Great video, Glens auto performance has everything for the Silverado
Nice upgrade!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Looks good. Cant go wrong with an upgraded ATF cooler.
Great video and details, I am about to pull the trigger on my Silverado 06, 269k miles on the tranny, and only one tranny oil change since new. Runs and shifts like new even with the 5,000 Boat on the hitch.
Good video, good information! I noticed when you get up there is little to no grunting. You’re so agile
I just installed a new 6.0 along with a bunch of new parts including a new radiator in my 2500hd. I looked for a way to run a aftermarket cooler and couldn’t find any good options. I’ll be looking into this. Thanks.
great video
Anyone else hear the ghost at 15:40. Nicely done!
Great job on the I stall! My question is since you completely bypassed the radiator, what is the Trans temp in the winter time? I'm looking to do this mod to my 04 avalanche 5.3 but am concerned out the winter time temps. Thank you!
BIHH CLEANNNN 🙌🏾👌🏾🤘🏾👍🏾✊🏾💯🔥.. P.s I like this kit better then LsxMatt 😬.
Did you ever install the cold weather bypass? I just recently bought the kit myself and was interested in doing it.
Thinking about installing this same set up. How are the temps driving in winter and summer with the radiator bypassed?
This lines are heavy duty will not cause leak?
any rebate codes for glenns auto performance?
What headers you got? What's your setup?
So what actual trans temp are you running now?
So much easier to cut the two hard lines and flare and bend the hard lines they sell at the parts store. The stainless line looks cool though.
How much was everything?
I wish you got some clearer video of the fittings and hose coming off the transmission. Very dark i couldn't see anything
Would you recommend putting a direct trans line to the cooler and bypass the radiator?

I run through the radiator as well as the 40k. The thing that keeps it cool is as much the fluid volume and bypassing the radiator reduces total possible volume.
I just ordered this whole set up for my 04 tahoe. I have a question? Are you able to mount the cooler with the hose fittings up with the gap bracket? And have you heard about this cooler not being self bleed so mounting the cooler like the factory one causing the 40k cooler to only use half? I'm wondering is that is true?

Very true. Countless people mount these upside down and only use 25% of the cooler which is a waste of cooling and money

@@fredonthecuttzent.8405 I guess the engineers who made it dont know what they are talking about. Go to their website, they say can be mounted whichever way.
$250 for that little kit and you have to zip tie lines. I’ll just use oe lines rather. that’s insane money for brackets and some lines essentially

So did u just cap the radiator trans ports ? I didn't see what u did there.

Yup just used some hose and plugged the inlet into the outlet.
How did you bleed the system for any air? Also how much fluid did you use to fill it back up?
@EndlessWishlist

It has a pump. It doesn’t need to be bled.

Did the bracket kit come with the lines and fittings?

@@EndlessWishlist I asked Glenn the same question. Maybe just twist off the quick connects and screw in a barbed fitting, attach a small nipple of hose, and screw a bolt into the hose to seal it off. How did you do it.
@EndlessWishlist

If I remember correctly the trucool kit came with 2 barbed fittings that fit the radiator. Then just got a small piece of hose and looped them together

What trans pan do you have?

Why would they use the radiator if it didn't work? Keep it goin thru the radiator. The fans cool the radiator
@nymack66
Жыл бұрын
Because if you live in Florida as I do, no need to heat your transmission oil, hence the reason for the cooler upgrade.
I am amazed(not really) that some people actually think bypassing the transmission cooler that is in the radiator is the way to go. SMH

The cooler in the radiator should not be bypassed in the northern states/Canada, and up there they should be running the aftermarket cooler with the thermostat. Otherwise your transmission would never warm up when it's -10, -20, -50 below.
@Mr_Ruhl

@@CharlieWayneAdventures the built in LPD feature should take care of that no?
@casheighty8
2 жыл бұрын
In areas where there are no winters it may suffice but anywhere where there will be cold driving the radiator should not be bypassed. Transmissions don’t like cold fluids and the 40k cooler has a kit that comes with a thermal bypass installed pre-cooler with the intention of sending cold trans fluid back to the transmission for reheating.
Any update? is run cooler now?
@EndlessWishlist

Yes running right where it should.
You have it upside down, it will have an air pocket in that radiator!

The trans has a pump in it. After a few seconds it will be fine. This is how they come from the factory.
The instructions are just some other guys opinion 😂
