GLOCK 17MOS Gen 5 with RMR...…..what nobody tells you is needed.
Спорт
Quick preview of how to instal an RMR on your GLOCK MOS and the Trijicon Plate you'll need that does not come with pistol (TRIJICON AC32064). Holosun507 shares the same footprint as RMR so either optic will fit.

THANK you for showing proper gun safety. You didn't make a "big" thing about it - it seemed natural and something you normally do. But for everyone it should be a "BIG" thing. ALWAYS proper gun safety - regardless.

I'm sticking with Night Fision sights. I have seen one local cop with that optics setup. The departments are fairly easy going with add ons for their officers.
Best lubrication and anti-friction and heat I have tried in 40 years is Weapon Shield. Have Glock 17 Gen 1-4 and getting the Gen 5 in a few days.
You should also coat a thin layer of dielectric grease around the plate where it meets the o-rings.
Glock 19 & 17 Gen 5 is Amazing in the world
Hello, So if I go with the holosun 508T which is the one I’ve been looking at, use the #2 plate that came with the pistol?, that’s all I need correct?
I'm putting together the same gun for competition but with the C&H Precision plate (rear-sight-forward version) that kills the rear and back gaps and has extra/better posts to take the sheer stress off the screws; the newly released Holosun HS507C-X2 with the ACSS Vulcan Reticle (a very innovative red dot - worth a look); and the newly released Timney Alpha trigger which also looks amazing. ..I can't wait to beat a few of the comp guys who poo poo on Glocks as a competition gun! ..and no, I'm not trying to advertise these products! - they just look great from what I've seen and heard.

@@rexdaledave yeah I've been very happy with Holosun - I currently have one on my 12G shotgun (the Eotec one - I think it's a 508?) and another on my .22LR lever rifle and have nothing but good things to say about them. That said, I'd love to try out the RMR's and especially the Trijicon SRO for competition ..they're just soo pricey when compared with what you get from Holosun! Why did you end up going with the Holosun over the RMR for your Glock (just curious).
@rexdaledave
3 жыл бұрын
@@KanesTrades I had the EOTech version, 510 Elite with the Green Dot and i loved it. I only sold it because we can not use our AR's anymore. The RMR i have is the Fiber Optic one with 9 MOA dot. it works great but i find the dot is too big for target shooting at 10m. I prefer the 2 MOA dot of my holosun. Plus the F/O RMR is based on ambient light so it works great when i shoot outdoors, but my indoor club has terrible lighting so the dot is not as bright as i'd like. I suspect the RMR Type 2 models would be perfect but like you said, they are too pricey.
Nice review. Just a little advice, never loosen screws with your torque wrench.

@@rexdaledave torque wrenches are calibrated and by design are only used for tightening. You can damage the calibration and make them not accurate by loosing nuts or bolts with them. I speak from experience because i have used them for 35 years. Even under normal use you should have the calibration checked every few years.👍🇺🇸

This is the M.O.S. model. It has the slide milled for mounting optics directly into the slide.

unless you have small hands, I'd say go with the 17. The 19 is a great carry guy which we can not do in Canada. I think for target shooting or IPSC the 17 is a better choice. Or you can look at the 19x which is the 19 frame with the 17 slide/barrel. You get the advantages of the smaller frame with the accuracy of a longer barrel and increased sight radius..........but that doesn't come in MOS configuration

@@rexdaledave Shouldn't matter size of hands. They both are the same thickness. It comes down to how long the slide and grip are. G19 grip is plenty long enough for larger hands, so once again its just size for rd capacity and easier accuracy cuz the 17 has a longer slide. Both are excellent. G19 is the most popular handgun in the usa. I have owned one for years. Looking at getting a g17 now for a shtf side arm. I own about 7 or 8 glocks now lol but no g17 surprisingly.

How is the optic sitting lower going to have anything to do with the recoil ??? And that would be alpha charlie not cobra.

from what i've seen other people say, the lower the optic sits, the better the balance/center of gravity.....so it has less muzzle rise. Not sure if it's huge difference or even noticeable.
That's great, the back straps 'incorporated' a beaver tail, so the word ''include" is now deemed as profane as the word "buy." I'm glad I'm this old.

@@jameshutton2587 The C&H plate is good. It is lighter than FCD plate. You just have to be careful not to over torque with the aluminum. The plate I received was a hair big and I filed it down to fit so its super snug. Also with the C&H plate you do not need the sealing plate for RMR. The plate is wider than the stock Glock MOS plate eliminating the seal plate.
