As the mother of two sons, I was so touched by the effort that went in to planning this special day for the parents. I smiled and cried watching it. What an extraordinary family!

I have the impression that your parents did a very good job raising you to be such an interesting, intelligent and open person.

I really agree with you, but don’t worry, time does the job ;)

It amazes me how much cheaper Europe is than the United States. I just spent 10 days traveling from London to Rome through Paris, Lucerne, Venice, and Florence and I couldn’t get over how reasonable everything was cost wise. We were warned Lucerne and Switzerland in general would give us sticker shock, but what I paid for a delicious Swiss beer is what I’d pay for a bottle of yeungling at the shitty dive bar down the street from where I live. And I live in the poverty stricken part of New York State. 275 euros a plate seems like an absolute steal to me at a Michelin star restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. I’ve spent more than that at a just a normal restaurant in my city and it was only 3 courses. By the way Paris ended up being my favorite city of the entire trip, totally understand why you moved there, until you’ve visited it you really can’t comprehend how beautiful it is.

With a family of 4 boys living all over the US and Finland, we really appreciated the reunion aspect of this video. We’ve followed your parents on their journey to France since we are hopefully doing the same next year. It was also fun to see KJ pop up as we have followed their story as well. Great video!

The love between mother and son at the end there was so palpable and wonderful to experience. Thank you for bringing us along for the ride 💖💖💖

Your father speaks A LOT about food in his videos so I knew he would love it. My husband and I ate at a Michelin star restaurant in Italy for our 30th anniversary and had a similar experience…minus the view. But being there together is what made the video. This is so heartwarming! I would also recommend the restaurant “Le train bleu” in Gare de Lyon - wayyy more affordable but still high-end the restaurant is absolutely stunning (like a renaissance museum really) and the food is also insane!

A few years back, hubby and I had this same type of experience at Per Se in NYC - where the love, passion, and respect for food and service was shown by everyone there and I simply could not express my joy and gratefulness enough although I had a similar expression as your parents - eyes shut, gentle smile and a little nod. I came from a family of five, being the youngest of three children. Last week my older brother passed away. He was preceded in death by my sister, mother and father. So this week has been spent in contemplation, as I pondered being the final survivor of the original nuclear family.
