protector. He has redeemable qualities but his narcissistic and sadistic personality make them hard to see. I think we all feel something for Heimdall because we see his potential. Tragically, it was stunted by Odin being a horrible father and the burden of always seeing in people's minds.

Watching Heimdall fight you realise he's actually a genuinely awful fighter, so reliant on his power that he's never bothered to learn. No wonder as soon as he ran into an actual warrior he up and died.

Some of them even gave him a run for his money, and I'm talking about normal enemies too, not just bosses. 90% of his enemies put up a good fight, so that can't be an excuse.

What I love about Heimdall is he is always Honest. Brutally Honest, since his entire power is to see people's intention........ But Odin is a manipulative Liar thats so good at Lying. I like Heimdall. No really. Atreus just screwed up BIG TIME with freeing Garm and tbh, how he treats Atreus is to some extend justified in this scene. I'd call someone who freed a being that can destroy things in a dimensional level a moron as well. And well, I just like arrogant pieces of shit that are VERY powerful, but get absolutely destroyed by some other even more powerful beings like Kratos or Thor Plus, yeah I think 3:00 is just badass how he uses his sword to punch Atreus in the stomach Plus his voice actor is one of the best

It's pretty obvious to anyone that Heimdall has tussled with Thor at some point to some degree. Be that a training match or an actual battle. That's why he does not fear Thor by any means.

There is but a single question I have... why WAS the mask GLOWING? Was there actually a mask piece behind Garm? Like what just happened there? At first I thought it was inside the Doggy but that never happened either.

@@sir_vaughn2018 Nah, Heimdall ain't a sheep, no matter who is in front of him. He didn't allow Kratos to spare him out of pity because of his pride even if Kratos had the advantage because of Heimdall's arm that was blocked by the spear. Also, he got nerfed in his Fight against Kratos, he was supposed to prevent every Krato's attacks but he would be too powerful so they nerfed him.

Because thats Garm? Heimdall himself said: "You know that thing tears holes between realms" So that means that this wolf can destroy Hel in itself. It is an apocalyptic being.

Sad that Vê and Vili the brothers of Odin + Forseti,Nanna,Sigyn,Iduna,Bragi,Hoder,Uller,Hermod,Vali,Meili and Vidar Along with Fulla,Var,Ran,Hela,Lorride,Simara,Bil,Saga,Hlin and Gefjunn They didn't appear in this game mainly in asgard and Along with others Midgardian humans l would love to see their relationship with Atreus especially after the death of Baldur,Magni and Modi Too bad it didn't happen and didn't have This game should be a part 1 and part 2 so having a trilogy or more games in Norse Mythology but no.. they wanted to make only 2 games in this mythology it's really a pity There were so many things missing creatures others Gods/Demi Gods Like Siegfried/Sigurd and Beowulf Midgard Warriors as they are versions of Samson and Hercules in Norse Mythology including more Valkyries since there are many of them in total there are 28 Valkyries and only 13 were used And the return of Baldur,Magni and Modi + Freya's priestesses are: Vjofn,Sjofn,Lofn, Syn and Snotra Really they destroyed the franchise and it would be cool if we had the Nordic trilogy But no.. they just do it in two games and that's Disappointment 🥺😔 like and Bye!
