23:25 the reason Fried Liver attack is called this way comes from the dish Fegatello which is liver fried with onion. When you cut liver in thin slices and start cooking it, pieces get heated and kinda "jump" on your pan. The analogy is that black Kings gets attacked and he jumps all over the chess board just like liver jumps on the pan while being fried.

This right here is why I started watching Hikaru. This type of content. Watching him casually decimate players I usually struggle or lose against. The speedruns - especially this one and the original bongcloud speedrun from early 2020 - are his best content to date imo. And the views really show that a LOT of people agree. Even with all the new content since he’s blown up - the pogchamps, famous guests, 4 player chess, etc - it’s this stuff that still has the most views. It’s really this type of content that made him unique and intriguing, and eventually famous IMO. He’s arguably the greatest online speed chess player ever. He’s been doing this since the 90s when it first started, and he’s been the dominant force ever since. To be able to watch him stream his play, while explaining the moves, is such a privilege.

Been waiting for a video like this. Amazing
Hikaru, distracted: "Oh I gotta move, sorry. Oh it's just checkmate!" His opponent: "After thinking for over a minute, my brave opponent found a brilliant mate in 1"
thanks for helping me out to improve my chess.. because I always scared to make a different move..and always play in the same line everytime I played.. :)
Hi Hikaru, I am your biggest fan! I was about to quit chess but you are the one who inspired me to keep playing. I was really bad at chess when I started, but eventually, I won the annual high school chess championship. You are my favorite chess player of all time because I love the way how you perceive the game and you are absolutely hilarious. Don't ever quit playing and I wish I could see you outside one day. I am your biggest fan from Myanmar!

I'm nowhere near to being being near the neighborhood of near Nakamaru, but this video showed me an extremely effective tactic to use during blitz. Be ******* aggressive. Take risks and push your positions forward. More often than not at intermediate elos your opponent will make a mistake and leave you an opening.
