This is so bad it’s actually funny how (whoever leads the project, not counting the artists because I’m sure they worked hard...) they can add swears to Glenn’s pieces, when he hated profanity. And by the way, they remastered the Goldberg Variations uploads came ou this week, just what we need in these times.

How unoriginal are we to destroy something that has already been perfected? Gould spent his entire life mastering his interpretation of music and now the Glenn Gould foundation comes out with this? Gould wouldn't approve not only because of what they are doing to his music but to the composers who wrote it.

It wasn’t the Glenn Gould foundation, and yes, Bach would probably hate it...why?.....

I don’t recall GG ever using the F-word, or ‘bitch’ in anything I’ve ever seen of him. This is pathetic. Shame on the GG Foundation! ❌❌❌

I have to ask, though, based on your comment, who in the heck controls and/or runs this official GG channel? You made a comment in one of the promo videos that I thought, perhaps mistakenly, suggested that the GG Foundation was involved in this project. If not, then who controls this channel, if you know?

Wow, I really wanted this project to not be completely terrible but oh my god... I listened to every single track to make an honest opinion, and I think it's so bad I have no words to describe it. It's not only artistically lacking in every way, has no meaning or slightest understanding of why GG is such a legend, but it's so extremely disrespectful, with all these f- words that I truly hate this project. It's simply lame. And I don't think that GG is untouchable sacred treasure, he had of a lot of distance and open mind for sure, but you have no idea what you are doing

The level of complexity that Gould worked at is totally disregarded in these awful remixes. Please if you don’t have something of somewhat equal value to offer, do not drag his name down to this level. You might as well have had any slightly competent pianist play this one riff and make your music over that. This has nothing to do with Glenn Gould and to suggest that it does, is not only ignorant of what he did, it’s also arrogant in its association with his work.

@@dopefaseneverdies3241 - Because I’ve been an admirer of Glenn Gould for four decades, and this project is an abomination that is using Gould’s image, genius and charisma to promote music, some of which I frankly find offensive. Pretty simple, wouldn’t you say?

@@jjmckenna art is subjective to change . furthermore, much like the tongue- every human has different tastes and not everyone can be pleased with every outcome and to be quite frank with you mr mckenna ... alot of glenns fanbase wont be around in another 20 years. this project wasnt made to "tickle your fancy" so to speak but rather bring his legacy and pristine works of art to a broader audience (and younger) who wouldn't normally be into glenns work or even know the name.... and it has been working as planned. mind the generational gap as you may. i dont expect you to understand completely the complexity of this idea and you may think this is very unorthodox but times are changing brother. stay well! u can always youtube his older works if change pains you the way it does.

@@dopefaseneverdies3241 - I think you might have a point if these tracks actually had anything to do with Glenn Gould , but...they don’t. You might be surprised to know that my favorite genres of music other than classical are doom metal and dub techno, but that’s a conversation for another time.

This is a 'project' sanctioned by the Glenn Gould Estate, and this official Glenn Gould channel. It is a money-making enterprise, not a charity project. I believe this ill-conceived venture was possibly motivated in part by the insane viral success of 'Hamilton,' taking hip-hop and trying to meld it with something more historical. That's a hunch, as I have no evidence for my intuitive 'hot take,' but I have no other explanation as to why the keepers of Gould's legacy would agree to something this derivative and bizarre.
