This is great. I really appreciate videos that do not rely on airbrush.
Honestly, these videos are so relaxing 😂 even when I'm not trying to actively learn something I can listen to these and be entertained, informed, and relaxed at the same time.
*I prefer a bit longer ones with a nice tip* squid 2019

WOW, have watched other Glowing effects videos and honestly this is the most concise and easy to follow I've seen...going to be trying you're way next time. Thank you!
For anyone who has them, the lighter contrast paints from GW can be used in pretty much the exact same way. You just need to thin them down a bit. I do about 2 parts medium to 1 part paint. Aethermatic Blue and Warp Lightning are especially good at this. For oranges and reds like Emil has here, I actually haven't tested doing it with the orange so I can't comment but you might need to thin it down an extra bit as those colors are a bit stronger. It's not quite as pretty an effect as you've got here because of how that particular Vallejo paint works, but still, for anyone who already had the tools why not?
That was SO simple and SO effective. Thank you.
Short isn't bad, especially when the tips really are that simple!
Brilliant method. For my amateur hands - simply amazing. Thanks!!!!
Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much Emil.
Great advice ! I’ve been struggling with glowing eyes for a while now.. Thanks a lot 🤙🏽
I never realy thought of that before! it seems like a more controlled way than the airbrush. love your channel! it has been such an inspiration to mine!
A criminally underrated video. Thank you for making this cool effect super easy to achieve/understand. Going to try it on my plasma throwers to look cool while smiting the worshippers of the corpse emperor.
You are amazing! Just watch few of your videos and love all of them!
And all this time I was thinking the process was going to be very complicated. I am going to start practicing this process, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
That's totally awesome, thanks for the tips! Totally applying this. :)
I love your channel! Awesome stuff!
Ud, es un genio!. Saludos desde Argentina y muchas gracias por sus consejos y tutoriales.
wow great technique, going to use this one for sure
Great video once again, I always look forward to your videos
Very nice! I've been washing my Bloodletters eyes with Nuln Oil and using this method to give them green glowing eyes, almost like a character from some Image Comics series.

Yayy another video :D Currently have a bit of a shitty time, so this video is definitely welcome. Your eyes always help haha.
Awesome as usual , thanks so much
So easy and good looking.
Thanks for sharing - about to try this out ❤👍
Short one, but definitely the best explanation I've seen so far.
Really awesome tutorial. Quick, easy and i had no idea this existed!!!
Omg that is so easy... I got in my own head about glowing eyes thank you for the video
Great video! I'll definetly try this😎
Great! As soon as I see one of your videos come up I have to watch it. I just put my life on pause for a bit :) thank you for your videos!!
Excellent tutorial!
Amazing! About a week ago I attempted my first glow effects without any instruction, wasn’t to shabby. Now I’m attempting again on some runic glow on some armor and axes. Armed with your tips Im sure of a brighter outcome. Would be amazing if I could get some advice. The video to it is on my youtube.
Awesome tutorial!
Genialt tak! 😁👍
This is actually really helpful, I've been pondering painting/building some idoneth with a deep sea bioluminescent theme and this will really help with that effect.
Very nice and easy technique.
I just picked up a bunch of florescent paint thanks to this video. Thanks so much man!
Love your videos!
Man you made that look sooooo easy! I’ve been trying to achieve just a basic glow effect I’ve been trying to do green glow on power swords and on honour guard sheilds and it just looks like 2 tone green lol
Love how super tight and concise this video is. Can’t wait to try it! Squidmar always makes it look easy, but I know it won’t be.
It's glowing!
great job! Thanks Emil.
Amazing channel, cheers dude.
hmm, would you say that this method is better for painting an osl and glow effect rather than glazes of regular paints due to its uv properties?
Dont understand how you dont get more subs ?all the quality content you could ever need.
great video as always buddy!
Love your vids this was really helpfull
You are a painting god
Awesome video 🤘🏻 🤯
Damn, I have tried doing glowing effects over and over again. Maybe should give it another try now ;D
Super bra video Emil!
I was just looking for a quick way to do glowing eyes at a tabletop quality for one of my D&D players! Now...if we could just get that Golden NMM video I saw in the list of potential videos, you would be my absolute hero :) Thanks for your great content!
Thank you, helped me very much 😊
Excellent tutorial. I'd love to see the airbrush technique!!
Great tutorial! :)
Thanks. The tutorial i needed
takk!! gracias!!
Thanks!!!!
First! Great stuff. Keep it UUUUUP
Thank you
I have not painted a mini in about 20 years. Not sure how I ended up of your channel but I am really enjoying your videos. Makes me want to give it another go and try and use some of the techniques you have shown.

The tumbmail is youst the best😂
I discover your channel recently, instant subscribed! You make everything so easy. About the 8404 which size are you using?
Great tip... I hate eyes and now i have a quick and easy answer... thankyou
Hey man, love your videos! I'm trying to get a red glow colour on my necron Gauss weapon, how would I do this? Thank you 😊
Hi Emil, do you have any tips on painting eyes that are sort of buried within the skull or armor like in gaunts minis when you cannot really make a nice and clear horizontal stroke over the eye. I am currently struggling with Suzerain Invictarus eyes which I am trying to make using your technique.
i approve of the amount of explosions haha
Awesome short tip video! One question though my dearest Emil. I have sometime, I think, used inks as a way of sort of achieving glow on eyes. Is this something you tried and can recommend or not? 🤓 And as always. Ha det gott eller! 🤘
I like that you get to the point quickly. Many videos are too long for the subject.
dear youtuber or Emil, i have resons i wanted to try this effect but on a larger scale. I want to paint the glowy parts on the necrons with this. Should i follow the same scheme you think or is it enough to paint white and them fluorescent maybe?
you make it look so easy hahaha
Nice
So do I need this special fluorescent paint or any bright colour will do?
What do you recommend for a purple glowing skull?
Would replacing Fluorescent with Transparent work? I am not sure what is the difference between Fluo and Transp. Vallejo paints.
Are there any Citadel paints that could be used instead of the Vallejo fluorescent one? Even different colors entirely, but that could give the same glowing effect. I'm asking because in my country Citadel are the pretty much the only ones generally available via GW resellers.
Mr Squidmar, can you please list other glow colors beside this orange? Which ones do you use for green, yellow, etc? Thanks!
I don’t have any Vallejo paint is there a GW color similar I can use for the base part?
wow! cool effect. Thank you for this tip, what kind of paint is the fluorescent one? Vallejo, citadel?

Hi. A genuine question here. Do you allow to paint to dry completely before you move on to the next stage of application or is to be done over wet paint? Great video BTW!
What's the name of the 2 fluorescent colours that u used on this video to buy here in Sweden? The orange and green color I mean. Amazing videos;) tack
Would be great to see a silent, fast time lapse of a full spruce to proper base of a model :)
You know you have made it when Skillshare sponsors you.

Haha, looks fancier than it is :)
If I was looking to get feedback on some miniatures, would the discord or FB group be a good place for that or are there other better places you would reccomend?
That's better than the standard Space Marine eyes I reckon
Is there a way to apply this technic to skull eyes? What's the GW equivalent og that Vallejo colour?
@SquidmarMiniatures
4 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can apply it in the same way on skulls. GW don't have any Flourescent colors
Hi Emil and community. Any tips on websites that i can buy a starter kit för painting WH40k figures in Sweden. I need a new and relaxing hobby and love the WH40k universe. Love ur vids! Really nice to watch and relaxing:)

Check out fantasia North, send them an email or give them a call, they'll help you out :)
The orange was mixed with medium to do a glaze?
When the Sorita bends over to pick up the heavy flamer
For the green eyes you use green Vallejo fuor??
Which fluorescent paints are being used? Are they from a special brand or are they very bright colours like Moot Green from GW?
@cjlake5754
4 жыл бұрын
They're from the Vallejo brand of paints in a category of a handful of fluorescent paints. As explained they're slightly different than normal paint, actually flourescing slightly in normal light, I.e returning more visible light than they receive .

@@cn.st.182 haha I was half asleep when I wrote that. you are indeed correct. I meant that It absorbs light across the visible spectrum and re-emits a certain proportion in a specific wavelength associated with the colour of the paint, hence appearing to be bright and vibrant in normal light and glow somewhat in UV light :)
Can anyone recommend a florescent paint for lightning eye?
What color did you use for the eyes on the miniature at 4:15? It’s a green :)
Does it need to be the fluorescent paint?
Love your channel man could you do a episode on painting non metallic metal
@MagatsuNimura

He already has one, check out his library of videos :)
guys, how would you get this effect in white? since there arent white fluorescent colors.
grym eru!
Now we have to see if the GSWorld ones have the same propperties. Cause the range color of model color is like 5 paints.
Emil, can I ask you a question? How did you start with collecting your paint bottles? Did you buy a fixed set like Vallejo Game Set or did you buy several bottles each time as you go along as you need? Thanks Emil

I'd recommend buying the suggested paints for the models your painting. For warhammer it's on the back of the boxes. If your just painting single models you can start with starter kits from d&d , citadel, etc.
