I thought I was the only one who didn't really like the Hating Game, so it was a relief to hear your thoughts! I don't remember enough to know if I'd classify some of the hero's actions as non-consensual, but I do remember finding some of the reveals at the end to be really weird/creepy. Like doesn't he reveal he painted his walls to match her eye color the day they met? Ummmm I would run screaming if I were her LOL. And also he kept notes on what she was wearing every day hahahaha...I was just quite confused on that one generating so much hype. Anyways, loved the idea for this video and hearing your opinions on all these!

Good for you for giving them a second chance! It takes hell nearly freezing over for me to pick up another book if I hated the first one 😂

Yesss love this idea! I'm terrible at second chances. Once I hate something I have such an aversion to trying again so this would be such a good idea for me. Excited to see what you think!

I agree with you on Sally Thorne. I didn't like the hating game too which is weird bec I love hate to love romance. I too read her second book, still didn't work for me. I read her third book I didn't like it either. I don't think I mesh well with her books. Oh well.

Second First Impressions was my first Sally Thorne novel. I liked it, but it was a little slow. The synopses of her previous books have just never grabbed me, and Second First Impression wasn't good enough to make me overcome my aversion to the premises. The only other author that I've read on this list was Abby Jimenez. I also didn't care for the end of the friend zone. I'm surprised that no one in the publishing process thought that was invalidating. There was an obvious lack of honest sensitivity readers in the process. I did end up really enjoying life's too short, though I kind of wish it had ended up as a tragedy? I think I read it at a time when I just really needed a good cry, and it certainly gave me that.

Ahhhh im so glad we had similar thoughts!!! I definitely agree with you that early reviewers could have been used to assess the friend zone better and edits could have been done! Life's too short was a mixed emotion ending for me. Obviously, a HEA is needed but i like how honest about how they would take it day by day together! Ill have to listen to the audiobook for second first impression since you mentioned it being a bit slow 😅

i dont like the hating game at all. the inner dialogue of the main character was not for me. and in Second First Impressions...i had to dnf-i tried to get through it..but once again im not into the main character! so weird-but one person's trash is another person's treasure! in this case-so many people loved these books. I think i liked the hating game more than this second one, because i like enemy to lovers and i did like some things haha. (oh btw I tried to read 99 percent mine...nope ..not for me) so i think sally thorne is this first author ...i can respectfully say..it just doesnt click for me and i did give it three shots...3 strikes you're out sally! haha

I read American Panda last year and all your thoughts resonated so much with me. I hated that book so so much because of all the bad rep that an asian girl got in that story not only with the relationship side but also with all the naivete and the REALLY strict parenting that just want a trophy child. I gave her a second chance with Our Wayward Fate but I also hated that as well 🤣😅 I just accepted that she's not an author for me I also didn't like The Hating game. I just don't get the hype that much. . .Finally found someone that didnt like it as well

So did you know that The Friend Zone was based on her friend's story as it happened to her friend? Did you not read the author's note? So how is that insensitive when she's writing her friend's story? What about people with fertility issues who are able to conceive? Your credibility as a reviewer is questionable. How am I supposed to trust you as a reviewer? I've never felt gross reading her novels. or felt like she was using a disease to drive emotion.

Ok Jackie. There are a lot of readers who suffered infertility and thought truly represented until josh's Super sperm came to save the day. They were absolutely crushed by it and angered by the marketing the publisher did. I am a credible reviewer ❤️
