The way i see it, he brought it upon himself. When he shot the vorpal lazer blaster trough the skies, it ripped reality apart and struck the heavens in half, creating a vortex and souls started to rain from the firmament. That is what brought the starlords of eternity to awaken and erradicate this plane or reality. Hence why they saved brave prince Angus. Or meaby im just overthinking this 😅

Given Zargothrax's declaration that he was freeing the slaves of Angus by claiming their souls as his own undead minions, I am not _entirely_ sure Zargothrax is sane. And I don't just mean, "You madman; you're a psychopath," I mean, his understanding of reality may be cracked enough that he can hold inconsistencies in his head without critically analyzing them.

Look like they had enough, but still dont give much thoughts about it, so they just got someone to deal with it for them with power-up to at least not die too soon.

God, what I would give for this song to get the treatment Keeper of the Celestial Flame got... Alex Henderson's animation paired with this would be absolutely unbelievable.

So are we gonna ignore that Zargothrax won? Oh sure, he and the rest of the unvierse was annihilated, but that was basically his plan in Album 2 when he tried to summon Kor-Viliath. His goal has always been to destroy the universe and Dundee, and by forcing the Starlords' hands, he accomplished that goal

i promise this wasnt part of his plan. you could argue he won because dundee got wiped out but i think more than anything he wanted to regain control, not full destruction. remember, technically this is album 1 zargy (he got thawed from the frozen liquid ice in this song) so his plans werent quite as large-scale as album 2 and beyond

​@@CrusadiaIX yeah thats true, but its clear that the clone zargothrax is simply the right hand man. hes referred to as the "progeny" a few times and, despite them "conjoining themselves at the brain" before the final fight, its clear that their goal is more bent on revenge for the transgressions against zargy in his basket-weaving days (as established in KoTCF) as the line "let you and your kin burn in hell" would suggest. its not about destroying dundee, its just about regaining his homeland from the dundax lineage

I don't know the "Slaves of the armies of Angus" bit is definitely hitting in the same weight class.

At 8:14 I know it's written "Prepare to die" but the delivery makes it seem to me like it's "Prepare TWO die" as it's being said by double wizard.

Poor Knights of Crail. I’d like to believe they had a chance if not for the Vorpal Laserblaster. Also the double wizard part gets me everytime. It’s so epic!

I think it's safe to assume that yeah, without one of the artifacts Zargothrax can't take on the knights. At least not without nuking the fortress or something. Why else would he wait so long to attack Crail?

If Zargi could have gotten through them without the laser blaster he would have, so you're right. But the really sad part is the like about them is "slashing through the brotherhood" so that means Zargothrax clone Alpha one didn't let them just die from the laser blasts, he shot them and then chopped them. He's a prick.

True. Though…let us also consider that in the official music video for the first song of this album…the Clone Alpha One was in Dundee. When the bomb went off, he was in Dundee. When a nuke blew up, he was there, and then just kinda waltzed out. Either the Knights are packing that PREMIUM ass-whoop cans, or Zargothrax wanted to REALLY be a dick about all of this. Both track, in Ernest.

I love how the outro of the song has the leitmotif of the song Angus McFife from the first album.

The funny thing, I finished this entire album in a single drive to work, made it to work right on time and this song finished just before I got outta my car. It’s a 47 minute drive between work and home.

Must have listen to this track at least 50 times already, i still have chills when it gets to the part of "the hammer the knife and the blaster collide ..." This whole album is legendary. My favorite Gloryhammer album!

I actually have a theory that..Angus Mcfife is gonna go and find Angus McSix...Thomas leaving GloryHammer and making a new band I think is an ingenious plan..of you listen to thr McSix album..so many references so it's an alternate (again) timeline...juat as we had double wizards...we will have double Angus..even in Keeper of the Celestial Flame ..they "power sword"..which I think is a nod to Sixcalibur

No This is Universe Matrix 38B. This is an off branch universe of the Original Timeline, and was caused by the Terrorvortex Dimension being set in 992 thus enabling time travel

Holy flaming hammer playing at the end is such a fucking power move, good lord.

If, as it appears, the Starlords willfully destroyed the Earth and all who dwelt there, but CHOSE to save Angus, and treat this as a victory for the survival of the kingdom, I get a lot of Emperor Cartagia vibes, implying (as is the theme from Zargothrax's own song) that maybe the real villains are the McFifes. That said, there is another interpretation I can see: the Starlords were able _only_ to save McFife, arriving too late when they see the three weapons colliding and unable to stop the cataclysm. Or, perhaps, only able to contain it to prevent "total universal annihilation" (which was what Kor-Veliath allegedly promised). In that event, it was the Double Wizards and McFife together doing it, and Angus was seen as not-to-blame because he was just trying to stop the plans of the demon-sorcerer. Still, it seems abrupt, and they don't sound like good guys despite siding with the one good guy they let survive. I do agree, though, with others in this thread: I doubt we've seen the last of multiversal Zargothrax.

I actually really like that theory... The Starlords didn't destroy the universe, The Three Artifacts of Power did. They weren't talking about how THEY would punish them, but what they had already done.

I think it was Sozos' zargothrax voice. Most of the time he is singing from angus' POV so when the zarg is winning it switches to his POV for that part of the song. I love it very much

I know They like their super long ending songs, but I really feel this should have been two songs, separated when the tempo slows and it transitions into the alarms in the cryo chamber. That way, the Robot Prince would be introduced an entire song before he was killed, and most importantly the song would start with DOUBLE! WIZARD!

The only thing not really clear to me is why the Hootsman and Ser Proletius were suddenly missing. I know that Ralathor went through a tear in the time/space continuum after Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde to tell Angus from the past about the path to the Laser Blaster of Pittenweem. I suppose the others died, but it wouldve been cooler if they joined the final battle

Proletius probably was either fighting nuclear goblins or was injured trying to stop the Clone from freeing the original Zargothrax, the song doesnt says that he died so he probably wasnt killed until the Starlords kaboomed the world

Hoots has some connection to the Robot Prince. Either becomes or catches a ride with. 'they'll answer now to Hoots'. (Also apparently being a cyborg powered by a neutron star) As for proletius (I know I misspelled that), probably fighting goblins or got turned into an undead machine.

It is probably that the world was destroyed by the Artifacts colliding, and the Starlords had to eradicate the timeline so that it doesn't cause multiversal rifts

@@JazzKazoo0930 Plus, canonically, there's multiple Angus's. McFife I, II(Sozos), V and XIII. McFife II is the one Sozos plays while Wrinkler was the previous McFife's. Which, Angus McFife XIII, depending on if you count his seperate project, transcends as Angus McSix after he sacrificed himself in the 3rd Album in the Terrorvortex Universe.

All in all, this album is a blast.

So, after having listened to it for a while now, the outright hate for how the final battle is resolved in this song is still there. The song is great right up until then, with the Starlords complaining about people messing with the stuff they left, and then just murdering everyone but Angus because they messed up. At least the callback to "holy flaming hammer of unholy cosmic frost" is also great

Fly Away is about Angus McFife V, unrelated to this album which tells the story of Angus McFife II. Angus McFife V's story will continue in the future as he will be sent to 1993, but not in the next album, which will continue the story of Angus McFife II.

Bet a video based on this would be crazy!

Also, taking this a bit from the animated video for Keeper of the Celestial Flame, but between the references to "evil lies in his brain" and the way he cuts his hand to make his pact that turns him into a dark sorcerer, do you suppose Zargothrax himself is a 'victim' of the Knife of Evil? (Not excusing him; he clearly used it on purpose, if so. But I wonder if there's some way to turn him on himself if a cleansed version sees what he actually will become.)

Is that the knife he used? Based on the diagrams of the Knife of Evil, it seems to me that the knife featured in the video, that was just a regular Knife. I'm pretty sure he finds the Knife of Evil post-evil transformation.

@@britishaceattorney Ah, I had not seen (or at least not recognized) any diagrams of the knife of evil, so I will take your word for it that the one in the video for the Celestial Flame of Abernathy doesn't match up. It was a weak theory to begin with; it's not like it makes much difference, since willingly using it on yourself obviates any exculpatory power being magically turned evil by its use on you might give you. What mostly made me think of it was how "Evil lies in his brain" was used to describe Zargothrax, and something about evil taking root in Proletius's brain _due to_ the Knife of Evil being a similar-sounding situation. And then there's the sheer madness of Zargothrax's beliefs that he's "freeing" people by making them his undead slaves. O_o Or by obliterating an entire universe in which they dwell (or at least consigning it to the 18th hell dimension by unleashing Kor-Veliath on it). But he could just be mad, no magical cause needed. I would love to hear more about what exactly happened that the basket-weaving peasant's home was destroyed by the foundation of Fife, or Dundee, or whatever it was that the first McFife prince built.

See, I'm not one for Metal as it's traditionally thought of. The "Metal Growl" doesn't appeal to me, the sound is a bit too...IDK how to describe...dirty? Scrape-y? And most times, I find nothing but demon-themed or occult-themed groups; and that gets old fast. But _GLORYHAMMER._ Now _that's_ what I'm talkin' about! Clean yet powerful instrumentals, vocals that don't make my ears bleed, tactful usage of _slightly_ more growl-y vocals (for characters like The Hootsman), and entire albums that feel like an epic story experience from a movie or book or video game! I want to find more of _THIS._ Where can I find other bands as badass as Gloryhammer? It scratches _all_ the tingle-spots in my brain, and I need more to satisfy it between album releases!

I know that exactly what you mean. Nothing beats gloryhammer imo but some obvious bands would be Wind Rose, Alestorm (duh), Twilight Force, Angus McSix (literally gloryhammer singer), or if you really want to get silly: Nanowar of steel, Rumahoy.

Ten months late, but the genre you're after is power metal. Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Kamelot, HammerFall etc etc.

*I personally believe The Mecha-King was named 'Evermore', thus making The Robot Prince of Auchtertool the one who reigns **_For_** Evermore, as The King's Heir.*

@@sir.dovahkiinpl8587 No I'm aware that it's another timeline because of the 3rd album, I'm asking if they ended the song by saying "Hey, we're going to reboot everything." Because they killed all the characters (except Angus), destroyed the weapons, and pretty much just left the earth to go somewhere else.

​​​@@VernonMcWilliams The entire Gloryhammer lore timeline is posted by Chris Bowes on the Gloryhammer subreddit. The alternate timeline of the 4th album (38B) is erased except for Angus McFife II and Ralathor. Ralathor 38B sneaked back in time a bit after "Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde" after learning the way through the tunnel of the dwarves to tell the secret to the original Angus McFife I in "The Epic Rage of Furious Thunder". The main timeline without the Zargothrax clone being summoned still stands, with Angus McFife V from "Fly Away" being destined to be sent to 1993, i.e. after the events of Apocalypse 1992.

@@2st486 This album doesnt take place in the terror vortex, but the transmission that was sent from the terrorzone caused the multiverse to fracture and create universe 38B where this all takes place. So in one hand a universe that shouldnt have really existed to begin with is gone I am curious to see what tehy do with the 5th album with just angus, whether new characters come or he finds a different universes of those characters or what

@@pixelsthered Where did you read this? I only ask because I recall seeing Chris state in the GH subreddit that the next album is Angus II again. Although if angus is placed in the main timeline with Angus V then I would love to see a dun dun DOUBLE dun dun ANGUS

Hm, didn't Angus McSIX became a Starlord in the end of his new adventure? Does that make him the new boss of Angus McFife II now? 😂

That's more or less the point of Latin as used by Gloryhammer! In one of their previous songs one of the lines literally translates to "Singing nonsense in Latin", and it *works.*

Honestly, the arrival of the Starlords of the Galaxy seems so anticlimactic. This was the beginning of the final battle, and the boom "gods arrive, zap everything out of existence except one of the guys that meddled with the artifacts (for some reason?), the end". The end could have been somewhat improved if Angus was saved by the hammer, unbeknownst to the starlords, and then the next album would be him trying to get revenge for his homeland, but even then there would still be a deus ex machina in it...

Only album that ended with Angus and Co winning without some sort of Deus Ex Machina showing up to save the day in the final hour is the first one. And, well, why is that bad anyway? Gloryhammer's story is primarily made for humor, so story ending in the supidest way possible is quite on brand for them.

@@DrNiradino While that's true, this time, it is far more massive than usual, at least to me. Usually, it's the Hootsman that acts as the deity in the Deus Ex Machina. Here, it's more anticlimactic than anything. It pops the bubble instead of letting it burst.

@@sherbase I saw a few days ago that Gloryhammer revealed the timeline. This album happens in the "Universe 38B", which is a consequence of the time fracture caused by Zargothrax's death in the Terrorvortex. The Starlords destroyed this Timeline except from Angus II. But the main timeline's Zargothrax stll exists frozen in ice in 1042 in the "Prime" timeline. Interestingly, Ralathor comes from the Terrorvortex and the Ralathor of the FIRST album is the same Ralathor as in this album, while the Ralathor of the second Album is "Prime" Ralathor (AKA Terrorvortex Ralathor who came back in the main timeline). Ye, it's confusing. Just search "Gloryhammer Timeline" as I don't seem to be able to post links.

Kinda of a shitty ending to the album. It's not just that the Starlords showing up is a deus ex machina but the world and everyone dies except for Angus AGAIN!

I... It's taken a long time, but... This is a Gloryhammer song I don't like. It's for two reasons. First reason, I seem unable to really visualize any of it. I've been able to do that with basically every other Gloryhammer song. Secondly... I personally find this to be a *terrible* ending, and it's exactly what I was afraid would happen by bringing Zargothrax back. I feel like all the previous albums were for nothing, since the whole universe has been destroyed and only Angus was allowed to live
