I just got my Bible today in the mail. You did an honest review. I expected the quality to be better for the price I paid. Some pages did stick, nothing ripped. It's hard to read words on a page because you can also see words on the other side of the same page. DT endorsing this Bible did get me to purchase my first Bible. So, in that sense it was a good thing and worth it. I want to be close to God and learn more about my religion. They shipped Bible without messaging me about it. I had no clue it was arriving. Luckily, I was home when mailman arrived. There shouldn't be translucent pages and sticky pages for the high price. Also, Lee Greenwood hand written lyrics are a copy. I actually made the mistake of thinking it would be handwritten for each Bible since there was a limited amount of Bibles according to them. I give this Bible a 6/10. But 10/10 for Bible contents. For those wondering if they should buy this Bible, save your money and get regular king James version for a lot less. You can get declaration of Independence, constitution, etc separately.

Not a sewn binding. This is called notch back. Where it looks like there might be threads it is just notches with thick glue. Notice also there it no rounding to the spine.

I had training from a french bookbinder. I was not able to make it a living as my teacher returned to France and passed from this life after two years of my training. I was in commercial printing for many years and learned of current mass production technique of notch binding that looks like sewn.

So, a "patriotic" Bible endorsed by Trump on TV and sold for a high price turns out to be cheap, shoddy, and overpriced. Who'd a-thunk it? :)

There is no such thing as a "American Bible" anymore than there is a Japanese Bible. Only the language can change, not the teachings. There was also no English written in the original manuscripts. The First Amendment says that congress cannot indorse or establish any religion. We U.S. citizens have to right to practice any religion we wish to or none.

I agree, when I first saw the advertisement I was appalled that all of the USA documents were included. The Bible is for everyone in the world and should not be political. People who have read the Bible know this. Thanks for posting this video to clarify this truth.

How is the entire Bible printed (in large print) in a book that’s two inches thick? I have only the first 5 books with some commentary, and it’s five inches thick.

I’m Protestant, I like the new versions, modern English translations. Not surprised Team Trump couldn’t get fast, easy permission to use those. King James version is alright, but Trump settling for King James translation makes me smile-Trump doesn’t care, has never read a word of it in any form. Atheist here also, and non-American. So this is offensive to me on several levels. But as I said in another comment, if I were an American and a believer, I'd be pissed that something I consider sacred was being used as a crass publicity stunt and cash grab. There's only a very small portion of the population that doesn't have significant reason to be offended by this. Sadly, they seem to be the ones most likely to forgive Trump absolutely anything.

I've worked in the book publishing industry for over 34 years. I know a thing or two about how books get published-including Bibles. Based on the overall appearance of the Trump Bible, I will guarantee that it's cheaply published in China. That's why there's no copyright page, which is actually slightly illegal. They did register the ISBN number with the government, the Library of Congress. The version of the text that was used, the King James version, is considered public domain and therefore free use to anyone who wants to publish a Bible cheaply. More recently versions including the NIV and RSV are still copyrighted. The gilded edges are causing the Bible pages to stick together. It's a thin coating that's applied after the book is printed and bound. The other supplemental elements, i.e. Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc. are also public domain and free use. So the only cost to the publisher is the printing, which is likely less than $1 in US currency. Selling them for $60 is an enormous profit, especially when you consider that all of this information could be easily found online for free. There's also the issue of them only available in large print, which means there's a clearly defined target audience, gullible seniors. For someone like Trump who claims that the Bible is his favourite book, which he reads daily, it surprises me to learn that when he recently attended a fundraising event sponsored by a Christian organization, he was asked to lead the audience in reciting the Lord's Prayer. But he didn't know the words. Even an atheist would likely know the words to this common prayer.

Many atheists I know have read the Bible cover-to-cover and some also read the Torah and the Koran. It's because they are curious people and they want to know what others believe and why. Many say that reading the Bible either put the first doubts in their mind or confirmed their lack of belief. One of my good friends was an older atheist (now deceased) who was often asked to be on a local talk-radio show to talk about atheism. The host always suggested that callers not try to argue the Bible with Joe because he knew it better than most of them. But they would call and read Bible verses to him and Joe would quote from memory passages of scripture that totally contradicted those verses. Those words were graven in my mind in childhood, like hundreds of other bible passages and like much of the Episcopal liturgy. Most atheists don't pop out of the womb as atheists.

I have never watched a Bible review video before. I had not stopped to ponder if such a thing even existed. And, honestly, had I previously known of such enterprises, I would have still never watched a Bible review video. However, this was delightful. I’ll sub and like. First, your review was so fair and balanced, insightful, professional. Like a good piece of nonfiction-in which powerful disparate images are portrayed side-by-side, simply juxtaposed with one another without requiring elaboration, the components of the Bible inform on the others: here we have Revelations and the return of Christ…and…here are lyrics to God Bless the USA. Enough said, haha. My favorite moments of inadvertent humor were that at 7:37 and at 8:05 “powers of impeachment. Ope! That is stuck together…” I snorted aloud and startled my pup. I appreciate your honest assessment not only of the quality, but also of its inclusion of national documents. Let’s put church and state in one convenient location! Not. Last, I would be absolutely shocked were a Bible endorsed by trump NOT made in China. 🙏🏽✌🏽💙 from Minnesota

A lot of book printing factories are (after all the rigmarole of contractor companies) in China, and they often just use whatever materials are cheap,.as opposed to what the customer ordered. Sad, because a lot of quality art books used to be printed in Hong Kong.

The high price for a cheap Bible likely printed outside of America is reason enough not to purchase it, but no maps? No concordance? No introductions to the books or cross references? Hmm... I think what is included: song lyrics, the Constitution, Bill of rights and Pledge of Allegiance speaks volumes to the agenda of making readers think America is a central theme in the Bible. I disagree wholeheartedly. If you’ve ever read the Old Testament it’s packed full of what you’re saying in your comment. Israel loved and protected their land increasingly. Someone should get a troop of bulldozers and write this in mile-size letters across the desert between the U.S. and Mexico (or whatever size is visible on Google Earth) . Of course, it would eclipse the great Chilean poet Raúl Zurita's 3-kilometer poem, which was dug into the Atacoma Desert in the wake of the Pinochet regime, as the largest poem in the world, but considering the circumstances, I don't think he would mind. The true struggles of the human spirit are not just about competition to be the "biggest" or "best" anyways.

Evidently, it does not include the whole US Constitution. It stops at the 10th amendment, it does not include the thirteenth that abolished slavery, and none of the 17 amendments after the Bill of Rights.

​@@princybella5386except that wasn't the original Constitution. The Bill of rights was the first ten amendments. They were added quickly but they are definitely not original. I understand that the Constitution is often printed with just the Bill of Rights but in a printing that contains many other documents and the lyrics of a song, it does seem like an odd choice.

(Actually 5 notebooks) Tollegde PPress has done a great job on two different versions of the Geneva Bible Featuring for Protestants the Martin Luther cover and George Washington Praying by his horse in the snow ... but i got the one with Valley Forge Crossing ... included in those are significant writs of History ... but I'm with you on the "let down" ... and the price is climing faster than Biden's inflation too!

That commercial struck me right off as just another stunt by Trump. "Look at me. I'm so Christian I am selling a Bible. See, I am holding it in my hands (and it's not burning me)." He has no clue about Scripture. I saw his interview when asked about his faith and the Bible. He completely sidestepped every question.

Did I see this correctly? For a publication that blatantly violates the separation of church and state (i.e. patriotic documents have absolutely no business in a Bible), it doesn't contain Amendments 11 through 27 of the Constitution?!

The words “separation of Church and State” are not found in the Constitution itself, but the concept is found in the first amendment and the idea permeated both the reasons for the founding of the United States and the ideals of our founding fathers. The words “separation of Church and State” were written by Thomas Jefferson, but not found in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence. However, our Founding Fathers would not have questioned this. Freedom of religion was the man reason they fled British tyranny, a nation led by the unelected leader of the Church of England.

It would only violate the 1st Amendment (the basis for the seperation fo church and state), the government would have to be studying it. The publisher, Trump and Greenwood are all private citizens and can publish anything they want. A lot of people use the 1st 10 amendments because they were originally part of the constitution in order to get it ratified. Making a deal out of not having the rest is getting a little unreasonable.
