Glen Campbell & Mom & Dad Sing "The Shadow of the Pines"
Ойын-сауық
From March 21, 1972, Glen Campbell & his mom & dad, Wes & Carrie Campbell, sing "The Shadow of the Pines", preceded by a brief clip from the start of the show showing Glen, Jerry Reed, & R.G. Brown as babies, with Dom DeLuise gloating over them. Glen didn't know it at the time, but this was the final show of his series, and this was the final song sung on the series.

Very nice I wished his dad and mom made albums just like the Carters but better! You see the sunshine radiate from their souls
I always admire people who treasure their parents.. Because I love my parents more than anything in this world.
Glen, you have seen the Lord and are resting in perfect peace. You are reunited with your sweet parents. God bless you and rest in peace
God Bless them all...
Now that's some real good mountain music right there .. thanks folks
I stumbled upon this KZread video...and pretty much decided that this is going to be my favorite go-back-to to watch. God bless Glen's mom and dad, may they rest in peace as their son, has now taken his seat at the Heavenly Family Kitchen table...all of them once more singing together, with Glen's guitar in hand...and NO HARP...lol. What a wonderful NUCLEAR family he grew up in....and you know...it showed throughout his life. How his daughter must have adored her Paternal grandparents!
What a beautiful harmony! Love Wesley's lead singing and his happy sense of humor. Too bad him and his wife didn't make albums during the depression because they would have sold many! God Bless them and the whole family! May the circle be unbroken By and By Lord!
When mom joins in it really evokes a Carter family sound. Awesome stuff.

I am still overwhelmingly sadden to hear of Glen's passing two weeks ago but I'm glad to know that he died at a 'ripe old age' of 81 yrs. old. He looks more like his Mom & has her facial strong features. I love all his hit songs & I have one of his CD. I value & treasure this especially now that he's gone but never forgotten! We'll miss you very much Glen!
His parents are fantastic and they sing & harmonize very well. 💙

I agree. IMO Glen favored his mama. Debby favored her dad. Stands to reason she'd also favor her grandmother.
Thanks.. So Special for us all.. RIP GLEN 💔 🎵🎵
What a way to end the series--with his Mom and Dad on the show! Thanks so much for posting!
Beautiful happy family. Glen was very proud of his parents. He acknowledged their contributions in his life and showcased their talents at every opportunity. May their souls rest in peace. And may their musical legacy continue through their surviving family members.

Beautiful time. Those were sweet times.
I have to let my eyes leak. We used to gather around my grandparents piano and sing after church on Sunday evening. This was the kind of time we would have.

Sweet family sound for sure.
Well I always wondered where Glen Campbell got his good looks from. And now I think I see. His mother must have been a real beauty as a young woman.

That's one big reason so many of us have stopped watching TV. The set is now just a fixture in the house waiting for the Super Bowl.

joe doe Good description, John Doe. We are pretty much the same except for SF Giants' games. The way things have been going for our baseball team, however, we may end keeping it off except for Super Bowl Sunday.
Glen adjusts to their tempo on the fly. Nice.

Glen used to say by the time he came along all the other parts were taken so he sang harmony a lot.

PERFECT HARMONY FAMILY. GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
So Very Sweet.
Love that his accent comes out when he says, "DEE-light , Arkansas!" (Which of course is the only right way to say it. 😉 ) I know they're all up home now.
A happy memory of Glen with his parents singing together.
His Dad sang so good

they both did imo...just beautiful to see a superstar like Glen not forgetting his roots. His genuine humility was one of the many things I appreciated about Glen....may he rest in peace now 🙏

His father died in 1984, but his mother was still alive at age 83 in 1988. I don't know when she passed away.
Fabulous.
love it!
Glen Campbell was a SUPER STAR, the 7th son among 12 kids.
All three rip with Jesus
Glen Campbell loved his parents!
Interesting how the timing is different for the verse and the chorus.
love it
Beautiful
Very nice!
Very nice and very touching,
Very good happy new year
Now I know why Glenn looked so young. His mom and dad didn’t have any wrinkles
Best of the U.S.
I have heard the poem "Footprints",. I have heard the poem fingerprints, thanks Glen for carrying me!
Very special 😊🙏🏻
Bravo!
💟
Great.
RIP
That is a beautiful dress the Mrs. is wearing.
rip
While it's an observation, not criticism; it sounded like age caught up with dad's voice, assuming he ever did have a good decent singing voice, and mom's voice has remained fairly strong
Well Glen obviously loved his parents as most positive successes do. Old songs like that while somber and maybe a little dreary also have a poetic and spiritual quality that is elemental and probably goes back as far as music has ever been sung before electronic technology. It’s kind of emblematic of a family intimacy that really no longer exists.
How does any woman who spit out and fed 12 kids without a nanny sing, walk, sit up straight, or do anything else? She was always pregnant.

She also helped “work” the farm. She'd bring the little ones along with her. Glen would sit on the bag of cotton she picked as she dragged it back home at the end of the day. Different times, different circumstances, different way of life.
He looks like his mom😊
At this time, glen was a studio musician playing bass for the Beach Boys and was making probably minimum session wages.
I would have preferred "Crying Time."

Too bad we couldn’t have had both.
My understanding this was the very last season for the JC Goodtime Hour.
I see where he got his talent.
Glen did'nt lick it off the stones
Just mid America country folks
Back then we did not have the society known as 'WOKE' and Politically Correct, they sang their hearts out and enjoyed the freedom to express their family roots and their morality.
Not their first rodeo. Lol. Good stuff.
Big family man, yet he disinherited 3 of his own kids
