Everyone's talking about how Thomas was a superior singer for Gloryhammer, and I definitely agree, but the new guy's voice has grown on me since I listened to this song a couple of times. He at least doesn't ruin song, and the rest of the music has the same qualities that I love about Gloryhammer.

Put it this way: I see a different Angus with this voice. The original Angus XIII died at the end of album 3. He gave his life without hesitation to ensure evil could not return through himself. There's two possibilities I see here: This is an alternate universe Angus, who instead seeks to escape that fate by literally running away from it. Other possibility: This is a different generation Angus, somewhere between the first and the thirteenth, who has yet to become a hero, and has to grow into the role. In either case, this song still implies he's running from his ultimate fate, because he lacks the sheer indomitability of the first to overcome it, and also lacks the courage of the thirteenth to embrace it. This album will likely be his journey there, to one of those ends.

@Freedan the between 1st and 13th theory is jossed due to the verses in this song mentioning the year 1993, Angus McFife XIII went to another reality (the events of the third album) in 1992, per the song Apocalypse 1992 at the end of the second album. If I had to guess, in the vein of this being a different Angus than Angus McFife XIII from albums 2 and 3, perhaps it is Angus McFife XIV.

Personally, i think they are good in different ways, and good for different songs. I can't imagine Sozos singing the McSix songs, and i can't imagine Thomas singing the songs from Return to the Kingdom of Fife.

While Thomas will always be the one I think of as Angus, Sozosm has a great voice and seeing him perform live in Leeuwarden last month, I can say for sure that he's filling the shoes quite well! The show was lively and the way he interacted with the crowd was phenomenonal ♡

I'm here from the future (June 2nd, 2023). Thomas has launched a new band - Angus McSix - and has already reelased one album for that band. If you like Gloryhammer, you will like Angus McSix. End of story. Gloryhammer has also dropped a new album, and it is amazing! Little - if any - drop in quality between the two singers. Alas, this song, Fly Away, isn't in Return to the Kingdom of Fife (the new Gloryhammer album). However, this song feels like it should be a bonus track, to be played after. I'm not going to say why, since that risks spoiling it, but I think it should be a bonus track. Also, form this future, Gobby Metal's channel is thriving!

The start of this song matches perfectly with the ending of Maleficus Geminus! I love it!

No bad at all. I was worried after Thomas left the band but he's pretty good too.

Third one is my favorite. First has two songs I tend to skip, second and third have none.

To be honest, i was getting kinda really tired of thomas winkler in gloryhammer. Most albums started to mix together in my mind and the third album is my least favorite because of that. Its a more poetic or flowery direction and i quite like it.

I prefer the previous singer
