Glock 19 Revisited
Спорт
Taking a fresh look at what is probably the most popular Glock pistol, as well as one of the most popular pistols on Planet Earth, like it or not. What do I think of it NOW! Have my impressions of it changed? Does it still make sense? Do I ever use it? What's the market for it these days? Has it worked for me? Is there anything new to tell about this extremely popular firearm? By the way, I did not mention it in the video, but the G19 I do all the shooting with is the Gen 4 that we did so many videos with two or three years ago. It was a T & E gun from Glock that I bought rather than sending back.

First time I’ve seen John and I think I’ve watched 40 or more videos. Very cool that you and your son share this passion and time together. My mother always goes with me to the range. She was a crack shot herself, but she’s older now and “retired” from it. She is wary of my wanting to shoot, but that’s probably because she doesn’t want me to get hurt. Moms. However, she really enjoys watching me have fun. The range makes me forget about my disabled back and I think that my smile makes her heart happy as well. Sorry to get mushy, but I can relate to the parent/child bonding of shooting.
Bought my glock 19 gen 3 just a few hours ago and I'm ready to go shoot!

+ArtisanTony Yep, this video will make Glock haters throw up, but this is the pistol that causes me to consider some of the characteristics of other very fine pistols negative, such as extra thick slide, large controls that are larger than necessary, double-to-single action triggers, etc. If it's bigger than the G19 in any way, I lean back toward the g19.

thanks for your very informative videos, I have learned so much from your channel and over the last few months have become a lot more comfortable around firearms, just purchased my first handgun and applied for my conceal carry permit.
I just bought my first gun, the Glock 19 Gen 4, a few weeks ago. I've put about 200 rounds through it so far, and I love it. I'm enjoying watching all your videos Hickok!
You do a great job of providing information as well as demonstrating some great shooting skills-love the channel!👍🏻

Glocks rock! Enjoyed meeting you at the Bowling Green KY National Guard Armory gun show about a year ago. You are my "go to review guy" for any new gun purchase and have never led me wrong!
Just bought my second Glock today! I found a Glock 19 SF gen 4. It came with front serrations, extended slide stop, extended mag realease, and night sights! Thanks for the videos I love this gun!
"You can't go wrong with the Glock 19" I went with this recommendation you made for my first handgun! Although I have many others, it is still my favorite!
Love your videos. Always having a great time just shooting down range
Also thank you for the yrs of reviews you have been a huge influence as to what I carry. Life saver is what you truly are...thank you
I had a very hard time deciding what gun to buy untill I saw your videos on the 19. Love my 19. I have since gotten other handguns but you are so right, there will always be a place for a 19 in my safe and on my person.
"I wonder if the gong's awake today..." *gong* "He's awake!"
Owned a 19 years ago traded it for some stupid reason,, since then went through sig 226, sig 320, HK vp9, Canek, CZ p07, m&P`s, 1911s,,,,,all great guns,,,, ended up right back to a 19... what can i say, they eat everything and just plain work. Also love my 26 and 20. Great video. Thanks Hickok45

I love my g19 so much.... I had to buy 2 more just to make sure
I've watched a number of your reviews and my wife and I finally chose two Glock 19 Gen 4 handguns. TN Gun Country in Clarksville spoke highly of you! Thanks for all the education! I'll check out your shooting tips playlist and the accessories you use too. Again, Thanks!
Ridiculously awesome with the long range accuracy! Thank you for your awesome channel! Keep it up!
Have to say, the 19 is my favorite carry. It was my first but my daily carry at the office is a single stack 9. The 19 fits me in all respects. I can easily ring the steel or waste the paper at center mass. I wish I owned more guns that fit this well. There are ALOT of excellent guns out there, but for me, I take my trusted friend along as often as possible. Even if you have no intention of giving up your favorite, the 19 is definitely one you too could call friend. Thanks for all the excellent videos. I hope none of us EVER have to defend our lives, but thankful we can. God bless.

jon gibson Definitely! I have large hands and it fit well. I like the overall feel and how it's not too big or too small. The 17 felt a bit unnecessarily large and the 26 was too small. Also 9mm is plentiful. Also there's so many parts available for it.

Another great video. Over the years I have owned Taurus, Sig, H&K, etc., etc. I now have only Glocks. I have never had one fail on me, the triggers are the some from caliber to caliber, and I just love them.
Sir, you're such an inspiration! you can shoot! I bought a Glock 19 ten days ago and today is the day I pick it up! I'm so excited! my first gun. I hope one day to be half as good of a shooter as you!
I was a glock hater for a long time, bought a glock 19 and its the only gun i carry around.
What a great video. I love seeing you shoot Glocks, you just look like you're having a blast! You are in your element.
just got a gen4 19 only because me marine corp son told me about the marines switching to the glock. I really love it and now carry it. I also carry the .40 shield and sometimes my sig 1911 stainless carry but the 19 is a great size and feels great. Love all your videos. All informative and no bullshit. Keep them going.
I agree with John, it is a functional gun that is reliable and great for concealed carry. Love your videos and straightforward opinion. Greatest selling point for me is the reliability and watching you peg targets demonstrates for me that the gun 'works'. As far as the grip, like John said, not a glove, it's a gun and I just want it to do its job. Thanks guys, really appreciate your time and experience you provide. I was going to purchase a 17 but after watching your videos, going with the 19 gen 4 and going to get my concealed carry. I currently have a Springfield Armory XD9 and it's great for shooting but I wouldn't want to carry it so going with the 19. Hope Glock appreciates you. Really trust your opinion. Thanks again!
Hey Hickok, It has been about 2 years since you've done a Glock 26 video. I enjoyed this Glock 19 revisited video. The Glock 26 is by far my favorite handgun. I've been carrying the Glock 19 gen 3 for 3 years now. Trust it with my life. And it makes a good range gun too, have 3 of them now and lots of parts. Thanks for the content!!
You are the reason why in August of 2021 I bought myself my first firearm. A Glock 19 3rd Gen and it’s felt soooooo good in my first visit to a indoor range 😻 the guy over the counter also mentioned there’s more cheaper “interchangeable” for that generation than the 4th and 5th. I can’t wait to put my first 1000’th round in it and finally clean it like you do 😿
This is one of the best channels on youtube. Not just gun an ammo, just in general
Glock 19 was my first firearm this year and it’s great! These reviews are excellent as well and give great information for new and experienced gun owners. My next Glock will be a 35, similar to the 34 but chambered for 40 S&W, and can be easily converted with a barrel change to a 9 mm.

Great review. Have carried and shot a G19 2nd Gen since they first were available. Finally changed the barrel last year. Of my entire stack of handguns, my G19 is the primary carry. Oh, and never a fail to feed except from a few faulty ammo loads. Yes, the factory ammo manufacturer reimbursed me for the ammo and trouble.

deucedeuce22oz I think it’s just that you hear so much about Glock perfection. Glock this, Glock that. Glock Glock Glock. However most people that buy Glocks end up spending several hundred more dollars on them. When you don’t need to do that with other manufacturers. The sights aren’t good. The grip isn’t the best. The grip angle is wrong. Trigger isn’t the best. Others look better. On and on. Having said all that still to this day, all other polymer striker fired handguns are compared to Glock. Hell I think my next gun may be a Gen 5 mos g19.

The point John made about the overemphasis of comfort is a very interesting one.
I came into my first Glock (19 g3) about the time this vid came out. By fluke. A guy I worked with needed some $. Before that day you couldnt have given me one, and I had full intentions of of just trading it off for something I enjoy more. (Revolver) .Im old school. All my semi autos with the exeption of .22lr target handguns had to have a hammer.Even though at the time my ccw was still a revolver.(357 mod 66 no dash 4 in. I bought new. Well, for some reason I decided to shoot that G19 gen3 one day at a fellow revolver buddys backyard shooting range. I rang steel with every pull of the trigger for 4 full mags. I never did that with a revolver to this day with the same amount of rounds. As bad as I hate to admit, that unattractive gun won my handgun heart that day. I still own and truck gun it, and a gen 4- 19, and. 4 other Glocks. A 19c is on the bucket list. And Im not sorry guys. Life is good!

My Gen 2 made in March of 1997 is still my favorite 9mm and as I become more weight sensitive I find myself carrying it almost exclusively. I don’t see me replacing it with anything else anytime in the near future and I’m quite sure one by of my youngster relatives will probably be carrying it far into the future after I’m gone. Do I own other pistols? You bet and I’ve carried each of them over the years but I kept coming back to my 19.

Been watching the channel for a long time. Never realized you were in Clarksville. My grandmother grew up there! Always enjoyed visiting her family up there when I was a kid!
What a great summary on the Glock 19. I admit I'm a latecomer to the Glockaide, mainly because of your videos, Mr. Hickok45. I had written them off several years ago because although I respect their reliability and simplicity, the grips felt so horrible to me, and the triggers were so variable. But based on watching your videos, I recently checked into the Gen 4 Glocks, and bought both a 19 and 41. They are different, less refined than some of my other firearms, but simple, reliable and fun to shoot. And the Gen 4's fit my (smallish) hand much better, point more naturally, and I do like the new grip texture a lot (though I have added Talon grips to them). So thank you for helping me keep an open mind (not my strong suit at my advanced age) and encouraging me to revisit the Glocks. I now carry my Glock 19 Gen 4 or Springfield XDs 9mm, depending on the circumstances, and love them both dearly. On the range guns, I'm still going back and forth (and back and forth, and back and forth) on the XDM 5.25 and Glock 41 in .45 ACP. Very different firearms, but both having their points. Then again, when I want to break the tie, I shoot my Colt Gold Cup series 70 - as close to perfection as has ever been designed. Thank you John Browning. And thank you Hickok45.
As a relatively new shooter who has chosen the Glock 19 Gen 4 as my EDC, I just want to thank you for this video. I had actually been thinking (from reading on the internet that I've been doing) that maybe I needed to bump up to the Glock 23 for the gains that .40 would bring. I think I'll just have confidence in in what I've chosen and stick with it - and maybe add the 26 Gen 4... ;-)
Love my Glock 19 gen 3
Looking at the sig P320 and the Glock 19. Like your reviews. Always great shooting. Thanks.
