Go Airborne in the National Guard

Training controls the chaos during airborne operations. But no amount of training lessens the exhilaration of jumping out of a plane-and that's a good thing. Watch this 360 video, then find your adrenaline rush: bit.ly/3bOADeI

I'm a 92R in the US Army Reserves. I can speak on behalf of this. Your parachutes WILL open. If they don't, that's why you got a reserve. You're safe with our parachutes. The physical jump itself, they didnt mention this in the video. But it's the biggest relief and excitement all in one, kinda like controlled chaos but it's more like a sense of "I'm scared but i want this adrenaline rush". But as i said, if you go airborne, you're safer than you think. Feet and knees together!

@@danerietel6338 I since some jealousy, since you can actually do all the same schools in the Guard but get more time and money to focus on your education. I can't speak for every State, because being from Texas we do have the biggest Army National Guard, but getting schools is pretty easy as long as you're a good Soldier. There is nothing wrong with going active duty, but it's not always the best option for everyone. Especially if you want to serve, but have other ambitions in life. It is not the branch that makes the Airman, Soldier, Marine, or Sailor, but the individual. There are plenty of dirt bags in Active Duty, Reserves, and the Guard alike.

If you don't have any regular airborne units, you can go 18x, if they have them around your area. Ive also heard of people just showing up too schools with all there gear getting in. For any school, Invariably some people are not going to show up, and there will be slots open. The Cadre will ask who you are, and your unit, call your state, and be like "hey, your man showed up here. Do you want him to process?" And in a lot of instances, they will respect your gusto and push you through. This obviously means paying your way over there, and its sort of a risk, cause they could say no. But you gotta take charge of your career if your really want it. Your last option is to make the right friends and know the right people, or get it in your contract before you push your papers through meps. Be willing to walk away from the recruiter if he doesn't provide, and find another one.
