It's an awesome production of music mirrored with Gould's unique styles, and which, very much appreciated.

This is just shameful, it's not that I'm against creating something new out of existing works but it has to be done with respect and regard to the original artist's intentions. Glenn would not approve of this rubbish!

This is a banal, repetitive exercise in trickery. Simplistic and meaningless, an example of the dumbing-down of culture. If it helps more people get to know the real Glenn Gould -- his multi-dimensionality, his dedication to art that is transcendent -- then good. But for those of us accustomed to Gould in his pure Gouldian form, this little exercise is a headache.

I have a handful of videos showing me unboxing backgammon sets, and I have more subscribers than several of the artists on this album. WTF? This is a slap in the face to GG fans worldwide.

I have to admire the tenacity of your pettiness. To write a different comment under each and every one of those videos... bravo, good sir! A lesser man would go "I suppose this isn't for me." and move on. But you wouldn't rest until everyone knows about your disappointment. Hark, hark... meh.

@@jjmckenna Ah yes, beautiful, the old switcheroo. 'Tis I who wastes my time. (Late in the evening, when the dust of the day has settled and the glare of the screen fades away on your retina, you'll lie awake and ask yourself: "Really though... why did I spend so much energy on something I don't care about? Something that clearly isn't for me? When I could have listened to Glenn Gould? When I could have played Backgammon? When I could have complimented someone's work that I do enjoy? Why did I need everybody to know?") Good night.

Gould’s been belittled to such a role that loops him to oblivion. I don’t believe that this is what he had in mind about the composer, performer, and listener becoming unified. That being said, regardless of the views on this experiment, it’s an interesting prospect and I hope its offshoots spark something more “faithful” and palatable(for us classical fans).

if you divorce the song from the idea of gould or the forced sample, it's actually not even a bad song by today's standards.. I think you would have been better off just taking the IDEAS of gould and applying them to modern music, not this shoehorned sampling of gould. Why not, say do something with strong counterpoint in a modern hiphop setting, or maybe radically reinterpret a well known pop song, both ideas Gould espoused in his time? instead, it just ended up being generic modern songs with out-of-place samples of gould thrown in..

Although Glenn Gould had his critics, the proportion of posts related to these videos is far more skewed to the negative then Gould had ever encountered. While popular opinion is no benchmark for quality, the nature of the comments posted here tends to suggest that the true fans of Gould are disgusted. Whoever has produced this garbage should think twice!

Honestly I love this! Coming from a classical backround, I really enjoyed this experiment! I hope there’s a volume two! My only criticism i would say is the production is a bit to overdone especially in the panning.

If the execution isn't great, it'd be better for everyone to just kind of give execution critiques as opposed to "uH wEll YoU SeE...
