Totally agree. They bring her up for this and plug her book about free speech yet she always complains about anyone with a different opinion are bad and wrong and shouldn't be allowed to say what they do or have any platform. Let people say what ever they want and you get to decide if you like what they say or not. Letting people say what they truly think feel or believe is best to have it out in the open instead of them hiding it. You will be better informed on who you chose to associate with. Not only is the killing of freedom of speech just about the speech but also steeling your freedom of choice . Your choice of what you want to hear and who you want to hear it from.

Yeah, but it's a stupid point. Comedy is art, and just like a painter or musician, a comedian can use their art to make political points, entertain, offend or inspire awe. It's really up to the comedian what they want their comedy to do. The only requirement is that it's at least funny/amusing. That was Shane's point, and he's right. If you just wanna make ppl laugh with fart/genital jokes, that's great. I'd you wanna make ppl laugh while criticizing a political movement, that's also great. "It's just jokes" is a reductionist and incomplete take.

Judy really ruined a majority of this. Thanks, my ears are bleeding and my kids crying.

Louis CK’s bit on abortion was a great example of this, he made the case for why people are against abortion and their reactions but then showed his actual belief. It was hilarious and really made people think about the other side of their beliefs. Wish Louis would be on one these, he’s one of the smartest guys.

@@myusername5937 I’ll take this one, in short hypocrisy. She admonished Shane and Andrew as “white men” while doing almost every single thing on stage she was calling out. If Shane called her a “black woman” they would have lit him up. They couldn’t even respond without her making it about “can I talk again white man I wasn’t finished”. She opened with “cancel Shane Gillis” and it sure didn’t feel like a joke especially since she worked there during that time period. She then decided she was in charge of who was permitted to talk, talking over or stopping conversation. Even answering audience questions she hits on the woman with a “hey shawty” and eyeballs her. Just imagine Shane saying the things she said about white men but about her community and hit on people asking questions. If she thinks exclusion equates to equality maybe it’s just a NYC thing but you are nuts if you thought she was spitting wisdom.

@@imnotbenavery9220 I watched it again. If I had to bet, I’d bet every dollar I have that she was saying “cancel” Shane sarcastically. I’d also bet Shane feels the same way. Her saying people not understanding nuance anymore and people running with shit to fuck your life up and as an artist that’s super scary and she doesn’t agree with it. She referred to all “mobs” being people who haven’t tapped into their true potential, and individually they’re probably decent people, but together they’re dumb/followers. I think she’s mostly referring to the “woke” mob. This was the “truth bomb” I was referring to, as I whole heartedly agree that the woke have ruined a lot of entertainment that I once enjoyed. Now, when they had a little back and forth, I think she did that solely to stand up for Judy Gold. I admire that, even if I despise Judy and the “comedians hold truth to power” statement they made. To the bigger point, non-comedy related, you’re taking everything way too personal. Woke people do the same. To take offense to a generalization or someone saying “white man” when referring to a white man is absurd to everyone outside of America. This hardly affects you. The policing of language around the work place and huge spike in political correctness has affected a very small percentage of white guys. And no, you can’t say the n-word while black people can still say it, but I’d bet they’d trade white people getting to say it for not getting pulled over as much as other races.
